Running Off With The Sect Senior Sister Chapter 58

Yun Shan

“Eat?” The little girl looked up, her somewhat round, large eyes slowly widening. She looked a bit dazed.

*This world’s center can’t be a fool, can she?* Luo Er thought, looking at Yun Shayi, her eyelid twitching.

“Big… Immortal Sister.” The other girl opened her mouth, staring blankly at Luo Tangtang, and finally managed to say these few words.

Luo Tangtang’s body trembled slightly. She pressed her lips together, her jaw tight, and said in a choked voice, “My name is Luo… Yi, not some Immortal Sister.”

Little Yun Shayi, however, had come to her senses by now. Her cheeks were flushed, her large eyes blinked, and her small hands fidgeted nervously. She lowered her head and said softly, “Grandma said I shouldn’t go with strangers.”

Luo Tangtang didn’t speak. The next moment, a storage pouch fell on Little Yun Shayi’s head.

“Ah?” The girl fumbled to pick it up, looking at Luo Tangtang with a confused expression.

“It’s for you,” Luo Tangtang said, lowering her eyes.

“Didn’t you say you had no money?” Luo Er naturally knew what was in the storage pouch. Her eyes widened in anger, a fiery rage directed at Luo Tangtang.

Luo Tangtang shot her a cold glance but said nothing. She just gripped Luo Er’s hand tightly and took a few steps as if to leave.

“Big Sister!” Little Yun Shayi called out from behind.

Luo Tangtang paused, then turned and quickly walked back to Yun Shayi. She lightly tapped the girl’s forehead with her index finger, and a ray of light vanished in an instant.

“S-sister, your thing.” Little Yun Shayi seemed startled by this. Her mouth hung open, and she carefully held up the storage pouch.

“It’s yours,” Luo Tangtang said concisely. Before the other girl could speak again, she grabbed Luo Er and vanished from the spot.

Yun Shayi’s eyes widened, and she murmured, “She really is an Immortal Sister!”

“Why did you run? Didn’t the Main God tell us to follow her?” Luo Er asked, looking at Luo Yi’s hurried steps. She couldn’t understand what was wrong with her.

“The Main God told us to investigate why this world is unstable, not to follow her,” Luo Tangtang shot Luo Er a cold glance.

Luo Er crossed her hands behind her head, a look of utter despair on her face. She tried to reason with Luo Tangtang, “If the world is unstable, who else would we look for if not the world’s center?”

Luo Tangtang still ignored her.

A wave of sorrow and heartache washed over Luo Er. Her eyes filled with worry. *When will this mission ever be completed? It seems endless!*

Luo Tangtang glanced down and saw Luo Er’s small face clouded with worry. Her own irritation eased a bit, and a trace of amusement at Luo Er’s misfortune glinted quite unkindly in her eyes.

“What are you so smug about?” Luo Er’s face darkened, her tone unfriendly. “The Main God gave us an order. If this world collapses, we’re all done for.”

Luo Tangtang neither confirmed nor denied it.

“Fellow Daoists, please wait.”

Just as Luo Er was about to argue further with Luo Tangtang, the sound of hurried footsteps came from behind them.

They both turned around and saw a limping, half-baked Daoist priest walking over.

He wore Daoist robes, was barefoot, and seemed a bit eccentric. Seeing Luo Tangtang and Luo Er stop, he immediately rushed forward in a few quick steps and began to pace around them, a thoughtful expression on his face.

Luo Tangtang and Luo Er exchanged a glance, both seeing the surprise in each other’s eyes.

Luo Er tilted her head, her expression clearly saying, *I’d like to see what you’re up to.*

The Daoist priest didn’t disappoint them. He circled them again and again, then clapped his hands and exclaimed with an amazed look, “Marvelous, truly marvelous! I never thought I’d see such a thing on my trip out.”

“I see that you two are naturally gifted and have extraordinary physiques. How about it? Are you interested in becoming my disciples and embarking on the great path of cultivation?”

The Daoist priest stroked his non-existent beard and said with a grin.

Luo Tangtang: “…”
Luo Er: “…”

*He really didn’t disappoint. Such cringeworthy lines, this has the Main God’s handiwork written all over it.*

Luo Tangtang and Luo Er’s expressions were surprisingly identical at this moment; both stared at him silently with dead-fish eyes.

The Daoist priest’s thick skin rarely failed him, but now he awkwardly rubbed his nose. “Don’t look at me like that. I’m, at the very least, a leading figure in the Supreme Immortal Sect.”

“The Supreme Immortal Sect, you know? The number one sect in the current cultivation world.”

The old Daoist priest chuckled. “So, impressive, right? Want to join?”

The Supreme Immortal Sect…

“Yes!” Luo Er suddenly said loudly.

*The world’s center will go there. I must go.*

Luo Tangtang frowned, her index finger curling slightly, her expression grave.

“Aiya, the little doll has good judgment.” The old Daoist priest’s smile widened.

He rubbed his hands together again, looking at Luo Tangtang with a grin.

“Luo Yi, Luo Yi,” Luo Er tugged Luo Tangtang’s sleeve, pulling her from her thoughts.

“Let’s go, let’s go. Even if you don’t go, I’m going,” Luo Er said softly.

“Alright,” Luo Tangtang replied after a moment, her eyes lowered.

“Alrighty then!” The old Daoist priest instantly beamed with joy.

“My name is Hermit Yun Shan, and my Daoist title is Zihan.”

Luo Tangtang and Luo Er: “…Mm.”

