When Yun Su said she had met someone from the Eleventh Heaven, Bai Moqing’s first thought was Sikou Yan. Other than Sikou Yan, no one would mention the Eleventh Heaven.
But as Yun Su continued, Bai Moqing felt that the person was not Sikou Yan.
Yun Su said, “At that time, I was still a young flood dragon. My cultivation was about the same as Feiyue’s. With only a casual pinch of her fingers, I could not move. She brought me to the collapsed abyss and told me that as long as I cultivated properly, I would one day encounter the chance to become a dragon. Later, I became the divine beast guarding the world. I stayed in the abyss, cultivating while guarding the Third Heaven.”
Bai Moqing did not know whether Yun Su had seen Sikou Yan before. After Yun Su finished, Bai Moqing opened her phone and searched for photos of Sikou Yan. As a wildly popular big actress, Sikou Yan’s photos were easy to find.
Bai Moqing typed Sikou Yan’s name into the search bar, and photos quickly appeared. She casually opened a large image and asked Yun Su, “Was that person her?”
Yun Su took the phone and glanced at the photo. She immediately recognized the person in it as Sikou Yan. She and Feiyue had seen Sikou Yan’s advertisement while shopping before. At the time, Feiyue had told her this woman was a bad woman.
Yun Su returned the phone to Bai Moqing. “It was not her.”
Bai Moqing did not relax because of that. Back then, Yun Su had also said the cultivator Xiao Xing protected a thousand years ago was not Bai Moqing. It was normal if she could not recognize Sikou Yan now.
Bai Moqing lowered her eyes and thought for a while, then asked Yun Su, “I heard dragons are skilled in spatial arts and can travel through different worlds. Can you go to the Eleventh Heaven?”
Yun Su had never thought about this question before.
Sunlight poured through the window and fell over her body. Yun Su turned to look outside, her gaze following the sunlight up toward the sky.
The nine heavens people could see were actually only the scene of the First Heaven. The three thousand worlds overlapped with one another. Mortal eyes could not see other realms.
Under the sunlight, Yun Su’s eyes slowly turned red-gold. Her gaze passed through the boundary of this world and extended outward layer by layer.
She saw the Qiongcang Secret Realm again.
Without the God-Slaying Cauldron and the divine beast guarding the world, the collapsed god realm drifted like duckweed on water. Inside that god realm, the flowers, plants, and trees had grown even more lush than when she left.
The former Godly Heights, with its flowing stream and thick grass, was surrounded by pale moon-white spiritual energy. In the main hall of the God Palace, a crimson light pulsed outward again and again like breathing.
Yun Su withdrew her gaze and turned to Bai Moqing. “I do not know whether I can go to the Eleventh Heaven. I will first take you to the Third Heaven.”
As she spoke, she grabbed Bai Moqing’s wrist. In the blink of an eye, the two appeared in the sky, and Yun Su had also returned to her true form: the black dragon.
Wind blew past on both sides. Bai Moqing lay seated against Yun Su’s body, gripping her dragon scales tightly. She remembered that the Third Heaven was the Qiongcang Secret Realm, so she asked in confusion, “Why go there?”
A low, deep dragon cry came. Yun Su did not answer Bai Moqing’s question. She only reminded her, “Hold tight.”
Golden light burst from the dark black dragon scales. Yun Su circled in the sky several times. Clouds scattered and gathered again. Yun Su found the direction, then dove into the clouds like plunging into water.
A fierce astral wind rushed at them head-on, cutting Bai Moqing’s body until it hurt. Huge pressure squeezed her organs together.
A tearing pain came from her chest. It hurt so much that Bai Moqing’s brows tightened. A sweet, metallic taste surged up her throat. Bai Moqing clutched her chest and opened her mouth, spraying a mouthful of blood onto Yun Su’s dragon scales. The red was glaring.
In the kitchen, Feiyue was holding a two-liter bottle of fresh milk and gulping it down. Hearing the dragon cry, she ran out with the milk in hand. But where were Bai Moqing and Yun Su in the living room?
She was about to run to the window and look outside when there was a loud bang. Bai Moqing appeared out of thin air and fell in front of her, covered in blood, with more blood still spilling from the corner of her mouth.
