Why Aren’t You Cultivating Immortality? (GL) Chapter 49

Chapter 49

Xiao Xing took the phone and pressed mute. Bai Moqing did not understand. “You’re not answering?”
“Do you want me to?” Xiao Xing hooked an arm around Bai Moqing’s neck and leaned close against her. Her gaze fixed on Bai Moqing. Bai Moqing hesitated slightly, stroked Xiao Xing’s hair, and said, “Answer it.”
“All right.” Since Bai Moqing wanted her to answer, Xiao Xing obediently answered. Her finger slid across the screen, and she lifted the phone to her ear.
“Hello.” Along with her cool voice, two rising and falling breaths reached Sikou Yan’s ears.
Sikou Yan pretended not to hear them and went straight to the point. “President Xiao, at midnight tonight, would you honor me by watching a movie together?”
Her new movie premiered at midnight tonight.
Xiao Xing refused without thinking. “I have plans tonight.” Her hand casually brushed across Bai Moqing’s collarbone. The tickle made Bai Moqing let out a soft hum without meaning to, and Xiao Xing’s heart swayed.
As if remembering something, Xiao Xing said, “I have time tomorrow.”
But for the next few days, Sikou Yan had no time. Aside from roadshows, she also had to join several leading cast members in two variety shows to promote the movie.
“I don’t have time tomorrow. What a pity.” Sikou Yan’s gaze fell on the table. In front of her sat a dark brown qin case. Inside lay a guqin that looked valuable at a glance.
She hooked a finger and plucked a string. The sound of the qin reached Bai Moqing’s ears. It was very soft, but very clear.
Bai Moqing wanted to listen more carefully, but Xiao Xing hung up and even turned off the phone. Had she imagined it?
“A-Xing, did you hear qin music just now?”
The walls had very good soundproofing. Xiao Xing had not heard any qin music. She glanced at the room next door and asked, “Where did the qin music come from?” Then she continued her emotional exchange with Bai Moqing.
Bai Moqing held down Xiao Xing’s wandering hand and said, “When you were on the phone with Sikou Yan, qin music came from her side.”
Xiao Xing’s movements paused. She turned over and lay beside Bai Moqing, looking at her from the side. “Xiao Mo, there are very few surviving cultivators in this world. I know every single one of them.”
Cultivators had lifespans too. They could keep their appearance from aging, but they could not keep their inner strength forever. One day, they would still wither. The cultivators who had once numbered in the tens of thousands had returned to chaos one after another. Now, fewer than a hundred remained.
“Is there a chance Sikou Yan is not a cultivator, but can still live forever?” Bai Moqing put on her clothes and sat up. “I once met people who did not age or die. Time had stopped on them. Could Sikou Yan be the same?”
Seeing Bai Moqing’s serious face, Xiao Xing felt sour inside. She hugged Bai Moqing’s waist and said, “Nine out of ten things you’ve said tonight have been about Sikou Yan. If you’re that curious about her, why don’t you go ask her?”
To be honest, that was exactly what Bai Moqing wanted to do. Unfortunately, her divine sense could not find Sikou Yan. Her gaze fell on Xiao Xing’s face. Seeing Xiao Xing’s resentful eyes, Bai Moqing quickly put that thought away.
She lowered her head, cupped Xiao Xing’s cheeks, kissed the corner of her lips, and said softly, “A-Xing, let’s continue.” Her long leg brushed over Xiao Xing’s body as she moved on top of her.
Whatever Sikou Yan was, Bai Moqing pushed it all to the back of her mind for now.
Her body soon grew hot. Bai Moqing hummed softly, but Xiao Xing drew back.
“Xiao Mo, do you want it?” Her voice was a little hoarse, carrying a smile. This was clearly punishment for Bai Moqing mentioning Sikou Yan all night.
Their hair tangled together like intertwined branches, impossible to separate. Bai Moqing buried herself against Xiao Xing’s shoulder. “A-Xing, stop teasing me.” She knew what Xiao Xing wanted her to do and took the initiative to meet her.
But every time she touched her, Xiao Xing’s hand retreated. This time, Xiao Xing caught her hand and guided it.
“Xiao Mo, have you ever tried solving it yourself?”
“No.” After Bai Moqing said it, she realized that today, “no” had become “yes.”
How could Xiao Xing do something like this!
