Li Lingjiang’s back pressed against the stone wall, now warmed by her body. She was soft all over. The steam had flushed her skin red. Her neck, chest, and inner thighs were covered in deep purple-red marks. It was not hard to imagine how much strength Yin Wu had used, or how fiercely she had tormented her.
There was still a mark on her neck from where the thread had tightened, and the marks on her wrists were even more obvious. Her legs were sore. Even while Yin Wu held her, she still trembled from time to time. The Jade-Bone Fan was wet as well. As Li Lingjiang’s awareness slowly returned, she did not know how to face such a messy scene.
Her inner garment had been loosened and clung to her skin. Yin Wu, on the other hand, still had her collar neat. The satisfied look on her face made it clear she was in a good mood. With one arm around Li Lingjiang’s back, she kissed her earlobe. “My Lord, can you get up?”
Li Lingjiang lowered her brows. From the corner of her eye, she saw the Jade-Bone Fan. Her fingers curled for a moment, and even her voice trembled. “Yin Wu, wash it clean before giving it back to me.”
Yin Wu’s chest shook as she laughed. She lifted Li Lingjiang out of the water and used magic power to dry the wetness. “My Lord, it is your own thing. Are you disgusted by it too?”
“Let go.” Expressionless, Li Lingjiang pulled away the hand Yin Wu had used to tie her sash. She turned her back. “Go out.”
“My Lord.” Yin Wu still wanted to say something, but Li Lingjiang’s gaze stopped her. Li Lingjiang said nothing, yet the warning in her eyes was clear.
Yin Wu gave in. She gently kissed the back of Li Lingjiang’s neck before turning away and quickly finding a place to change clothes.
Li Lingjiang’s legs were still shaking. She stood still for a while. Only after she adjusted to the strange feeling in her body did she begin to move. She did not know when things had changed between them. Yin Wu had become much bolder with her, even if Li Lingjiang had allowed it.
Li Lingjiang lowered her eyes. But she had never allowed Yin Wu to do anything to her beast tail.
She wiped the stinging corner of her eye with a fingertip. Tears from her body had made the skin there especially red. She had said it several times, but to Yin Wu, it seemed more like a different kind of fun.
It was truly… embarrassing, even though Li Lingjiang had prepared herself.
Li Lingjiang wrapped the bandages again. After putting on her upper robe, she struggled with the thread around her legs. The red thread was tangled around her thighs, then fell weakly to her calves. Her pale skin matched the bright color in a striking way. When Yin Wu controlled the red thread, her force would grow a little heavier.
Bending for too long made Li Lingjiang dizzy. She pressed the back of her hand to her head. She was not feverish. “Yin Wu.”
The young immortal came quickly. Her purpose was clear as she crouched down to untie the red thread. A smile rose in her eyes. She looked up at Li Lingjiang. “My Lord, I will help you.”
Li Lingjiang looked at her helplessly. She lightly pinched Yin Wu’s earlobe, then hooked a finger against her cheek. “You do nothing but tease me.”
Yin Wu’s speed in untying the red cord slowed again and again. Her fingertips pressed against Li Lingjiang’s thigh. She held Li Lingjiang’s gaze for several seconds, then her hand began to move upward, stopping at a soft, rounded place before traveling to Li Lingjiang’s waist.
“Yin Wu.” Li Lingjiang let out a breathy sound and placed her hand on Yin Wu’s shoulder. In the next second, the young immortal lifted her. Before Li Lingjiang could make another sound, her breath was completely stolen. She gave a light hum, her hand resting loosely on Yin Wu’s shoulder.
Biting, licking. The rise and fall of Li Lingjiang’s chest quickened. Her back pressed against the stone wall, and the fingers at her waist kept rubbing. The sharp feeling made the arch of her foot tighten.
“My Lord.” Yin Wu raised her head and rubbed against Li Lingjiang’s jaw. Her breath was low. “Your body is so hot.”
Li Lingjiang made a soft sound and half narrowed her eyes. “Maybe I stayed with you too long. The bath made me dizzy.”
As soon as she finished speaking, she turned her head and coughed dully. She bent a finger beneath her lips, and the color slowly left them.
Yin Wu did not linger anymore. She carried Li Lingjiang and quickly dressed her, then worriedly covered her hands. Her voice was full of self-blame. “I was careless. It would be bad if you caught cold.”
Most of Li Lingjiang’s quickly healed wounds were external. Her inner injuries were improving very slowly. She could now regulate the chaotic demonic energy in her body, but she still needed careful rest.
Perhaps because the thought that they were now together occupied most of Yin Wu’s mind, she felt the distance between them had been pulled very tight. She even wanted to stay with Li Lingjiang every moment. Such thoughts had never appeared before.
Li Lingjiang barely stopped coughing. She laughed softly. “You only realized now?”
Seeing her smile, Yin Wu could not help curving her own lips. She thought she might be mad.
The young immortal wrapped an arm around Li Lingjiang’s waist and dragged her closer, then buried her head in Li Lingjiang’s neck and rubbed against her. Half of Li Lingjiang’s face was squeezed until her cheek puffed up. Li Lingjiang hugged her back and patted her. Her words were a little muffled. “Let us go out soon. Do not make them wait too long.”
Only after holding her for a long while did Yin Wu let go. She even pulled Li Lingjiang’s collar higher, hiding the marks from her kisses. The black and white dragons twined around Yin Wu’s arm. With her other hand, she covered Li Lingjiang’s sleeve and hooked their fingers together as they walked out.
Ling Xin, who had been waiting outside, had a dark face. Only after seeing Li Lingjiang did his expression ease slightly. He stared at the two of them for a long time, then forced down his grief and anger, took out one of the few treasures he still had, and threw it to Wuzhi. Feng Luan also gritted his teeth and handed over something.