“Ahem, do you have anything else to attend to? Do you need to tell your families?” Yun Shan coughed lightly and asked slowly.

“No need,” Luo Er shook her head, unconcerned.

“Good!” Yun Shan clapped his hands again, his smile brilliant. “The Great Dao is unfeeling; what a clear and detached mindset!”

Luo Tangtang’s mouth twitched, and a vein throbbed at her temple.

Yun Shan shifted his gaze to Luo Tangtang. She shook her head and said nothing.

“Then let’s go.”

Yun Shan suddenly called out loudly, “Old Yellow, Old Yellow!”

“What, Emperor?” A trace of confusion flickered across Luo Er’s face. *She had seen this word in the Main God’s new storybook. Does this world have them too?*

Before they could think too much, the ground shook violently. An old yellow ox suddenly appeared in mid-air. As it neared the ground, its body grew larger, until it was the size of a small, half-story building by the time it landed.

“Come on, this is my old partner,” Yun Shan said with a grin, patting the large yellow ox.

“Get on.” With a light flick of his sleeve, Yun Shan made their figures flash and land on the large yellow ox’s back.

Luo Er, finding it rather novel, bent down and touched it here and there.

Almost as soon as they had steadied themselves, the yellow ox floated into mid-air.

“Hahaha, this is great! I’ve accepted two promising talents with the aura of the Great Dao this time. They won’t be able to beat me now, will they?” A smug look appeared on Yun Shan’s face.

“Hey,” Luo Er suddenly tugged Luo Tangtang’s sleeve. “Shouldn’t cultivators discard worldly thoughts and desires? This guy doesn’t seem like an enlightened master. Are we being tricked?”

The curve of Yun Shan’s lips instantly froze.

Luo Tangtang said expressionlessly, “Isn’t it a bit late to be thinking about that now?”

“Aaah—!” For some reason, the old yellow ox suddenly sped up and even did a somersault in the air. If the two hadn’t desperately clung to Yun Shan, they might have fallen off.

“Bleargh—!” Luo Er lay on the grass beside a large rock, dry heaving. She had practically been flung all the way here. Now she was dizzy, her head throbbed, and waves of nausea washed over her. It was awful.

The old yellow ox stood nearby, with Yun Shan stroking and comforting it. The ox snorted lightly through its nostrils, its large, bell-like eyes flicked a glance at Luo Er, and then it vanished in an instant.

“It-it-it, did it just glare at me?” Luo Er’s eyes widened too, her face full of disbelief.

“No, it only glanced at you,” Luo Tangtang corrected.

“What’s the difference?” Luo Er’s mouth twitched.

Luo Tangtang’s eyes held a teasing look. “The difference is huge.”

“Alright, alright,” Yun Shan waved his hand, stepping in to smooth things over.

“What’s your relationship?” Yun Shan’s voice was gentle, and he looked at Luo Tangtang and Luo Er with a kind expression.

Luo Er felt a chill from his gaze. “No relationship.”

“She’s my servant,” Luo Tangtang added.

She also pressed down Luo Er’s hand, which was about to cause trouble.

A helpless look appeared on Yun Shan’s face.

“Right, what were your names again?”

*Great, only now does he remember to ask for their names.*

“Luo Yi. I’m Luo Er.” Luo Er pointed at Luo Tangtang, then at herself.

“Good. Then Luo Yi will be the Eldest Martial Sister, and Luo Er will be the Younger Martial Sister,” Yun Shan decided with a grin.

“Eldest Martial Sister?”
“Younger Martial Sister?”

“That’s right,” Yun Shan said with a smile.

“Just the two of us?” Luo Er felt completely dismayed this time.

“Yes,” Yun Shan said.

The Main God had given them great power, but it was limited to three years. Within these three years, their combat strength would be considered top-tier in this world. However, if their mission wasn’t completed after three years, they would be finished if they encountered danger.

Therefore, they had to familiarize themselves with this world. The path of cultivation was one they definitely had to take.

*But, what was this situation now?*

Luo Er looked at the huge mountain peak before them. It was shrouded in mist, with a biting chill in the air. The branches of withered trees were covered in frost, creating a desolate and mournful scene.

“Just find a spot on this mountain, dig a cave, and settle down. After a few days, when the disciple recruitment hall opens, I’ll take you there.”

After saying this, Yun Shan tossed them two storage rings and ran off.

“He’s really unreliable,” Luo Er said, her small face grim.

“Mm, start digging the cave,” Luo Tangtang said, looking at Luo Er.

Luo Er’s small face darkened.

*They were currently disguised as ordinary people, with no cultivation base at all. And now she was supposed to dig a cave?*

Luo Er stretched out her hand, raising it high above her head, intending to strike down directly.

“Disguise. No magic allowed,” Luo Tangtang said lightly, her voice a bit cool.

Luo Er froze, her hand halting in mid-air. The next moment, she lowered it, and a shovel appeared in her hand.

She gritted her teeth, angrily threw the shovel on the ground, rolled up her sleeves, and said fiercely, “I’ll dig.”

“Mm,” Luo Tangtang then nodded.

“Aaargh!” Luo Er picked up the shovel and began to dig furiously, her eyes turning red.

Until the sky turned pitch black, dotted with a few brilliant stars, and the night grew deep.

Yun Shan arrived, a surprised look on his face.

“What are you two doing?” His tone was bewildered.

“Digging. A. Cave!” Luo Er bared her white teeth in a fierce grin, spitting out each word.
