Why Aren’t You Cultivating Immortality? (GL) Chapter 40

Chapter 40

Yun Su sat on the sofa with her left shoulder bare. Her face was pale. Between her chest and collarbone was a wound, raw and bloody. Bright red blood ran down her body and dripped onto the sofa and floor.
The pools of blood looked like they were about to join into a river. Yun Su had lost a great deal of blood. If she kept bleeding, she might turn into a dried flood dragon.
The frightening sight made Bai Moqing’s heart tremble. She dropped the little orange cat and quickly took hemostatic medicine from her storage ring.
Yun Su felt a hand moving over her body and opened her eyes in a daze.
“Moqing, you’re back.” Her voice was weak and faint, and it made the little orange cat’s heart ache. The little orange cat jumped onto the sofa and licked Yun Su’s cold hand. “Yun Yun, Qingqing is back. You’ll be all right.”
Yun Su felt tired and in pain. Seeing the little orange cat lick her hand, she forced out a difficult smile and murmured Feiyue’s name. Then she could no longer hold on to her last bit of awareness and fell into a deep faint.
After carefully treating the wound, Bai Moqing carried Yun Su into the bedroom. The little orange cat changed into human form and followed close behind her step by step.
“Qingqing, will Yun Yun die?”
“No. She’ll be fine in a few days.” Bai Moqing tucked the quilt around Yun Su. Turning her head, she saw Feiyue looking at Yun Su with worry all over her face. Bai Moqing glanced at the unconscious Yun Su and asked Feiyue, “Did Yun Su tell you how she got hurt?”
When Bai Moqing treated the wound, she had looked carefully at its shape. There were four blunt marks. It should have been made by a weapon like a mace. The strange thing was that there was no trace of magic power on the wound. It seemed to have been made by an ordinary weapon.
With a flood dragon’s body, Yun Su could not possibly be hurt by an ordinary weapon.
“No.” Feiyue shook her head. “When she came back, her chest was covered in blood. She pulled her clothes open, and there was a wound above her chest. She told me to hurry and find you, then she sat there and stopped talking.”
Feiyue had been terrified. Yun Su told her to find Bai Moqing, so without thinking, she went to Xiao Xing’s home and accidentally ruined the two women’s good moment.
Then they could only wait for Yun Su to wake and ask her directly.
The air was filled with the sweet, metallic smell of blood. The blood on the sofa and floor had already clotted. Bai Moqing cleaned it up and found that her own clothes were stained too, so she went to the bathroom to shower and change into clean clothes.
The bedroom door was open. The sound of water from the bathroom clearly reached Feiyue’s ears. When the water stopped, Feiyue came out to find Bai Moqing. Standing at the bedroom door, she asked, “Qingqing, are you still going to Xiao Xing’s house?”
Without Bai Moqing, Feiyue had no sense of safety. She did not want Bai Moqing to go to Xiao Xing’s house. But Bai Moqing and Xiao Xing had already reached the point of getting into bed together. Feiyue was only a little cat demon. She could not keep Bai Moqing.
Bai Moqing saw the unease and reluctance in Feiyue’s eyes. She walked over and touched her head. “I’ll stay home for the next few days.”
Feiyue’s sadness instantly vanished. She hugged Bai Moqing happily and kept rubbing against her. “Qingqing, you’re so good. I knew the one you love most is me.”
“Feiyue, what I feel for you isn’t romantic love.” Bai Moqing pushed Feiyue away, looked into her eyes, and leaned closer.
Feiyue reflexively took two steps back.
Bai Moqing laughed. “Look at your reaction. You don’t really like me either.”
What Feiyue felt for her was dependence.
“Hmph. That’s not true. I like you.” Feiyue grabbed Bai Moqing’s shoulders and rose onto her toes, trying to kiss her.
Bai Moqing raised a hand to block Feiyue’s face, pushed her away, and said, “Xiao Xing can see what you’re doing.”
Feiyue was so frightened that she darted back into the bedroom.
So timid.
“Xiao Mo really understands me.” A figure suddenly appeared in front of Bai Moqing. Xiao Xing had a smile on her face. She glanced toward the bedroom. The smile carried a pressure that made people want to kneel and submit. Feiyue quickly shut the door and ran to the bed to stay with Yun Su.
As casual as if she were in her own home, Xiao Xing withdrew her gaze and entered Bai Moqing’s bedroom.
