Yun Shayi! Luo Tangtang looked at the person covered in blood, but their gaze passed over her, heading straight for someone else.
Luo Si? Luo Tangtang felt they looked extremely similar, but the other person was much colder, appearing unfeeling.
“I am only following the Main God’s will,” that person said coldly, their eyes without a ripple of emotion.
Yun Shayi, however, seemed to have received a great shock. “No… impossible… It can’t be… You wouldn’t…”
The Extreme North was already covered in ice and snow. Beneath their feet, the ground trembled, and dark spiritual energy swirled.
Luo Si watched Yun Shayi’s frantic display dispassionately, as if observing a play.
‘Luo Er, is this the Main God’s doing? Why does she look so much like me? Is this all an act?’
“‘She’s not pretending.’” The system, as if it could see through Luo Tangtang’s thoughts, explained softly with a complicated tone, “‘She just looks like that. Number Three and I look the same. All systems have one of these two appearances.’”
“‘It’s Yun Shayi who didn’t recognize you.’”
Luo Tangtang’s expression suddenly turned ugly. She looked at Luo Si, her heart tightening. Never mind Yun Shayi not recognizing her; just looking at this scene, even she felt like she herself had done it.
“Who exactly are you?”
Luo Si still had little expression. “Luo Yi.”
“You’re not.” Yun Shayi seemed to be serious, retorting sharply.
Luo Si said calmly, “Whatever you say.”
“Only when these people are dead will this world achieve balance between yin and yang and stabilize. This is the fate you should fulfill.”
Yun Shayi’s eyes suddenly reddened. Her hands started to tremble, her eyelashes quivered, and she seemed somewhat fragile.
“Don’t act like this. When you were killing them just now, you didn’t hold back,” Luo Si glanced at her and said without hesitation.
“You should have all been mentally prepared for this. If this is what fate arranged, then it was arranged only for you.”
After speaking, Luo Si looked puzzled again. “Why? Why did you reduce yourself to this state? You were clearly standing at the pinnacle of this world, why seal everything and start over?”
“What… What do you mean?” Yun Shayi seemed not to understand, her eyes bloodshot, glaring fiercely at Luo Si as she gritted her teeth.
“You don’t know?” Luo Si raised an eyebrow, seeming unconvinced.
In the Extreme North, there wasn’t a sliver of light, only vast white snow and towering ice cliffs.
A peculiar smile touched Yun Shayi’s lips.
“I know.”
Luo Si, however, frowned. She suddenly had a bad feeling.
“I wanted to keep Senior Sister here, so this was the only way.”
Yun Shayi’s voice was tinged with bitterness and hope. “Indeed, Senior Sister came back. It’s just… she doesn’t seem to treat me as well as before.”
Her eyes dimmed for a moment, then she secretly encouraged herself. It’s okay, we still have a long future. Senior Sister will stay and accompany me.
Luo Si’s frown deepened. Her gaze swept over Yun Shayi, and she couldn’t help but feel the other person must be mad. She immediately said decisively, “No. The mission is complete, the world is stable. I should go back.”
But this sentence seemed to touch a nerve in Yun Shayi. It was as if hearing the person opposite her say they wanted to leave caused something within her to snap.
Yun Shayi’s expression suddenly became calm. She looked at Luo Si, her face devoid of expression, but her tone was somewhat menacing. “You won’t be able to leave.”
Almost instantly, so fast that neither Luo Si nor Luo Tangtang could react, countless dark shadows suddenly rushed towards Luo Si from all directions, forming a cage and imprisoning her in a small space.
Only then did Luo Si realize that something was wrong with the Extreme North. The sky seemed to be covered by a layer of fog, looking very illusory.
Yun Shayi smiled. “Senior Sister, have you forgotten that you once said you would give me freedom?”
“I spent a thousand years to completely master this world, just to wait for you to return.”
‘My heart skipped a beat, I’m panicking.’
“‘The timelines are different. Time in their world naturally passes faster than where we are.’” The system didn’t think this was anything to be surprised about.
Luo Tangtang looked at Yun Shayi’s face, her eyes stinging slightly. “‘Why didn’t you say so earlier?’”
“‘…Even if I had told you, what could you have done?’”
Luo Si gripped the edge of the cage, but it didn’t budge. She couldn’t break free. Her expression gradually grew solemn. She frowned deeply, a flicker of confusion in her eyes. How much control does Yun Shayi actually have over this world? When did it begin to escape my control? More importantly, she pondered how to deal with the current predicament.
“Senior Sister.” Yun Shayi smiled. Her hand traced the outline of the person’s hand inside the cage through the air. “Stay with me.”
In the small pavilion, Luo Yi suddenly woke up, layers of cold sweat on her forehead. A flicker of panic crossed her eyes as she clutched her chest, where her heart was pounding violently.
“Luo Yi, what’s wrong?” Luo Er saw Luo Yi’s panicked expression and hurried over.
Luo Yi touched her forehead. A dull pain in her chest made it hard to ignore.
“Luo Er.” Luo Yi looked earnestly into Luo Er’s eyes and said seriously, “I need to go back. You have to help me.”
