Why Aren’t You Cultivating Immortality? (GL) Chapter 89

Chapter 89

The elevator stopped on the eighth floor.
But Xie Xiangyu did not withdraw her gaze from Tang Yue. Apology and undisguised love filled her eyes as she looked at Tang Yue, lost in thought.
After a few seconds, the open elevator doors slowly began to close.
Tang Yue did not remind Xie Xiangyu to get out. Only when the doors were about to close completely did she lean forward and press the open button.
Tang Yue’s movement brought Xie Xiangyu back to herself.
Xie Xiangyu moved her lips. “That night…”
“Do I know you?”
Tang Yue cut her off. Her expression was cold as she looked at Xie Xiangyu. The reflection in her eyes seemed to be nothing more than a stranger met while shopping.
Perhaps even less than a stranger. To a stranger, Tang Yue would at least be pleasant.
Seeing Xie Xiangyu’s eyes redden as she slowly lowered her head, looking wronged, Tang Yue felt an inexplicable burst of irritation. Restraining the urge to push her out, she said sharply, “Get out.”
The elevator car was a public place, but Tang Yue’s tone made it sound like private territory.
Only after speaking did Tang Yue realize this. But she felt no embarrassment. She only turned her head aside, looking as if she never wanted to see Xie Xiangyu again.
The disgust and rejection in her eyes clearly fell into Xie Xiangyu’s eyes.
Xie Xiangyu understood that Tang Yue did not want to see her, nor did she want to speak to her. She tightened her grip on the documents in her hand and wanted to leave, but her legs seemed filled with lead and glue. She could not move.
In her heart, there was an even clearer voice telling her: Do not leave. Do not give up.
Even after those cold words, Xie Xiangyu still wanted to try. Gathering her courage, she said, “Tonight, can we have dinner together?”
Her voice was soft and gentle, and her eyes looked at Tang Yue with expectation.
The answer she received was silence.
Xie Xiangyu bit her lip.
She did not believe Tang Yue could be so heartless. In her memory, Tang Yue had been gentle and considerate. She had gone along with everything Xie Xiangyu wanted. No matter what Xie Xiangyu wanted to do, Tang Yue had fully supported her.
Xie Xiangyu stood in the elevator for a while but did not wait for Tang Yue to change her words.
The elevator doors slowly closed again.
Xie Xiangyu reached out and blocked the doors. Looking at the doors opening to both sides, she sighed, then turned back and looked deeply at Tang Yue. Before the elevator doors closed again, she finally stepped out.
Hearing the footsteps leaving, Tang Yue turned her head back.
The thin back before her eyes looked a little sad.
Perhaps women were all easily softened. Looking at Xie Xiangyu’s back, Tang Yue did not feel as disgusted as she had just now. A little heartache flowed into her eyes.
Xie Xiangyu did not walk far. After walking a few meters in front of the elevator, she suddenly stopped and turned back to look at Tang Yue.
Their eyes met.
Tang Yue’s gaze told Xie Xiangyu clearly: do not meet again.
Facing Tang Yue’s cold rejection, Xie Xiangyu froze slightly. Then she smiled. A strange hope bloomed in her reddened eyes.
She moved her lips and silently said one sentence to Tang Yue.
Tang Yue understood.
Her brows furrowed deeply. Her expression became somewhat ugly. Even after she reached the top floor, left the elevator, and walked to the secretary office, her emotions still had not eased.
An Huaigu was still in the secretary office chatting with the two secretaries. Hearing footsteps, she immediately stopped talking and turned back alertly to stare outside, afraid President Xiao had returned and would catch her off guard.
President Xiao had not returned.
The person who appeared in the hallway was Tang Yue. Her brows were furrowed, and her face was livid as she walked straight past outside without glancing at An Huaigu.
Seeing this, An Huaigu raised her voice and called, “Tang Yue!”
Tang Yue’s body trembled visibly.
An Huaigu saw it. Her intuition told her that something had happened to Tang Yue.
Tang Yue withdrew the anger in her eyes. A smile appeared on her face as she turned to look at An Huaigu. She walked back to the secretary office door and asked with a smile, “Does Assistant An need something?”
“Oh my, are the young couple going to show affection here?”
Secretary Wen crossed her arms and leaned sideways against the edge of the desk, glancing from the corner of her eye at Wang Junjue.
