Why Aren’t You Cultivating Immortality? (GL) Chapter 88

Chapter 88

The company’s holiday suddenly changed from seven days to half a month.
When Manager Wen received the notice, he froze for a long while. Only then did he shakily take the already stamped and signed official document from his own younger sister, Secretary Wen Rushui. He read it again and again, but still could not believe it.
“Sister, tell your brother. Is our President Xiao getting married or something? She is actually giving us half a month of paid vacation!”
Wen Xiuming lifted his head, tears shining in his eyes. He was truly too excited, so excited he wanted to cry.
Wen Rushui, who had returned to her office after a meeting and had not even had time to drink the water she poured before President Xiao called her over, spread her hands.
She also did not know why President Xiao had suddenly changed the holiday.
“President Xiao told me to give this document to you and then send it to every department. She did not say anything else.”
She patted Wen Xiuming’s shoulder.
“Brother, hurry and send out the notice. I guess some colleagues will ask for leave today or tomorrow to go home early.”
After saying this, Wen Rushui turned and left her brother’s administrative manager office.
When she passed through the administration department’s open office area, she felt a burning gaze land on her.
Wen Rushui stopped and turned to sweep her eyes around. A pretty female employee who looked like she had only recently left school was looking at her. When the employee realized she had been discovered, she immediately lowered her head and went back to work.
Wen Rushui had meant to leave directly, but her eyesight was very good. She saw the name on the desk sign.
Xie Xiangyu.
After hesitating, she walked over, picked up the desk sign, and said casually, “Xie Xiangyu? This name is very special.”
Xie Xiangyu had not expected Secretary Wen to walk over, much less expected her to praise her name.
Uneasy, she tightened her grip on the pen in her hand, lifted her eyes to look quickly at Secretary Wen, then lowered her head and explained the origin of her name.
“My mother’s surname is Xiang, so my father gave me this name.”
“Mm. It has two meanings in one phrase. A very good name.”
After hearing the explanation, Wen Rushui set down the desk sign. She stayed for a moment, then turned and left. As she reached the door, she looked back at Xie Xiangyu again.
Their gazes met again.
Wen Rushui smiled faintly, then turned and left.
After going upstairs and returning to her secretary office, Wen Rushui could not wait to tell Secretary Wang, “Old Wang, I just went to administration and met a little employee with a very nice name.”
Secretary Wang, who was busy working, heard the excitement in Secretary Wen’s words. She could not clearly explain what she felt inside. It was as if her chest had suddenly become stuffy and uncomfortable.
Without leaving a trace, she frowned slightly. Without lifting her head, she asked, “What name?”
“Xie Xiangyu.”
Wen Rushui picked up the mug on her desk and took a sip of water. It was water she had poured before going downstairs. In such a short time, it had already gone cold.
An Huaigu happened to pass by outside the door. Hearing the three words Xie Xiangyu, she turned back and walked to the secretary office door.
She knocked and asked, “Were you two just talking about Xie Xiangyu?”
Wen Rushui turned and gave an “mm.”
“What is it? You know her?”
An Huaigu pondered.
This little employee had only joined the company a month ago. After more than half a month of onboarding training, she had entered the administration department. The Xiao Xie who received Zheng Yanfei this morning was precisely her.
For some reason, An Huaigu felt uneasy.
She pressed down that unease and smiled. “I met her this morning. She is quite perceptive.”
The documents on the desk were spread messily.
After Xiao Xing finished handling the last document, she set down her pen and began organizing them.
Bai Moqing, who sat across from her, immediately stood.
“A-Xing, I will organize them.”
She reached for the documents in Xiao Xing’s hand.
Xiao Xing pressed down Bai Moqing’s hand and stroked the back of it. Gentle ripples rose in her cool eyes.
“We will organize them together. It will be faster.”
Although she said this, the hand pressing Bai Moqing’s hand did not let go.
The little orange cat, who was lying on the sofa and recovering her mood, heard the two speak. She lifted her head and glanced toward Bai Moqing.
“Can we go home?”
The work was all done. If they still did not go home, she was going to bristle.
Seeing their hands overlapped, her anger rose again. She jumped down from the sofa, ran over, and leaped onto the desk.
With a face full of lipstick marks that she did not know about, she raised her head and said, “You two are being sticky here. Did you never think about how I was bullied by that bad woman An Huaigu next door?”
She lowered her head to show Bai Moqing the top of her head.
“Look, look. The fur on my head was almost rubbed bald by her!”
Bai Moqing pulled back her hand and touched the little orange cat’s head, forcing herself not to laugh.
She comforted her, “Feiyue, go home first. A-Xing and I still have something to do. We will only go home tonight.”
The little orange cat tilted her head and dodged Bai Moqing’s hand, her face unhappy.
“What do you two have to do?”
Thinking of what An Huaigu had said, she lifted her nose and sniffed Bai Moqing hard. She did not smell the scent of heat.
“An Huaigu said you two were secretly doing something unsuitable for children in the office. I could not smell it.”
As soon as she finished speaking, Xiao Xing looked at her coldly.
The little orange cat’s body shook in fright. She could feel Xiao Xing getting angry, but when she thought about what she had just said, nothing seemed wrong.
She tilted her head and looked at Xiao Xing. After looking for a few seconds, she timidly said, “I want to go with you.”
Afraid Xiao Xing would act against her, the little orange cat sprang onto Bai Moqing, rustled into Bai Moqing’s coat, and hid herself tightly inside.
Bai Moqing lowered her head and looked at the slightly raised part of her clothes. Then she asked Xiao Xing, “Is it suitable to bring her to see Sikou Yan?”
“What! You are going to see Sikou Yan!”