The bedroom had a bay window covered with a soft white cushion. Sometimes, Bai Moqing cultivated there. Once her divine sense spread out, the whole city fell under its cover.
Xiao Xing’s gaze swept around the bedroom, then landed on the bay window.
In her free time, she would watch Bai Moqing cultivate. Day after day, Bai Moqing sat motionless on that bay window, her soul growing stronger over time.
Bai Moqing walked to Xiao Xing’s side. Her gaze passed through the window and looked outside. The rain had already stopped. The sky held no trace of the tribulation from earlier.
“Are you staying here tonight?” Although Bai Moqing knew Xiao Xing’s thoughts, she still wanted to ask.
“What do you think?” Xiao Xing turned and sat on the bay window. She reached out and caught Bai Moqing’s wrist. Her peach blossom eyes narrowed slightly, and the deep smile in them rippled into Bai Moqing’s heart.
After Bai Moqing left, Xiao Xing had tossed and turned, unable to sleep. She had hesitated over whether she should come find Bai Moqing. But when she saw the little cat demon rising onto her toes like the innocent heroine of a girls’ comic trying to kiss the other lead, Xiao Xing hesitated no longer.
With a pull of her hand, Xiao Xing drew Bai Moqing into her arms. The kiss came right after, giving Bai Moqing no chance to refuse. Xiao Xing turned and pressed her down on the bay window.
A soft, wet tongue swept over Bai Moqing’s lips and easily pried open her teeth. Xiao Xing’s skilled kiss stirred Bai Moqing’s desire without effort.
“Mm…” A soft sound slipped from Bai Moqing’s throat. Xiao Xing’s kiss grew even hotter and wilder, as if she wanted to devour her.
Bai Moqing’s body burned unbearably. Wherever Xiao Xing’s hand passed, it brought a pleasant coolness. But the emptiness in her heart only grew stronger. It was not enough. Kisses and touches could no longer satisfy the desire in her heart. Bai Moqing raised her arms around Xiao Xing’s neck, parted her legs, and trapped Xiao Xing’s leg between them.
Love was instinct. So was making love.
Xiao Xing’s knee pressed between Bai Moqing’s legs and rubbed again and again. The heat there was higher than anywhere else on her body. Xiao Xing swept that place with her divine sense, then released Bai Moqing’s lips and gazed at her.
“Xiao Mo, you’re wet there.”
As soon as the words fell, another warm rush came from that place, soaking Bai Moqing’s underwear.
Xiao Xing loved seeing Bai Moqing embarrassed. It moved her heart and made her love ripple outward. Her kisses fell near Bai Moqing’s ear and temple. Hot breath slipped into Bai Moqing’s ear, and Xiao Xing’s low, hoarse voice sounded beside it.
“Xiao Mo, your body is more sensitive than before.”
Bai Moqing had never known her body could be like this. Just hearing Xiao Xing speak beside her ear almost brought her to the peak of pleasure. If Xiao Xing entered her body…
With just that thought, the wetness grew stronger, and her body could not help trembling.
“Xiao Xing…” Bai Moqing was lost in desire and confusion. She no longer knew what reserve was, or what shame was. She only wanted to merge into one with Xiao Xing.
Xiao Xing understood what she meant. Her scattered kisses moved slowly down Bai Moqing’s neck toward her collarbone.
Xiao Xing liked leaving marks of love on Bai Moqing’s body. Below Bai Moqing’s ear, on her neck, she left two bright red kiss marks.
“Wait!” Bai Moqing stopped her, panting.
She had remembered Yun Su’s wound. It was above the chest and below the collarbone, right where Xiao Xing was kissing.
Disordered breath brushed over Bai Moqing’s face. Xiao Xing’s long hair fell beside her cheek. Xiao Xing looked at Bai Moqing. “Wait for what?” Her voice was so hoarse it barely sounded like itself, and desire was almost overflowing from her eyes.
“President Xiao, Yun Su is hurt…” When Bai Moqing grew nervous, she called Xiao Xing President Xiao. In a moment like this, it sounded especially forbidden and thrilling.
“I know she’s hurt.” Xiao Xing picked Bai Moqing up in her arms and carried her to the bed. The instant she pulled the quilt over their bodies, the clothes on both of them changed into pajamas. Xiao Xing held Bai Moqing from behind, wrapping her in her arms.
Bai Moqing was flustered and did not know what to do. Xiao Xing smiled and murmured, “I can endure it.”