Yun Su appeared right after. She dropped from midair and landed on her knees beside Bai Moqing, both hands braced on the floor as she gasped for breath. Seeing Bai Moqing unconscious, she quickly pushed Bai Moqing’s arm.
“Moqing. Bai Moqing…”
Feiyue froze, then threw aside the milk and rushed to them. “Qingqing!” She grabbed Yun Su’s clothes. “Yunyun, what happened to Qingqing?”
Waves of burning pain came from Yun Su’s back. Her eyes reddened, and her throat tightened. She shook her head without speaking.
She had wanted to take Bai Moqing through the realm boundary to the Third Heaven, but she had not known that only she could travel freely between worlds. Even though Bai Moqing was a cultivator, she could not withstand the astral wind between realms.
When they returned from the edge of the boundary, Bai Moqing had lost consciousness and fallen from Yun Su’s back. Yun Su had not had time to catch her.
Losing too much blood made Bai Moqing’s face pale and gray. Yun Su took two breaths and steadied herself, then bent to examine Bai Moqing’s body.
Looking at Bai Moqing, who seemed to have no life in her, Feiyue thought of how only minutes ago Bai Moqing had been sitting by the window, perfectly fine, basking in the sun. Feiyue could not control her tears. She broke down at once.
“Qingqing…”
A cultivator’s body was stronger than an ordinary person’s. As long as the soul remained, physical injuries were easy to heal.
After examining carefully, Yun Su found that aside from her body being covered in cuts from the astral wind, Bai Moqing’s soul and divine sense were also damaged. Yun Su pressed a hand to Bai Moqing’s chest, planning to heal the physical injuries first.
A warm current glowing with golden light slowly flowed into Bai Moqing’s body. It followed her meridians and repaired the split skin little by little. Once all the wounds on Bai Moqing’s body disappeared, Yun Su withdrew her hand and let out a long breath.
With that breath, pain tore through her back. Yun Su clenched her teeth and endured it.
Bai Moqing still did not wake. Feiyue cried until her face was wet with tears. She used her sleeve to wipe the blood from the corner of Bai Moqing’s mouth and asked with a sob, “Yunyun, why is Qingqing not waking up?”
“Her divine sense is damaged.” Guilt surged over Yun Su like a mountain flood. She rubbed Feiyue’s back and said, “Watch over her. I will go find Xiao Xing.”
Feiyue’s whole mind was on Bai Moqing, but at this moment she heard something different in Yun Su’s voice. Her heart tightened, and she grabbed Yun Su. “Are you hurt too?”
Yun Su shook her head. “No.”
Feiyue would not let go. “Just call her.” She felt Yun Su’s expression was a little dazed.
Only then did Yun Su seem to react. She nodded and explained, “I forgot for a moment.”
Feiyue called twice. Both calls rang until they hung up automatically. Xiao Xing did not answer.
“She is not picking up.” Feiyue was angry and anxious. Qingqing was hurt this badly, and Xiao Xing was not answering the phone.
She set down the phone and stood. “I will go to the company to find her. You take care of Qingqing.”
Watching Feiyue disappear, Yun Su looked at her own back. The blood Bai Moqing had spat onto her had become a blood lotus branded into her skin.
In the meeting room, Xiao Xing was holding a strategy meeting with the department managers. At her left, Tang Yue used the chance of handing documents to Xiao Xing to glance at An Huaigu. An Huaigu smiled back.
Showing affection openly under her eyes. Xiao Xing swept a cold glance at An Huaigu. An Huaigu quickly lowered her head and pretended to take notes seriously.
At the end of the conference table sat Wen Xiuming. He disliked this kind of meeting the most, but as a manager, he had to attend and had to act as if his morale was high and his energy was full.
His phone lay beside him while he took meeting notes. Suddenly, the screen lit up. A message from security appeared directly on the screen:
A young girl without an appointment is here to see President Xiao.
Wen Xiuming lifted his head and glanced at Xiao Xing, then replied:
President Xiao is busy.
He had just sent it when security immediately sent another message:
The girl is crying from worry. She insists on seeing President Xiao.
