Running Off With The Sect Senior Sister Chapter 50

Luo Yi

Luo Tangtang’s cat-like pupils became vertical slits. She swallowed hard, again and again, but looking at the goat milk in front of her, she just couldn’t bring herself to drink it.
Suddenly, a sigh sounded from above. Yun Shayi’s hand gently rested on her head. Her voice was soft, just like always, as if nothing had ever changed. “Good girl. If you don’t eat, it won’t be good for you.”
As if bewitched, Luo Tangtang stuck out her tongue and took a lick.
“Cough, cough.” The little cat’s delicate throat was instantly irritated. She coughed violently a few times, then sneezed.
“What a silly cat,” Yun Shayi suddenly chuckled, her tone laced with mockery.
Luo Tangtang immediately felt aggrieved. The Senior Sister from before would never mock me like this. Her heart ached with a touch of bitterness. Suddenly, even the goat milk didn’t seem so hard to swallow anymore; she was eating without tasting a thing.
Yun Shayi suddenly sighed again, “Sigh, I suddenly miss Senior Sister. But how can I go find her? If I don’t have a good reason, I’ll definitely be scolded.”
Hearing Yun Shayi’s lament, a sharp pain pierced Luo Tangtang’s heart. She immediately lifted her head, her gaze fixed warily on Yun Shayi.
The woman’s eyes sparkled, tinged with sorrow yet also holding a light. Her entire being seemed to be enveloped in a faint, gentle radiance.
Is this really Senior Sister? Luo Tangtang’s eyes flickered, her heart wavering. And at this particular time… She shook her head sharply. No, it can’t be… No, this IS Senior Sister. The System said I would meet her here.
“How about I take you to Senior Sister?” Yun Shayi suddenly proposed.
“Clang!” Luo Tangtang’s paw sent the bowl of goat milk flying. Her cat-like eyes narrowed into slits, and she stared intently at Yun Shayi, all the fur on her body on the verge of bristling.
Senior Sister… she’s going to use me to appease some other woman?
An unconscious growl rumbled in her throat. Luo Tangtang’s eyes stung, her heart clenched painfully, and her stomach churned as nausea welled up inside her.
“Huh? What’s wrong?” Yun Shayi asked quickly, noticing something was amiss.
Luo Tangtang kept her head down, silent, but her claws were already unsheathed, and her whole body trembled.
“Are you… angry?” Yun Shayi asked, startled.
Luo Tangtang trembled more violently. Her whole body felt as if it had been whipped, every pore aching. Her usually clear eyes were now an intense red.
“You… just stay here for now. Don’t run off. I’m leaving,” Yun Shayi said. She had a terrible feeling; sensing that staying longer might cause trouble, she turned and vanished in a flash.
Luo Tangtang, left standing there, was about to explode with anger.
‘Tangtang.’ Suddenly, the System’s weak voice sounded again.
Luo Tangtang didn’t speak. She flopped onto her front paws and buried her head between them.
System: “…”
‘My main body is in this world. I can’t stay out for too long.’
Luo Tangtang lifted her eyes; they were completely red.
“Her… is she Senior Sister?” Luo Tangtang asked, her voice trembling.
The System fell silent.
‘Shouldn’t you be able to sense it?’
“I don’t! I want a straight answer,” Luo Tangtang retorted sharply.
‘You do,’ the System said. ‘No matter how much things change, you would still recognize her.’
Luo Tangtang’s claws clenched, then suddenly relaxed. Her voice filled with deep helplessness, she asked, “What should I do?”
‘I just want to tell you this: be careful of Luo Yi.’
The System’s voice turned grave. ‘Luo Yi is doing something. It’s incredibly reckless. You must stop her. Otherwise, everything will fall apart, and everyone will die.’
“Luo Yi? What is she planning to do?” Luo Tangtang asked.
But the System gave no further response.
The cave was frighteningly silent. Luo Tangtang’s heart gradually sank. It felt as if a tangled thread in her mind was being violently pulled apart, giving her a headache. Everything had become unsettlingly strange.
She turned her head to look towards the entrance. Yun Shayi hadn’t placed any restrictive spells when she left, so Luo Tangtang should be able to get out.
She awkwardly jumped down from the table. Just as Luo Tangtang reached the entrance of the cave, she faltered and slowly backed away a few steps.
Outside was a sheer cliff!
Looking down, a heavy fog obscured the bottom. She had just accidentally kicked a small stone off the edge with her front paw, and there was still no sound of it landing.
She glanced down at her small body, paused for a moment, and then leaped straight off. Her body plummeted downwards, only to stop abruptly in mid-air as a pair of snow-white wings slowly unfurled from her back.
Her White Tiger clan possessed wings, though she herself had rarely used hers.
Many spiritual beasts flew high above the Supreme Immortal Sect. Luo Tangtang, small in size and having concealed her aura, reached Misty Peak in no time.
She remembered that Luo Yi possessed ice-type spiritual roots.
Upon reaching Misty Peak, Luo Tangtang didn’t retract her wings. Instead, she spread them wide, pressing them down to shield her small body, and hugged her tail tightly to herself.
It’s so cold! Luo Tangtang couldn’t help but sneeze. The force of it was so strong that she tumbled a few times in the snow.
“Achoo!” Luo Tangtang sneezed again.
Perhaps it was because it was so cold that she instinctively wanted to curl into a ball. But before she could, someone grabbed her and scooped her up.
However, the person’s movements were very gentle, exceedingly careful, as if holding a precious treasure. They cradled her softly in their arms, one hand stroking her gently.