Secretary Wang devoted herself to work and was unsmiling all day. Other than work clothes, Wen Rushui had never seen her wear any other style of clothing at the company. After work, she put a black coat over her clothes and left. When invited to eat on weekends, she never agreed.
Last weekend, Wen Rushui had run into her at the supermarket. She had been pushing a shopping cart, wearing a white shirt ironed perfectly straight without a single wrinkle, with that black coat outside it.
It really made one wonder whether her closet had anything other than that style of clothing.
An Huaigu glanced at Secretary Wen. She stepped forward, caught Tang Yue’s wrist, and pulled her back to her own office amid Secretary Wen’s ambiguous laughter.
She closed and locked the door.
Tang Yue leaned against the door, raised a brow, and smiled in an especially seductive way. She tugged lightly at her collar, opening it a little.
“The heating in your office is much warmer than in mine.”
It was all the same heating. How could it be warmer?
Clearly, she was deliberately pulling open her clothes to reveal her beautiful collarbone and seduce people, making one’s heart sway until one could not think.
An Huaigu looked away.
Then she thought that their relationship was already as close as it could be. Not to mention this small bit of scenery, she had seen the dense forest and flowing stream too. So she lifted her eyes again.
“Your face looked bad. What did President Xiao say to you?”
An Huaigu would not think Tang Yue’s emotions were because of Xie Xiangyu.
Tang Yue had gone downstairs with President Xiao and Little Bai, then returned alone. If it was not President Xiao, then it had to be related to Bai Moqing.
Thinking of Bai Moqing’s gentle personality, it could absolutely not be her.
But if it was because of President Xiao, President Xiao had always handled company people in a businesslike way. Tang Yue had never made mistakes in work matters, so President Xiao would never make things difficult for her.
It was not President Xiao and not Little Bai. Then who else could it be?
An Huaigu looked at Tang Yue searchingly.
Seeing this, Tang Yue smiled and asked in return, “My face looked bad?”
She lifted the corners of her lips into a meaningful smile, hooked an arm around An Huaigu’s waist, and pulled her close. Their bodies pressed tightly together.
With the slightest movement, their soft peaks crossed and rubbed, giving rise to clear desire.
Tang Yue licked her lips, leaned close to An Huaigu, and pressed their foreheads together. She murmured, “Huaigu, my face did not look bad. I am only a little unsatisfied. Do you want to satisfy me now?”
“It definitely is not unsat…”
Her lips were caught by Tang Yue, and all the words of denial were swallowed into Tang Yue’s throat.
Her legs began to weaken. A thin dampness seeped from between them.
Unwilling to lose, An Huaigu grabbed Tang Yue’s clothes and warmly answered her kiss.
The oxygen in their lungs was taken by each other. Their oxygen-starved minds began to go blank. Everything that followed was a reaction after being controlled by desire.
Tang Yue opened her eyes and looked at An Huaigu. Burning desire filled her gaze.
Seeing the sofa not far to their left, Tang Yue did not hesitate. While kissing An Huaigu, she guided her toward the sofa.
Few people came to the top floor. Anyone who wanted to see President Xiao would first be stopped by Secretary Wang and Secretary Wen. Tang Yue knew this very well, which was why she dared boldly kiss An Huaigu in the office.
Even to do more reckless things.
An Huaigu stepped back to the edge of the sofa. Tang Yue pushed gently, and An Huaigu fell onto the sofa.
Lifting her head to look at Tang Yue, who stood above her, An Huaigu saw what Tang Yue wanted to do next. Holding her chest, she panted and said, “Tang Yue, do not mess around here.”
The refusal was not forceful at all. It looked more like shy resistance.
Tang Yue lifted one leg and knelt on the sofa beside An Huaigu’s thigh. She leaned close, lifted An Huaigu’s chin, and braced her other hand on the sofa, trapping An Huaigu in that small space.
“I want you here.”
As the words fell, she kissed her again. Her fingers slid slowly from An Huaigu’s chin to her neck and then toward softness. Through the clothes, she kneaded. Hearing the soft moan of desire, she could not help using more force, shaping her in all kinds of ways.
A figure appeared outside the office.
Through the glass door, she saw two people in the office kissing deeply.
When she saw one person’s face clearly, her heart suddenly hurt, as if a rusty blunt sword had pierced through it hard and carved countless thin, painful wounds.
Xie Xiangyu had not expected to see this after coming upstairs.
This was the company, a workplace. How could Tang Yue be bold enough to kiss another woman here?
