“Who exactly am I?” Xiao Xing repeated Bai Moqing’s question in a cold, slow tone. She raised her hand and pinched Bai Moqing’s chin. Her slender fingers held Bai Moqing firmly in place and rubbed lightly.
Word by word, she gave Bai Moqing the answer. “I am your superior.”
After holding her breath, Bai Moqing only heard that answer. She did not believe it. With the left hand Xiao Xing was not holding, she gathered energy and struck Xiao Xing in the chest.
A faint white light still flashed in her palm. Xiao Xing flew out. Bang. She crashed into the white porcelain tea set on the coffee table, knocking it over. She rolled several times and fell heavily to the floor. The white porcelain shattered into pieces.
Pain spread through her whole body, especially her chest, which hurt as if it were about to split open. Xiao Xing clutched her chest and looked deeply at Bai Moqing. Then she fainted.
The spiritual energy protection Bai Moqing had imagined did not appear. Her heart dropped. A despair, as if she were about to lose Xiao Xing, covered the sky and earth.
Bai Moqing hurried over. “Xiao Xing! Xiao Xing!” Was Xiao Xing not able to make Bai Moqing lose all strength? How could she fail to withstand even one palm strike?
Blood kept spilling from the corner of Xiao Xing’s mouth, bright red and hot, shocking to see. The sheets were deep blue and plain, and the quilt of the same color was half folded flat on the bed. Bai Moqing carefully placed Xiao Xing on the bed. Her eyes were full of guilt as she looked at Xiao Xing and gently stroked her cheek.
Bai Moqing’s distinct-knuckled finger touched the space between Xiao Xing’s brows. A glow appeared at her fingertip. Bai Moqing erased everything that had just happened from Xiao Xing’s mind.
When Xiao Xing woke, the house was very quiet. Bai Moqing was already gone.

“Little Bai! You finally came back!” She knew Bai Moqing would definitely come to work.
“Sister An.” Bai Moqing called obediently and returned to her station.

“Bai Moqing, why was your phone off?” Before entering the office, Xiao Xing stood directly in the corridor and questioned her.

Xiao Xing had already walked to the sofa. Seeing Bai Moqing stand by the door without speaking, she said sternly, “Come here.”