Li Lingjiang raised a brow. She withdrew her hand and did not explain. She only said, “Since everything has settled, please return, everyone.”
She folded her hands and bent slightly.
The four returned the salute. Many places in No-Return Mountain had never been recorded. Though this trip could not be called extremely dangerous, it had certainly not been simple. None of them could continue exploring alone.
Ling Xin’s body was still bent. His tone was not very bright, and he had no joy at receiving merit. “My Lord, are you… willing to return to the Demon Realm to recover?”
Li Lingjiang lowered her eyes to him. Suddenly, she smiled. The Jade-Bone Fan rested against the side of Ling Xin’s neck. Her voice was calm as water. “Why not tell me how I should conduct myself after returning?”
“It was the king’s order.” Ling Xin bent even lower. His eyes shut tightly, and the words seemed squeezed through his teeth.
Li Lingjiang withdrew the Jade-Bone Fan. She smoothed her sleeve, brushed away dust, and let her hand pause on Ling Xin’s back for a few seconds. Then she walked past him without looking back. Yin Wu followed close behind.
“Ling Xin, if the Demon Lord truly means that, let him come in person. If he does not, then we will meet again if fate allows. I brought no fame or profit with me when I was born, and I will not take anything when I die. I only have one breath left in this world. I, Li Lingjiang, have wronged no one, and I have wronged the demon clan even less.”
Li Lingjiang stopped and looked back at Ling Xin, her eyes gentle. “There is no need to worry about me. If I truly had such thoughts, I could never have survived back then.”
Ling Xin shook. In an instant, his tension loosened. When he lifted his eyes, they were full of longing and reluctance. He watched Li Lingjiang and Yin Wu’s backs grow farther and farther away, then gently released the sound-transmission talisman. “Ling Xin respectfully sends off My Lord.”
Wuzhi squeezed his shoulder. “My Lord understands you. After all, the new king is suspicious. Anyone would want to hold power in his own hands.”
“The king…” Ling Xin suddenly stopped speaking. He took a deep breath and changed the topic. “I did not expect My Lord to truly fall for a young immortal.”
“I cannot see what about Yin Wu attracts My Lord.”
Feng Luan’s rabbit ears rose, then fell. “No one can say for sure with such things. Yin Wu has put all her heart on My Lord. In these two thousand years, you know better than anyone who stayed beside My Lord. As for why Yin Wu fell for her, I think it is like an obsession.”
Wuzhi looked at him. “How so?”
Feng Luan shrugged. “Did Yin Wu not ascend to immortality to repay a debt? One trip to the mortal world equals a hundred years in the Immortal Realm. Besides, My Lord herself is especially worthy of respect. After being around her for a long time, it is normal for feelings to change a little. I just do not know how long it can last.”
Ling Xin nodded in agreement from the side. “When you put it that way, it makes sense.”
Only Qi San pressed down his black robe. After a silent moment, he spoke quietly. “I do not think so. I cannot say what is wrong, but Yin Wu’s feelings… are definitely not that simple. The twists inside are not something outsiders can clearly judge.”
He walked forward a few steps. In his palm were the two words Li Lingjiang had once given him: wait calmly.
Qi San’s voice was so low even he could barely hear it. “Qi San respectfully sends off My Lord.”
Li Lingjiang and Yin Wu returned by dragon. The wooden house was the same as before, except a fair amount of dust had gathered. Yin Wu had just walked inside when she choked and hurriedly ran back out. She stopped Li Lingjiang and led her away, casually taking a chair from her storage bag and then finding a stone table from somewhere. “Sit for a while. It has only been a few days, so how is there already this much dust? So dirty.”
The young immortal muttered, aggrieved, while carrying cleaning tools into the wooden house and working hard. The black and white dragons also did their best to help her.
Li Lingjiang wiped dust from the tabletop. She coughed twice in a low voice and only then slowly felt the swelling pain in her head. She supported her head with one hand and watched Yin Wu run back and forth. At first, she still had the energy to respond, but later she did not even know when she fell asleep. She only felt that her sweat-damp clothes were cold, yet her body was very hot.
She stretched out one arm and rested her head sideways on it, closing her eyes just like that. Her heavy breathing made Yin Wu, who had been busy, stop moving. Yin Wu put down her things and strode toward her. “My Lord?”
Yin Wu frowned, already sensing something wrong. The moment her hand touched Li Lingjiang’s forehead, she knew Li Lingjiang had a fever. She had likely caught cold at the hot spring. Yin Wu’s face tightened with regret. She lifted Li Lingjiang sideways and walked quickly toward the wooden house. At some point, thin sweat had appeared. When Yin Wu touched her back, it was soaked through. If she had discovered this any later, who knew how much Li Lingjiang would have forced herself to endure.
The black dragon was dragged out of the wooden house by the white dragon, who curled around its tail and even closed the door on the way. As soon as Yin Wu entered, strong spiritual power burst out around her. The originally dirty room instantly became clean. She carefully placed Li Lingjiang on the bed and used spiritual power to search her meridians.
Fortunately, it was only a simple chill.
Yin Wu pressed her lips tight and gently treated Li Lingjiang. Her thoughts suddenly fell on the place where she had originally left a mark. Her pupils shrank as if she were worried about something. Her brows tightened, and she focused on Li Lingjiang for a long time.
Had Wen Si become connected to it?
But judging from Li Lingjiang’s reaction, nothing seemed abnormal. Yin Wu suddenly thought of the Immortal-Entering Sect, which had many suspicious points.
She took a deep breath and held Li Lingjiang’s right wrist. Through the air, stroke by stroke, she carved with force.
Yin Wu rubbed the mark with her fingertip, and the writing appeared: Yin Wu.
Her things, her person. Not one could be stolen, even if it went against the heavenly path.