The sofa blocked the other person’s body. Xie Xiangyu could only tell from the hair that the other person was a woman.
Actually, even without looking at the hair, she knew the other person was a woman. Tang Yue only liked women.
Pressing a hand to her chest, which hurt so much she could barely breathe, Xie Xiangyu turned and left. Her steps were a little unsteady.
In the secretary office, Secretary Wen was still pinching Secretary Wang’s cheeks and teasing her. She did not see someone walk past from the hallway outside, then leave.
“Old Wang, can you smile for me? Look at how good Assistant An and Assistant Tang’s relationship is, then look at us.”
Wang Junjue pushed Secretary Wen’s hand away. Her fair cheeks had been pinched red and swollen by Secretary Wen. She rubbed her face, lifted her head, and said something shocking.
“Do you want to sleep with me?”
What was this and what was that!
Even if she knew Assistant An and Assistant Tang’s relationship, she could not say the words sleep with me so seriously and directly!
Wen Rushui looked at Secretary Wang with both embarrassment and helplessness, calling her full name.
“Wang Junjue, we have worked together for many years. Can you not be so serious about everything? If you keep doing this, you really will be single for life.”
Wang Junjue lowered her head slightly.
“Rushui, actually I… have someone I am dating.”
The air froze in an instant.
Wen Rushui stared blankly at Wang Junjue, who had lowered her head and was unwilling to look at her.
After a long time, Wen Rushui smiled bitterly and said, “Mm. Not bad. You have someone you are dating.”
Then she turned and returned to her own workstation.
Feeling a restless hand slide into her clothes, An Huaigu, who had completely sunk into desire, had an instant of clarity. With her last trace of reason, she pressed down Tang Yue’s hand and said in a hoarse voice, “Tang Yue! You are not allowed to do that kind of thing in the office!”
She wanted it very much, but absolutely not here.
Seeing that the beauty beneath her was about to get angry, Tang Yue took out her hand and straightened An Huaigu’s clothes for her. Smiling, she coaxed her, “Yes, my Assistant An.”
Seeing her improper manner, An Huaigu raised a hand and slapped Tang Yue’s arm. She clutched her own clothes tightly and moved toward the corner of the sofa. With her chin, she signaled Tang Yue to sit down on the sofa.
Then she interrogated her. “Now you can honestly explain why your face looked bad.”
The person she had finally managed to forget appeared in Tang Yue’s mind again because of An Huaigu’s reminder.
Tang Yue did not show it. She deliberately put on a thoughtful expression and thought for a while before saying, “This New Year holiday is half a month. I will not see you for half a month, so I am a little unhappy.”
The words New Year reminded An Huaigu of something.
An Huaigu looked thoughtfully at Tang Yue, wavering over whether to come out.
Tang Yue raised a brow and smiled softly. “All right, I was only thinking about it. If I want to see you, I will definitely go find you no matter what.”
No matter what?
An Huaigu’s wavering heart instantly settled. She made a decision in her heart and smiled, following Tang Yue’s words.
“If my parents find out at that time, I will be coming out. If they want to break my legs, do not run away alone.”
“No matter what, I have to take my wife and run together.”
Tang Yue leaned forward and held An Huaigu in her arms, resting her chin on An Huaigu’s shoulder.
Before her eyes, the scene in front of the elevator suddenly appeared.
Tang Yue closed her eyes, but the image would not go away. It had clearly been a silent sentence, yet now it seemed to have been given a voice and sounded by her ear.
It was exactly the same as Xie Xiangyu’s voice.
“Qingqing, is this where Sikou Yan lives?”
The car was stopped by security at the entrance of a high-end neighborhood. The little orange cat stood up, paws on the car window, and looked around.
Bai Moqing glanced outside.
She had once used divine thought movement to go to the place Sikou Yan lived, and it was not here. Thinking of Sikou Yan’s identity as an actress, it was natural for her to often change where she stayed to avoid paparazzi.
Bai Moqing wrapped an arm around the little orange cat’s waist and pulled her back onto her lap. She turned to look at Xiao Xing. After confirming Xiao Xing would not drive to the wrong place, she said, “Mm. This is the place.”
Knock, knock, knock.
The security guard in a dark blue-black uniform walked to the driver’s side at this moment. While knocking on the window, he looked at the people in the car. After the window lowered, he asked very politely, “Hello. Who are you here to see?”
He knew every owner in the neighborhood. Even someone who had moved in on the first day, he would recognize.
