The Demon Venerable Is Delicate and Charming (GL) Chapter 46

Chapter 46

Li Lingjiang looked deeply at Yin Wu. She also intended to let the young immortal train more. Seeing that Yin Wu was confident, she said no more. Turbid demonic energy suddenly surged inside the Jade-Bone Fan in her hand, and the flawless white jade fan became oppressive and frightening.
“Good.” Li Lingjiang answered with only one word. Her brows and eyes were sharp.
Yin Wu carefully wound the red thread around her fingers. She lowered her head, and her voice was a little muffled. “My Lord, be careful. There is no rush.”
After winding the red thread, the young immortal twisted her wrist. Her waist and abdomen tightened, and she slowly circulated the spiritual power inside her. The red thread resonated with it, raising a faint wind for no reason. It swayed in the air, and one could even faintly hear the tiny ringing of blade tips.
These movements were enough to draw the demon vines’ attention. Yin Wu did not rush into the battlefield. She turned back and gave Li Lingjiang a deep look. The meaning in her eyes was clear. Still worried, she let flame spread along the red thread all the way to its tip. She seemed to stand in raging fire, yet she was completely unharmed.
Li Lingjiang watched Yin Wu quickly run a circle around her. The red thread also circled her once, cutting a natural ring into the ground and enclosing her.
Yin Wu said quickly, “My Lord, try not to act. Stay inside this circle. It can protect you somewhat.”
The circle was not large, just enough to hold Li Lingjiang. If one crouched and touched it, it would burn the hand badly. The heated ground did not make her feel anything unusual, but a strange feeling rose in her heart, swollen and somehow comforting.
She was using the spirit born from the Jade-Bone Fan itself and did not truly plan to act herself. Li Lingjiang now took her own body more seriously because of Yin Wu’s reminder. She had not expected Yin Wu to do something like this: drawing the ground as a prison. But she did not dislike it.
Yin Wu was very strong with fire. Against this kind of plant, it was naturally perfect. Otherwise, she would not have taken the risk.
Li Lingjiang looked around and saw there was nowhere to stand. Little Black and Little White had been left where they were, acting as a barrier. A dragon’s loyalty to its master lasted a lifetime. Once given an order, it would not form other thoughts.
She breathed out and tossed the Jade-Bone Fan upward. The movement looked simple, but the instant it was thrown, the fan hung in the air and slowly moved before Li Lingjiang’s eyes. The hostile energy it gave off made the heart fearful.
After making her preparations, Yin Wu quickly moved among the vines. Each vine was hundreds of times larger than her. The force of one strike could not be underestimated. But she only played with the red thread carelessly, taking a moment to think about when to solve them without drawing too much attention.
The demon vines were furious at Yin Wu’s intrusion. They bent down until they were level with the young immortal. If one listened carefully, one could hear them breathing, angry and excited.
Yin Wu’s ears were filled with that excited movement. She curled her lip, thinking it was better to end this quickly. After all, Li Lingjiang was here, so she should perform a little better.
She gave a soft “Ah,” without the slightest fear, lifted her shoulders, and murmured, “I will play with you for a bit.”
As soon as she finished, she leaped into the air. The red thread instantly turned sharp, and fire spread along its full length at great speed. She controlled it with extreme skill, wrapping it around the nearest demon vine. The moment it tightened, the smell of burning rose, sharp and biting.
She laughed lowly. In the next second, her expression disappeared. Just as her toes landed, she quickly retreated. Her wrist wound the red thread, and as her body turned, she flung the vine straight toward the one beside it.
Yin Wu whispered, “So boring.”
The flames suddenly grew larger, crossing from the almost-severed demon vine to another one. The speed was too fast to stop. Only belatedly did the vines begin secreting saliva to protect themselves. The vines touched by flame began flailing wildly.
If they could make sounds, Yin Wu had no trouble imagining what kind of roars they would be. She pressed her lips together. Her senses quickly locked onto movement behind her. She lifted her eyes and still turned back for the unnecessary glance, barely avoiding the dripping saliva.
She swept her gaze downward. Several small vines were visibly growing from the saliva, much faster than the earlier growth cycle. She curved her lips with interest. With only a rub of her fingers, a fireball appeared. She tossed it casually and directly snuffed out those pitiful little lives.
Yin Wu paid them no more attention. She turned and ran. The red thread in her hand grew longer and longer. She kept avoiding vines and saliva, her nimble body weaving among them. Following her movements, the red thread surrounded all the vines.
Fire was the natural enemy of plants. The demon vines tried many times to roll up Yin Wu, but failed again and again. Seeing the tightening red thread, they began huddling together. Their bodies twisted and gradually fused, about to become one enormous vine.
Yin Wu did not care at all. She wiped ash onto her face and rolled across the ground several times midway. Calculating that the time was about right and that she looked miserable enough, she silently sighed. Then she used the vine’s nearly vertical body to flip into the air. The red thread pierced between them like an axe splitting a mountain.
She used force and raised the fire, forcibly splitting them apart and separating their tangled bodies. Yin Wu gave a cold laugh, swept back some loose hair, and landed steadily.
Holding the scalding red thread, Yin Wu walked step by step toward the vines. After being toyed with by her, the demon vines were nearly dead. Seeing her come, they struggled to lift themselves, then dropped heavily and weakly. Yin Wu tilted her head slightly. She clearly carried an innocent air, yet for no reason she was terrifying.
Seeing resistance was useless, the tip of one demon vine slowly moved toward Li Lingjiang. Its purpose was very clear. Yin Wu’s brows tightened. She laughed once. The instant the vine gathered strength, she dragged it back with red thread. Li Lingjiang also sensed something wrong. She quickly retreated. The Jade-Bone Fan blocked the heavy blow, but when she turned aside, it still cut a very shallow blood mark on her face.
Li Lingjiang’s eyes darkened as she looked at the thin demon vine trying to escape. She walked over quickly and crushed it to death without expression. This trick of swapping truth for falsehood was not well used.
The moment Yin Wu strangled the vine, the vine beside it, which had seemed silent, had actually rushed straight toward Li Lingjiang. The instant the Jade-Bone Fan blocked it, it split off another vine again, trying to survive.
“My Lord, are you all right?” Yin Wu walked over with a dark face. She stopped Li Lingjiang from touching her own face and carefully checked it herself. Suddenly, she felt as if someone else had touched one of her toys. She had raised this person with care. How could this kind of creature stain her?
This was the first time Li Lingjiang had seen such a dark, fierce look in Yin Wu’s eyes. Being stared at like that made her uncomfortable. She had just been about to brush Yin Wu’s hand away when unbearable pain came from her lower abdomen. Her whole body trembled. For a moment, she could not breathe and could not make a sound. The scene before her kept blurring.
Yin Wu supported her body and looked at her without any feeling in her eyes. Li Lingjiang could only squeeze out a blurred “Yin.” She reached out, wanting to grab the young immortal’s clothes, but the instant she raised her hand, she lost consciousness.
“My Lord, sleep for a while. I cannot let you know what comes next.” Yin Wu held Li Lingjiang across her arms. Her eyes were cold as she looked toward the chaotic scene. Her thin lips parted. “In my name, I seize your life and death.”
As if drawing a boundary around her territory, every vine in the forest withered at extreme speed. Only a few young ones were left alive.
And among the crowd, a pair of eyes filled with desire and obsession quietly watched the direction where Li Lingjiang had gone.