Bai Moqing’s heart instantly softened into a mess. She turned, hugged Xiao Xing, and buried herself in her arms. Each fierce beat of her heart seemed to speak of Xiao Xing’s love for her.
Yun Su woke three days later.
Feiyue had stayed by Yun Su’s side day and night. Every four hours, she changed the medicine on Yun Su’s wound. When she grew sleepy, she turned into the little orange cat and curled up beside Yun Su’s shoulder, her fluffy little head leaning against her. At the slightest movement, the little orange cat would wake.
As the sky grew dark, Yun Su’s eyelids moved. Her awareness returned bit by bit. She opened her eyes and heard low breathing close by. When she turned her head, an elegant and quiet little orange cat entered her sight.
After leaving the Qiongcang Secret Realm, Yun Su had always appeared in human form. First, her true body attracted too much attention. Second, this made it easier to hug Feiyue.
Feiyue was different from her. Feiyue liked her cat form. She liked lying lazily on the sofa to watch TV, or sleeping on the windowsill in the sun.
“Feiyue.” In those two short words, Yun Su’s voice turned and softened many times. She lay on her side and raised a hand to stroke the little orange cat. The smooth cat fur felt very nice, unlike her own hard, cold black scales, which were not nice to touch at all.
The little orange cat woke up. Her sleepy eyes met Yun Su’s warm, smiling ones, and she instantly became alert. Excited, she changed into human form, lay beside Yun Su, and held her hand.
“You’re finally awake!”
Then she turned her head and shouted outside, “Qingqing, Yun Yun is awake!”
Bai Moqing was cooking porridge in the kitchen. Hearing the shout, she walked over. Warmth filled Yun Su’s heart. She looked at the little orange cat, then at Bai Moqing, and sighed.
“Having you both is wonderful.”
The energy of heaven and earth had given birth to Yun Su. She had no parents and no friends. After ten thousand lonely years, how lucky was she to meet Feiyue and Bai Moqing?
“How is the wound?” Bai Moqing stood at the door.
Feiyue eagerly lifted the quilt to check Yun Su’s injury. “The wound has already healed. It only left a cross-shaped scar.”
Yun Su, who had once been able to walk around naked without caring, now felt a strange shyness under Feiyue’s gaze.
As if by accident, she pressed the quilt down and covered the tempting view on her chest. After putting on clothes under the quilt, Yun Su lifted the blanket and got out of bed.
“I’m fine now. Right, I opened the seal on the barrier.”
As she spoke, a golden light appeared in Yun Su’s hand. The light drew inward and turned into a golden mace.
“There was someone sealed inside that barrier. As soon as I entered, that person woke up and even injured me with this mace.”
It was a four-edged golden mace. Near the handle, the word Linghuang was carved. The person sealed inside the barrier had summoned the Linghuang Mace and, without asking anything, tangled with Yun Su in battle. The mace was blunt and had no edge, but it could produce sharp blade energy. Yun Su had been careless and got stabbed into a bloody hole by the Linghuang Mace.
She thought she would die at that person’s hands, but he suddenly left. He did not even have time to take back the mace.
Magic tools all carried the aura of their owners. Yun Su studied the Linghuang Mace. The aura on the mace was gone. That meant the owner of the mace was dead.
“You’re saying the owner of this Linghuang Mace is already dead?”
Yun Su nodded and handed the Linghuang Mace to Bai Moqing. “This is his mace. It has no aura now.”
After connecting everything before and after, Bai Moqing guessed who that person was.
The true immortal who underwent tribulation a few days ago.
She returned the mace to Yun Su. “Keep this mace well. It is a rare magic treasure.”
After telling Feiyue to watch the porridge in the kitchen, Bai Moqing prepared to go investigate the barrier. Just as she was about to leave, her phone rang. A name she had not contacted in a long time appeared on the screen.
Doctor Xue.
The call connected, and Doctor Xue’s gentle voice came through the receiver.
“Moqing, are you free tonight? I want to see you.”
Two pairs of eyes shot toward Bai Moqing. That voice clearly was not Xiao Xing’s. Another woman wanted to see Bai Moqing?
Feiyue and Yun Su wore the exact same gossip-hungry expression, their questioning eyes fixed on Bai Moqing as if asking whether she was cheating. Their ears stood straight up, and they looked as if they wished they could press close to the phone and listen carefully.