The woman before him had a calm expression, but her aura was somehow pressing, like a queen. Clearly, she was not an owner here, nor was she a tenant.
Xiao Xing answered unhurriedly, “I am here to see Miss Qiao Qingji of Building 48, Room 2101. My surname is Xiao. She should have told you.”
Qiao Qingji?
Were they not looking for Sikou Yan? Was this her alias?
A string of questions ran through the little orange cat’s mind.
“Meow?”
She gave Xiao Xing a confused cry.
Hearing the sound, the security guard looked at the little orange cat, then stepped back and gestured to the guard inside the security room, signaling him to raise the barrier gate.
Then he said to Xiao Xing, “After entering, go straight until the third row of buildings, then turn right. There is an outdoor temporary parking area over there.”
Xiao Xing closed the window and slowly drove the car into the neighborhood.
She glanced at the little orange cat and said, “Qiao Qingji is Sikou Yan’s assistant, Xiao Qiao.”
In the entertainment world, even the assistants around celebrities received attention, and Xiao Qiao was naturally noticed too. But not many people knew Xiao Qiao’s real name. Even Xiao Xing had only learned it today when Sikou Yan told her.
After parking the car, Xiao Xing spread out her divine sense and found where Sikou Yan lived.
She took Bai Moqing’s hand and said, “We will go straight up.”
She tapped the little orange cat’s forehead, turned her to the size of a hamster, and placed her in Bai Moqing’s coat pocket.
To the little orange cat poking out her head, she instructed, “Stay obediently in Xiao Mo’s pocket. Without our permission, you are not allowed to poke your head out.”
After saying this, she pushed the little orange cat back inside.
“Meow…”
The little orange cat answered. She curled into a ball, adjusted into a comfortable position, closed her eyes, and began resting and regulating her breath.
With a thought, the two arrived at Sikou Yan’s home.
The noon sunlight happened to fall over the living room sofa and coffee table.
Sikou Yan held a thread-bound book that looked somewhat old and leaned sideways against the sofa arm. Her unpainted brows looked fresh and elegant. Beneath the long skirt that barely passed her knees, her straight, long legs rested together. A faint smile hung at the corner of her mouth.
On the square side table beside the sofa arm was a cup of red date and goji tea, good for replenishing energy, nourishing blood, and calming the spirit.
Sikou Yan had just picked up the tea and was drinking when two people appeared before her.
“You are here.”
Sikou Yan swallowed the mouthful of tea, set down the cup, and sat up at the same time. She closed the book and placed it on the coffee table, then stood.
“I will go change clothes.”
Her gaze swept over Xiao Xing and stayed on Bai Moqing for a moment. Then she went around the coffee table and entered the bedroom.
Xiao Xing kept watching Sikou Yan.
The instant the bedroom door closed, an abnormal fluctuation of spiritual energy appeared in the air.
Without thinking, Xiao Xing turned and protected Bai Moqing in her arms.
The sudden movement made Bai Moqing’s heartbeat speed up fiercely. Bai Moqing secretly stirred the God-Slaying Cauldron inside her body and became fully alert to everything around them. Turning her head, she looked at Xiao Xing and asked, “What is wrong?”
Xiao Xing frowned and shook her head.
She released her divine sense and covered everything within ten miles in a fine net. Lowering her head and seeing the nervousness and worry in Bai Moqing’s eyes, she could not help smiling.
“Does this count as us delivering ourselves to someone’s door to be carved up?”
Thinking of the identity Sikou Yan had told her, and comparing it to Xiao Xing’s identity, Bai Moqing came out of Xiao Xing’s arms.
“In this realm, no one can carve you up.”
Sikou Yan soon came out after changing.
She wore a pure white wide-sleeved immortal robe. A gauze dress with golden cloud-edge patterns trailed along the ground and covered her feet. Her smooth long hair was tied in a simple bun behind her. In her arms, she held a guqin as she slowly walked toward Bai Moqing.
It was clearly Bai Moqing’s first time seeing Sikou Yan dressed this way, yet she felt it was very familiar. That familiarity made an indescribable stirring rise in her heart.
As Sikou Yan approached, Bai Moqing gradually drifted out of focus.
Sikou Yan walked up to them, placed the guqin on the coffee table, and smiled.
“You do not mind me wearing these clothes, do you?”
She was clearly asking both of them, but her eyes looked only at Bai Moqing.
For a moment, Xiao Xing had the illusion that she was the third party.