“Wh-what happened?” Luo Er looked at Luo Si, who was trapped in the cage with a resentful expression, and was so shocked her tongue almost lolled out, her face full of horror.
Luo Si glanced at Luo Er and said, “Get me out.”
“Tsk tsk, is that how you ask for help?” Luo Er walked around the cage, chin propped on her hand, an expression of someone enjoying a good show on her face.
“What do you want?” Luo Si still showed little emotion.
Luo Er’s eyes twinkled. “How about you call me ‘Big Sister Er’ a few times? Would that be good?”
A moment of silence.
“Alright,” Luo Yi interrupted Luo Er. “How did you end up like this?”
Luo Si was silent for a moment, her face a little grim. “I don’t know. Yun Shayi seems to have gone out of control. This matter needs to be reported to the Main God immediately.”
Luo Er instantly looked at Luo Yi, and the two exchanged a glance.
Luo Er immediately said, “You’d better stay out of this matter.”
“Why?” Luo Si looked at Luo Er with some confusion.
“This… this, what are you going to say? That you got locked in a birdcage? Isn’t that embarrassing?” Luo Er pointed at the cage and said loudly.
Luo Si frowned. “I need to report that Yun Shayi is out of control.”
Luo Er’s mouth twitched. She suddenly felt a little weary.
“The Main God has been very busy with important matters recently. Don’t bother him with this.”
Luo Er gritted her teeth, barely stopping herself from cursing.
“I still have to report it. It’s my duty,” Luo Si said, her expression firm and unyielding.
Luo Er couldn’t take it anymore and was about to stomp her foot and curse when Luo Yi pulled her back.
“Number Three’s world seems to be experiencing something unusual. Could you go and help her?”
“Number Three,” Luo Si seemed to pause for a moment.
“Yes,” Luo Er said. “It seems very troublesome. She probably can’t handle it alone.”
“If she fails, the Main God will likely punish her. Everyone else is busy and can’t spare a hand to help her,” Luo Yi also said, looking troubled.
Luo Si looked at Luo Yi and Luo Er, her gaze somewhat direct.
Luo Er rubbed the tip of her nose. “It’s not like you don’t know, Number Three has such a strange temper. We don’t get along with her. Besides, we don’t have special authorization for that world.”
“Yes, we’ve been in this world before, so we understand it relatively well. That’s why we came to see if we could help you,” Luo Yi said, her expression unchanged, continuing to spin a tale.
Luo Si fell silent. After a long moment, she nodded. “How do I get out?”
She reached out to try and break the cage, but it didn’t move an inch. “This cage is quite sturdy.”
Luo Er also tried with a serious expression, but after a while, she gave up.
“This Yun Shayi is formidable. I’ve never seen her capable of this before.”
Luo Yi pondered for a moment. “Crack.”
The cage seemed to have a mind of its own. Luo Si was ejected, and in an instant, the cage transformed into countless tentacles that wrapped around Luo Yi.
Everyone: “…”
Luo Yi’s eyebrow twitched. The tentacles were tied a bit too tightly, making it impossible for her to move.
“Um… Number One, you just stay here and be good. I suddenly remembered I have something else to do. I have full confidence in you.”
“I’ll take Luo Si and go first.” Luo Er blurted out a string of words and then hastily pulled a somewhat bewildered Luo Si and ran off.
Luo Yi: “…” She sighed, regarding the tentacled mass.
“Could you loosen up a bit? You’re binding me too tightly, it’s a little uncomfortable,” Luo Yi tried to reason.
But as soon as she finished speaking, the tentacles tightened further. They had originally only bound her hands and feet, but now they wrapped around her waist as well.
Luo Yi stiffened, then suddenly felt her body go weak.
Luo Tangtang, on the side, silently covered her eyes, unable to watch.
“Really now…” Luo Yi gazed at the tentacles, her eyes like cold stars.
The tentacles twitched, then seemed to loosen a bit reluctantly.
Good, we can still communicate. Luo Yi was just about to breathe a sigh of relief when the breath caught in her chest, stuck halfway.
With a “swish,” the tentacles wrapped around her again, layer after layer, until not a sliver of light could penetrate. From the outside, this must look like a ball! Luo Yi thought silently.
“Shhhk.” A tiny gap appeared in the cage, letting in a sliver of light.
Luo Yi felt there was absolutely no way to communicate anymore.
Silently, the inside of the cage transformed. Next to her, an assortment of snacks and flower tea appeared. There were even several potted plants on a small table, making for a rather pleasant sight.
Luo Yi’s expression was complicated. She pressed her lips together. “Yun Shayi!”
No one answered her.
She closed her eyes and rubbed her temples, her tone helpless as she called out again.
The air seemed to stir with a hint of disordered breathing. The tentacles slowly moved away, and sunlight shone in again. Yun Shayi’s face came into Luo Yi’s view.
Countless tentacles retreated behind Yun Shayi. She stood by the cage, her gaze fixed intently on Luo Yi’s face.
“Senior Sister,” Yun Shayi called out.