Feiyue remembered Bai Moqing’s warning. No matter what happened, she could not show demon arts in front of people. Looking at the tall building not far away, then at the guard in front of her who refused to let her in no matter what, Feiyue gritted her teeth and used a bewitching art.
The security guard, who had just been blocking Feiyue, went blank for a moment and then brought her into the company.
Seeing the lobby security guard, the gate guard pointed at Feiyue behind him and said, “Take her to President Xiao.”
“Isn’t President Xiao in a meeting?” The lobby guard looked at the gate guard in confusion. He felt the man looked a little strange. Then he looked at the red-eyed young girl behind him, and his suspicion grew.
“President Xiao agreed.” After saying that, the gate guard turned and left, leaving Feiyue alone in the lobby.
Once the man was gone, Feiyue looked at the lobby guard with pleading eyes. Seeing her harmless look, the lobby guard hesitated for a moment, then brought her upstairs.
Demons had sharp noses. As soon as Feiyue stepped out of the elevator, she sensed Xiao Xing. Excited, she quickly walked toward the meeting room.
Seeing this, the guard hurriedly pulled her back and lowered his voice. “President Xiao is in a meeting. Wait until the break, then go see her. I will take you over there.” He pointed to the reception room beside the meeting room.
Feiyue pulled her hand free. The obedient shyness she had shown in the lobby was gone. “I need to see her now!”
She shot forward like an arrow toward the meeting room. The guard wanted to chase her, but Feiyue had already opened the meeting room door.
Hearing the door open, the sales manager, who had been speaking confidently, stopped. Everyone turned toward the door. Being stared at by so many people at once, Feiyue nervously swallowed and said in a trembling voice, “Xiao Xing, I need you.”
Of everyone present, only Xiao Xing, An Huaigu, and Tang Yue knew Feiyue. An Huaigu sat near the door. Seeing Feiyue and remembering that Bai Moqing had not come to work today, she immediately stood and asked, “Did something happen to Little Bai?”
Feiyue bit her lip and nodded, staring straight at Xiao Xing.
Xiao Xing noticed blood on Feiyue’s sleeve. Her heart jumped hard. She spread her divine sense to check Bai Moqing and saw Bai Moqing lying on the bed, barely breathing.
She turned her head and said, “The meeting is postponed.”
Then she stood and quickly left the meeting room.
Once Xiao Xing left, the whole room burst into noise. An Huaigu saw that Xiao Xing’s expression was wrong and turned to look at Tang Yue. Tang Yue had noticed too. She nodded to An Huaigu, her eyes saying: Go. I will handle things here.
An Huaigu hurried after them.
The elevator went down. An Huaigu was so anxious she kept pressing the elevator button. By the time she chased out of the company building, Xiao Xing and Feiyue were already gone.
Xiao Xing had brought Feiyue into the elevator. Her private elevator had no camera. The moment the doors closed, Xiao Xing grabbed Feiyue and returned home with a flash of divine thought.
Blood still stained the living room floor. After carrying Bai Moqing into the bedroom, Yun Su stayed beside the bed and watched over her.
Yun Su did not know what to do about Bai Moqing’s damaged divine sense. She did not know how to repair someone else’s divine sense. She had tried using her cultivation, but it had been useless. The cultivation she poured into the Divine Terrace was like rain falling into the sea, leaving no visible change.
Feiyue’s aura came from behind her. Yun Su turned back. Xiao Xing and Feiyue walked toward the bed one after the other.
Xiao Xing’s brows were tightly furrowed, and her face was dark. She sat sideways on the edge of the bed, took Bai Moqing’s hand, and asked Yun Su without lifting her head, “How was she injured?”
Yun Su clenched her fist. “I took her to the Third Heaven. When we crossed the boundary, she was hurt by the astral wind between realms.”
“Mm.” Xiao Xing only gave a soft sound to show she understood. She did not blame Yun Su. Calmly, she said, “Wait outside. I will save her.”
The door closed gently. Seeing Yun Su’s face full of guilt and self-blame, Feiyue held her hand and comforted her. “Xiao Xing is here. Qingqing will be fine.”
Yun Su lowered her eyes and shook her head. This was not only a question of whether Bai Moqing would be fine. Bai Moqing and Feiyue were both the people closest to her, and she had hurt one of them. She could not forgive herself.