Hearing the three words Sikou Yan, the little orange cat suddenly poked her head out of the coat. Her eyes were wide and round.
“Why are you going to see her?”
That woman gave her a dangerous feeling.
The little orange cat jumped to the ground and changed into human form.
“Qingqing, do not go see her.”
Feeling that she could not persuade Bai Moqing, Feiyue turned to Xiao Xing.
“Xiao Xing, do not go see her. Last time on the mountain, when I saw her, she gave me a dangerous feeling I could not describe. Now that feeling is getting stronger and stronger.”
As she spoke, she pulled Bai Moqing’s hand.
“Qingqing, look. As soon as you say her name, my body turns cold.”
She let Bai Moqing feel her body temperature.
To stop the two from going to see Sikou Yan, Feiyue had even changed into human form. The expression on her face and the look in her eyes were rarely so grave and serious.
Bai Moqing turned back and looked at Xiao Xing in question.
Xiao Xing glanced at the hands the two held together, then looked thoughtfully at Bai Moqing.
Her meeting with Sikou Yan that day had been very short, but they had discussed many things. Besides telling Xiao Xing that she was a high god in charge of prisons, justice, and discipline, Sikou Yan had also mentioned the blood moon.
The blood moon was an omen. Before demons and devils brought chaos, she had to return to the God Realm.
Perhaps because their hearts were connected, Bai Moqing could see what Xiao Xing was thinking from her eyes.
When Xiao Xing told her everything she and Sikou Yan had said that day, Bai Moqing had truly been shocked. She had not expected Sikou Yan to be honest with Xiao Xing.
But this also solved her doubt. No wonder Xiao Xing had not been surprised at all yesterday when Bai Moqing told her Sikou Yan was a high god in charge of prisons, justice, and discipline.
After thinking it over, Xiao Xing said to Feiyue, “We will have to meet her sooner or later.”
She turned her head and moved her gaze to Bai Moqing. “What do you think?”
Bai Moqing had not answered when Feiyue spoke first.
“You have already met her so many times. Why do you still need to meet?”
“This time is different.”
Bai Moqing did not plan to tell Feiyue the detailed reason.
“You go home first. Xiao Xing and I need to talk with her together.”
Feiyue looked at Bai Moqing in conflict, then looked at Xiao Xing. She sighed.
“I will still go with you.”
She changed back into cat form and drilled back into Bai Moqing’s coat. In a muffled voice from inside Bai Moqing’s clothes, she said, “You have to protect me.”
Bai Moqing could not help laughing.
She had thought Feiyue would say, “I will protect you.” She had not expected Feiyue to ask them to protect her instead.
Through the clothes, she patted the little orange cat’s body.
“All right. A-Xing and I will protect you well.”
After organizing the documents on the desk, Xiao Xing and Bai Moqing left the office side by side.
Seeing that they were leaving, Tang Yue came out of the office and asked, “President Xiao, will you come to the company tomorrow or the day after? I have not finished organizing the hotel building schedule progress. If you are not coming, I will send you the electronic file.”
Xiao Xing said, “Send me the electronic file directly. Send a copy to Linran too.”
Hearing President Xiao’s meaning, she would not come to the company again. Thinking that she would not see President Xiao for the next half month, Tang Yue nodded.
“All right.”
Then she said, “I will see you down.”
Silently, she followed behind Xiao Xing and Bai Moqing and left with them.
The group passed the secretary office.
Tang Yue glanced inside and saw An Huaigu chatting casually with Secretary Wen, while the busy Secretary Wang beside them clearly did not look well. Tang Yue was very curious. She looked at President Xiao walking ahead, but she could not go in now and ask what they were talking about.
But Xiao Xing stopped at the door and even called An Huaigu.
Hearing Xiao Xing’s voice out of nowhere, An Huaigu jumped in fright. She turned back and saw three people standing outside, looking at them. She immediately lifted her lips into a bright smile.
“President Xiao, are you going out?”
Xiao Xing gave an “mm.” Her voice was cool as she said, “Everything has been handled. Send the documents on my desk back to each department.”
After giving the instruction, just as An Huaigu thought she was about to leave, Xiao Xing continued, “Also, do not let me see you leaving your post again.”
She did not say what the consequence would be if she saw An Huaigu leave her post again, but An Huaigu knew it would definitely not end well.
She quickly smiled ingratiatingly.
“I will not dare in the future.”
Secretary Wen also obediently nodded along.
After seeing President Xiao to the parking lot and watching their car leave the company, Tang Yue slowly returned to the office building alone.
Just as she entered the lobby, someone came out of the administration department.
Seeing each other, both of them stopped.
Tang Yue looked expressionlessly at Xie Xiangyu. Seeing those eyes that seemed to hold a thousand words, Tang Yue’s gaze turned cold.
When she saw Xie Xiangyu walk toward her, Tang Yue turned her head as if she did not know her and walked toward the elevator.
Xie Xiangyu followed Tang Yue into the elevator. After Tang Yue pressed twenty-eight, Xie Xiangyu pressed eight.
Looking at the reflection on the elevator doors, she softly said, “We finally meet again.”
Tang Yue acted as if she had heard nothing. Her hands hung naturally by her sides, her back straight, as if she were the only person in the elevator.
It was not rush hour, so there were not many cars on the road.
The little orange cat poked her head out and looked outside, then squatted on Bai Moqing’s lap.
“Are we on the way to find Sikou Yan now?”
Bai Moqing said, “Mm. We agreed to meet at her home. We are on the way there now.”
Driving, Xiao Xing glanced sideways at the little orange cat.
Seeing her little head drooping in worry, Xiao Xing raised a brow and said, “It is still not too late for you to go home.”