She wanted to pull her hand away, but Xiao Xing held her firmly, pressing her hand into motion while speaking nonstop by her ear. “Xiao Mo, do you like this?”
Bai Moqing felt as if Xiao Xing was about to drive her mad. “A-Xing, this feels awful.” Her waist was sore, and she had fallen into a deep sea of desire. Only Xiao Xing could save her. Bai Moqing threw away her reserve and begged for mercy beside Xiao Xing’s ear.
After bullying her enough, Xiao Xing let go of her hand and kissed the corner of her mouth. “Good girl.”
At last, Xiao Xing stopped teasing her. Bai Moqing, finally satisfied, could not help letting out a sigh. She lifted Xiao Xing’s long hair and stroked it behind her, calling her name with deep feeling. Xiao Xing responded to her, smiling with countless charms.
The little orange cat curled into a ball and lay outside Bai Moqing’s bedroom door. A restriction had been set inside, so she could not see anything. The little orange cat meowed pitifully, envying Xiao Xing for being able to sleep with Bai Moqing.
When Yun Su returned, she saw Feiyue sleeping not on the bed and not on the sofa, but on the carpet outside Bai Moqing’s door. Her expression froze. “Why are you sleeping here?”
The little orange cat stood, shook her messy fur, changed into human form, and threw herself into Yun Su’s arms. “Yun Yun, Xiao Xing has slept with Qingqing for two nights in a row. I’m afraid something will happen to Qingqing.”
Yun Su had not returned home in a long time. She glanced at the bedroom door. What could two people do inside a bedroom? Nothing more than clouds and rain, the pleasures of lovers. She pushed Feiyue out of her arms and smiled as she stroked her head.
“Nothing will happen.” Then she pulled Feiyue into their own bedroom.
The sun was bright, and the weather was excellent. When Bai Moqing woke in Xiao Xing’s arms, it was already noon.
It was rare to still see Xiao Xing the day after pleasure. Bai Moqing closed her eyes, shrank deeper into her arms, and prepared to sleep a little longer.
Xiao Xing slowly opened her eyes. Her hand moved to Bai Moqing’s back and gently rubbed it for her. A tingling itch climbed along Bai Moqing’s spine and surged into her heart. Bai Moqing reached back and held Xiao Xing’s hand. “Don’t move.”
“You’re not sore?” Xiao Xing raised her arm around Bai Moqing’s shoulders and rubbed her chin against Bai Moqing’s forehead affectionately.
Without the cover of darkness, Bai Moqing was really too embarrassed to answer that kind of question in broad daylight. After sleeping in Xiao Xing’s arms for a little while, she got up.
In the living room, Yun Su and Feiyue sat side by side on the sofa. Hearing the door open, they turned toward the bedroom at the same time. Their gazes made it seem as if they knew exactly what Bai Moqing and Xiao Xing had done all night.
“Morning.” Bai Moqing greeted them. Seeing Yun Su, she asked curiously, “Why are you back?”
Yun Su was just about to answer when Feiyue pointed at the clock on the wall. “It’s past twelve.” Her face was full of concern as she asked Bai Moqing, “Qingqing, did Xiao Xing torment you so much that you forgot the time?”
Xiao Xing was right behind Bai Moqing. Hearing the word “torment,” she could not help laughing. This little cat demon understood quite a bit.
From the corner of her eye, Yun Su saw that Feiyue was about to keep talking. Holding back a laugh, Yun Su quickly touched the back of Feiyue’s hand, signaling her to shut up.
Bai Moqing felt a little embarrassed. Yun Su considerately brought the topic back and said, “Inside the barrier, I sensed a chaotic space. A secret realm may be about to appear in the world.”
Qiongcang Secret Realm had only appeared not long ago. Why was another secret realm appearing? Bai Moqing turned to look at Xiao Xing, hoping Xiao Xing would know.
Xiao Xing did know. The secret realm about to appear was the True Dragon Secret Realm.
That secret realm had first appeared in ancient times. It was the ancient true dragon tomb.
The first dragon born from the spiritual energy of heaven and earth was called True Dragon. It was born with the ability to summon wind and rain, ride clouds and mist, and travel through different spaces and worlds.
After living alone for several million years, it sank itself into the vast sea. Tens of thousands of years later, it became the True Dragon Secret Realm. When the secret realm appeared in the world, people could see a dragon soul circling.