Suddenly, wind and clouds surged, and the world changed color. A powerful, indescribable force came from all around. Yun Su turned and looked outside. Spiritual energy between heaven and earth was streaming endlessly toward them.
Yun Su turned back toward Bai Moqing’s bedroom, startled. “Such high cultivation.”
Feiyue felt the spiritual energy suddenly become dense. Hearing Yun Su murmur, she asked, “What did you say?”
Yun Su thought for a moment, then said, “Xiao Xing is saving Moqing.”
Was that not obvious?
Feiyue looked at Yun Su with worry and tightened her hold on Yun Su’s hand. “It will be fine.”
Then she kept staring at the bedroom.
Inside the bedroom, Xiao Xing held Bai Moqing’s hand with their fingers interlocked. Her other hand rested between Bai Moqing’s brows. She gathered spiritual energy from heaven and earth, using life force and her own cultivation to repair Bai Moqing’s damaged Divine Terrace and divine sense, and to gather and strengthen the soul that might vanish at any moment.
Time passed second by second. Bai Moqing’s consciousness returned to her body bit by bit. Feeling the warmth between her brows and smelling the familiar faint orchid scent, Bai Moqing knew Xiao Xing was beside her.
No matter where she was, no matter what injuries she suffered, as long as she thought of Xiao Xing, she would not be afraid.
“A-Xing.”
Waking from unconsciousness, Bai Moqing opened her eyes and saw Xiao Xing. She saw heartache and worry mixed into Xiao Xing’s gentle gaze. Bai Moqing smiled and said, “I am fine.”
She braced herself on the bed, wanting to sit up.
Xiao Xing was thoughtful and careful. She helped Bai Moqing sit. “Right now, you are only a cultivator. Other than this world, you cannot go anywhere.”
“Then am I trapped here for life?” Bai Moqing got out of bed and felt her body somewhat weak and floating.
“For now, it looks that way.” Xiao Xing raised a hand behind Bai Moqing’s back to guard against her suddenly falling. Her eyes watched Bai Moqing’s emotions. To her surprise, she did not see sadness on Bai Moqing’s face.
Feiyue and Yun Su had been waiting right outside the door. When the door opened and they saw Bai Moqing safe, both of them let out a breath of relief.
Feiyue reached out and touched Bai Moqing’s body. “Qingqing, does your body hurt?” Seeing Xiao Xing standing behind Bai Moqing, she hid her paw behind her back.
Bai Moqing answered gently, “It does not hurt.”
Yun Su knew she had wronged Bai Moqing. She lowered her head and apologized. “I am sorry.”
“We are family. You do not need to apologize.”
Xiao Xing wrapped an arm around Bai Moqing’s waist and glanced at the two people blocking the doorway, signaling Yun Su and Feiyue not to keep standing there.
Bai Moqing seemed to think of something and turned her head. “A-Xing, I am already fine. If you have work at the company, you can go back.”
Her light, smiling tone did not reveal what she wanted to do. Xiao Xing frowned and said nothing.
“I am fine, and I am not planning to do anything behind your back. If the company has nothing urgent, then stay with me and bask in the sun.” Bai Moqing raised a hand to touch her brow.
Seeing the two of them being intimate, Feiyue pulled Yun Su to the living room sofa.
The two had just sat down when Bai Moqing’s phone rang.
The phone on the coffee table buzzed. Feiyue glanced at it.
Doctor Xue.
This Doctor Xue was…
By the time Feiyue remembered who Doctor Xue was, Bai Moqing had already answered the call.
Receiving Xue Shichu’s call and hearing her drunkenly ask Bai Moqing to go to a bar and find her, Bai Moqing was very surprised. She instinctively turned to look at Xiao Xing. Xiao Xing took the phone from her hand.
“Where are you?”
Hearing Xiao Xing’s voice, Xue Shichu fell silent.
“If you do not want to say it, I am hanging up.”
“Wait…” Xue Shichu sighed and gave Xiao Xing the address.
Xiao Xing returned the phone to Bai Moqing. Bai Moqing smiled. “Go pick her up. I will stay at home.”