She immediately relaxed, her eyes half-closing in comfort. The person’s embrace was very warm, yet it carried a faint, cool fragrance.
A cool fragrance? Luo Tangtang’s eyes snapped open. Her gaze fell upon plain white robes and a pair of light silver eyes. Against the backdrop of the snow-covered landscape, those eyes appeared exceptionally clear and pale, like a pool of limpid spring water.
Luo Yi! Luo Tangtang’s body instantly tensed.
Luo Yi observed her reaction, a complex look in her eyes. She lowered her eyelids, concealing her emotions, and simply stood there, motionless.
Luo Tangtang didn’t dare to move either, just staring blankly at her.
The wind and snow grew stronger. A clump of heavy snow hit Luo Tangtang on the tip of her nose, making her flinch.
The next moment, a wave of warmth enveloped her, and the biting wind and snow were blocked out.
Luo Yi’s arms around Luo Tangtang tightened slightly, and then she turned and walked away.
What is she doing? Luo Tangtang’s eyes widened in confusion.
Could Luo Yi have recognized me? That can’t be right. Didn’t Luo Er say Luo Yi had given up her special privileges and was now, at most, just a cultivator with a relatively high cultivation base? Besides, I still have the previous Demon King’s concealment art active. It’s impossible for her to have found me out.
Besides, even if she did recognize me, Luo Yi wouldn’t be this affectionate, would she?
As Luo Tangtang was lost in thought, she felt a pair of hands gently caressing her ear tips. This gesture from Luo Yi was so warm that in no time, Luo Tangtang’s ears grew hot, and a pleasant warmth spread through her entire body.
Luo Tangtang, however, felt a little uneasy. She shook her head, trying to dislodge the hands, but they remained as firm as stone, not budging an inch.
She shook her head until she felt dizzy, but Luo Yi’s hands didn’t budge. Finally, her head drooped to one side, and she went still.
Luo Yi quietly watched the little cat now limp against her wrist, a hint of a smile in her eyes.
Bright lanterns shone brilliantly. A small pavilion stood majestically amidst a land of ice and snow, the wind and blizzard mysteriously vanishing as they approached it. Under the dim lamps and bright moon, when Luo Tangtang groggily opened her eyes, such a scene greeted her, leaving her utterly astounded.
Inside the pavilion, a warmth unlike that of the frigid Misty Peak enveloped her. It was exquisitely designed with terraces and waterside verandas. Green vines twined around the railings, adorned with lustrous, nearly transparent white flowers. The tip of each petal shimmered with a silvery light, as pure and bright as moonlight.
Even more remarkably, beneath the carved white jade floor tiles, an unseen current flowed—a hot spring, its source unknown. When Luo Tangtang jumped down from Luo Yi’s arms, she immediately felt the warmth under her paws.
“Do you like it?” Luo Yi asked.
Luo Tangtang had been marveling at the pavilion, but Luo Yi’s sudden question startled her, and her heart began to pound.
She turned her head somewhat stiffly to look at Luo Yi.
She thought she saw a fleeting shadow, a hint of darkness, pass through Luo Yi’s eyes. Luo Tangtang immediately fidgeted with her front paws, feeling flustered.
Silence permeated the air.
After a long moment, Luo Yi finally spoke, “I truly didn’t know the White Tiger clan had one such as you.”
She bent down again, intending to pick Luo Tangtang up, but the little cat swiftly dodged her. Luo Yi paused, then silently straightened up without saying anything.
“Don’t worry, I won’t hurt you,” Luo Yi said, her expression earnest. She then added, “I really won’t.”
“Senior Sister!” A clear, bright voice called out.
Yun Shayi ran in. Upon seeing Luo Tangtang on the floor, her face immediately registered surprise.
“Little Cutie! How did you get here?”
“My place is so high up, how did you get down?” Yun Shayi exclaimed, rushing over to scoop up Luo Tangtang.
But Luo Tangtang covered her face with her paws. I’m not your cat!
“Huh? What kind of cat is this?” Yun Shayi wondered, staring in surprise at the wings that had suddenly appeared on its back.
Luo Yi’s lips tightened as she took Luo Tangtang from Yun Shayi’s grasp.
“Perhaps you’ve mistaken her for another,” Luo Yi said.
“Mistaken her?” Yun Shayi echoed, her eyes filled with doubt.
“Mm. Cats do look very similar, after all. Perhaps Junior Sister is mistaken.”
“Impossible.” Yun Shayi suddenly shook her head with conviction.
She suddenly reached her hand towards Luo Tangtang’s rear, startling the little cat, who instantly shrank back into Luo Yi’s embrace.
Luo Yi smoothly evaded Yun Shayi’s hand. This Yun Shayi…
“The cat I have at home, her tail has no fur on it,” Yun Shayi stated, her expression completely serious.
Luo Tangtang: “…” She stared at Yun Shayi in horror, then turned her gaze to Luo Yi.
“My cat is also very facially expressive,” Yun Shayi added.
The more Luo Tangtang heard, the more alarmed she grew. Suddenly, her tail was quietly grasped. A cool sensation spread through it, making it tingle.
The next moment, Luo Yi, with unhurried composure and an air that brooked no argument, presented Luo Tangtang’s tail. “Junior Sister, you truly are mistaken. This cat of mine has a furry tail.”
“What?” Yun Shayi rubbed her eyes in disbelief. “But I clearly saw it was furless just now!”
“Perhaps the light here is a bit dim, and Junior Sister didn’t see clearly.”
“I—!” Yun Shayi looked bewildered.
“My cat also smells strongly of milk.”
Finally, her lips moved, and she said, “She especially loves to drink goat milk.”