Many people had seen the True Dragon Secret Realm. Very few could enter it. Of those who entered and came out again, there were even fewer.
The True Dragon Secret Realm had not appeared for tens of thousands of years. It was normal that Bai Moqing did not know about it. Xiao Xing looked at Yun Su. “You can sense it?”
Yun Su remembered what the god who had come down from the eleventh heaven once said to her. She nodded. “My fated chance has probably arrived.”
She had also been born from the spiritual energy of heaven and earth. Only, she had been born without horns, so she was only a flood dragon. Only after cultivating dragon horns could she become a dragon.
Xiao Xing walked up to Yun Su and raised a hand to touch the spot between her brows. A stream of consciousness entered Yun Su’s sea of consciousness.
Right in front of Bai Moqing and the little orange cat, Xiao Xing and Yun Su now had a secret. Bai Moqing could tell that even if she asked, they would not tell her.
Sikou Yan’s afternoon flight would take her out of H City. After calling her assistant and agreeing to meet at the company, she began packing.
There was not much to bring. Mostly cosmetics, skin care products, and intimate clothes. The formal dresses for the roadshows would be prepared by sponsors, advertisers, and the management company.
The study door was open. Sikou Yan pulled her pure white suitcase into the living room, then turned and entered the study.
The qin case was open. Sikou Yan stroked the strings, ignoring the two people standing in front of her.
Bai Moqing could not describe how shocked she was. The qin sound last night had not been her imagination. Xiao Xing frowned slightly and took Bai Moqing away.
As soon as the two left, Sikou Yan raised her head. Her gaze landed exactly where they had just stood.
She closed the qin case and placed it back on the bookshelf.
The bookshelf took up an entire wall, but there were not many books on it. The qin case sat at the very center. Under the shelf that held the qin case, there was another case. Judging from its style, it was a sword case.
Sikou Yan stared at the sword case for a while in a daze, remembering some distant things from long ago.
After returning home, Xiao Xing made a call in front of Bai Moqing without avoiding her at all, asking the other side to investigate Sikou Yan’s family background.
When she finished the call, Bai Moqing said, “A-Xing, if someone investigated my background, they would only find that I am an ordinary person.”
Xiao Xing understood what she meant and smiled as she explained, “If the investigation says she is only an ordinary person, that will prove she is not ordinary.”
Bai Moqing admired this reverse thinking.
The little orange cat curiously jumped onto Bai Moqing’s shoulder. “Why are you investigating Sikou Yan? What’s ordinary or not ordinary? She’s Best Actress. How could she be ordinary?”
Seeing Xiao Xing glance at her with cold eyes, the little orange cat quickly jumped down from Bai Moqing’s shoulder and gave two cute, obedient meows.
Remembering that Bai Moqing’s phone had rung while they were gone, the little orange cat jumped onto the tea table and pushed the phone. “Qingqing, Annoying Person called you.”
“Annoying Person?” Xiao Xing looked at Bai Moqing.
Seeing Xiao Xing’s expression, Bai Moqing knew she had misunderstood. Bai Moqing explained, “It’s the person Feiyue finds annoying. Sister An.”
That matter had happened so long ago. Bai Moqing did not know why Feiyue still hated An Huaigu so much.
Bai Moqing called back. After two seconds of ringing, the call was hung up.
Strange. Why would Sister An hang up on her?
Very soon, a text came over. I’m driving. I can’t answer right now. At a glance, it was clearly a quick reply that had popped up when the call was declined.
“Strange. Sister An used to answer calls while driving. Why isn’t she answering today?”
Xiao Xing raised a brow. “Maybe there is someone in the car.”
Yesterday, after Bai Moqing left the company, Xiao Xing had told Tang Yue that An Huaigu was sick. She had also been kind enough to give Tang Yue An Huaigu’s home address.
Seeing Xiao Xing’s expression of knowing everything, Bai Moqing thought for a moment, then asked in shock, “It couldn’t be Tang Yue, right?”
Xiao Xing nodded and told Bai Moqing that Tang Yue had gone to An Huaigu’s home. Bai Moqing’s heart thumped after hearing it. Oh no. Sister An would definitely misunderstand and think Bai Moqing had called Assistant Tang over.
Wait. If Tang Yue was in the car now, then the two of them…
Too many things could happen in one night.
