Running Off With The Sect Senior Sister Chapter 44

Starting Over

“Isn’t this pretty good too?” Luo Tangtang’s face was a bit stiff, and her lips twitched.
If we start over, everything will be uncertain, even the opposite. The access card will break limitations, but maybe… this time she won’t like you anymore.
Besides, the time tunnel is full of dangers. My highest authority can only open it; I can’t avoid those dangers. If you encounter any danger…
“What else can I do?” Luo Tangtang retorted, her eyes dull. Yun Shayi would die. This realization gradually filled her heart with despair and fear, eroding it. Her heart felt as cold as if it had sunk to the bottom of Ethereal Peak’s eternally frozen ice lake.
She shouldn’t have just focused on doubting Senior Sister. She should have taken her to a place where no one could find them. All secrets would eventually be explained before time, not like now.
“I’ve forgotten many things. I know you’ve also hidden many things from me. I don’t want to live in a daze like before anymore.”
“Before, anything was fine, but not now. No matter what, I have to be with Senior Sister. It’s just that this time, I’ll start from the beginning, accompany Senior Sister, even if she might not like me this time.”
“This time, I want to give her a perfect life, not like how it’s described in the story, not like this.” Luo Tangtang’s expression was serious as she looked at Yun Shayi lying in her arms. Her life force was gradually draining away, her face deathly pale, like a silent doll lying there, motionless.
Silently, a wisp of faint Azure Flame leaped onto Yun Shayi’s fingertip, then slowly merged and dissipated.
If… if it doesn’t work, disappearing together would be fine too. No matter what, let’s be together!
She looked at the horizon. She didn’t know when, but dark clouds had gathered there. The low sky showed a patch of blood-red, ominous and oppressive.
“Senior Sister, can you sleep for a while first?” Luo Tangtang lowered her eyes and gently kissed Yun Shayi’s forehead, her expression tender. With a slight movement of her fingers, she opened Yun Shayi’s storage ring, and a crystal coffin appeared beside them.
Luo Tangtang carefully placed Yun Shayi inside, her hands trembling slightly. “System, can you put Senior Sister into the system space?”
“I don’t want to leave her here alone. I promised to always be with her.”
Okay, then I’ll take you back to the very beginning. After a long silence, the system spoke, its tone strange, carrying an emotion Luo Tangtang couldn’t understand.
But there was nothing to care about. Luo Tangtang’s usually round, cat-like eyes suddenly became firm, as if she had made up her mind.
A hurricane struck. A powerful tearing sensation pressed down on her. The surrounding space rippled faintly, like a stone dropped into a calm lake.
Gradually, the tearing sensation grew stronger. A wave of weightlessness hit her, and she was sucked into a strange space. Countless tiny, light-blade-like things drifted within, moving very fast. Luo Tangtang’s entire body was cut by these light blades.
Tangtang, be careful. These are all torrents of time. Being injured by them might cause some after-effects.
Luo Tangtang bit her lower lip hard. What was there to be careful about? Her whole body was covered in wounds. She looked down at her injuries. A faint light covered them, as if tiny shards were glinting within. Intense, stabbing pain wracked her, feeling like her bones were about to shatter.
The access card could only exert the system’s maximum capability, but it wasn’t the Main God, after all. Forcibly opening the time tunnel was extremely dangerous.
Luo Tangtang was exhausted, both mentally and physically. Although the system had absorbed a large part of the damage for her, she still struggled. Not only did she have to control herself from getting lost in the time tunnel, but she also had to guard against the torrents of time injuring her vital spots.
Tangtang, careful! Dodge! After an unknown amount of time, Luo Tangtang was in a daze when a sharp, electronic voice rang in her mind.
This time, the system’s voice was much stronger than before, like an alarm constantly blaring in her mind.
Before Luo Tangtang could react, a sharp pain pierced her eyes. “Ahhhhhh!” A shrill scream echoed in the time tunnel. Luo Tangtang covered her eyes, blood seeping through her fingers, unstoppable. The pain made her whole body convulse. Countless dense torrents of time rushed towards her, hitting her face, body, and limbs. Even breathing was painful.
Tangtang! the system called out urgently. Luo Tangtang could no longer hear clearly. She didn’t know when, but suddenly, her surroundings became quiet.
Warm sunlight fell on her body. Luo Tangtang’s index finger slowly curled, not even daring to clench, so she slowly uncurled it. It seemed she couldn’t see; her vision was filled with darkness. She only knew she seemed to have fallen into a sea of flowers. As she breathed gently, along with the pain, came a refreshing fragrance.
Her last sensation before losing consciousness was a fallen leaf landing on the tip of her nose, slightly itchy.
“Why is there a person here? Luo Yi, look quickly!” came the somewhat coy and sweet voice of a little girl. It was a young girl dressed in pink, followed by a woman in white.
Luo Yi quietly looked at the person lying by the tree. In the blink of an eye, her figure moved to the base of the tree.
The little girl watched the person disappear from her original spot, her eyes widening slightly. After a moment, she reacted and quickly trotted over to the woman in white.
“Huh, she’s in a terrible state!” The little girl craned her neck, looking at the unconscious person on the ground. She had been here for some time and had never seen anyone so severely injured.
The person looked as if she had been soaked in a pool of blood. Her entire body was covered in fine wounds, even her face, making her features unrecognizable. There were two streaks of blood under her eyes, and her exposed skin was shriveled, like that of an old person nearing death.
“Is she a woman? Like us?” The little girl stared for a while, then uncertainly pointed to herself, then to the person on the ground, before looking up at the woman in white.
Luo Yi looked faintly at the person on the ground, a dark light flowing in her silver pupils. “Yes.” She gently ruffled the little girl’s hair.
“Then how did she get here? And why is she so badly hurt?” the little girl asked again. “How could a normal person enter Sunrise Valley?”
Luo Yi’s eyes were somewhat complex, and her expression a bit grave. “I don’t know. But the wounds on her body seem to be left by the torrents of time.”
“What?” The little girl’s face was full of disbelief. “Then, then what should we do? She isn’t some big boss from another world, is she?”
“Should we finish her off now?”
“We don’t know the situation clearly yet. She’s heavily injured and poses no threat for now.” Luo Yi gently squatted down and placed her hand on the woman’s pulse. The woman, who had been frowning tightly, suddenly relaxed.
“Goddess, big boss,” the little girl said again.
Luo Yi glanced coldly at the little girl. “Who did you learn ‘big boss’ from?”
“The Main God created many small worlds. People in one of those worlds all say it like that.” The little girl shrank her neck, then stuck her tongue out at the person on the ground.
“She feels like one.”
“Shut up.” Luo Yi only withdrew her hand after a long moment, her face looking a bit weary. She pressed her temples, a slight headache bothering her.
“Recently, the Far North Domain has been unstable. The trouble you caused hasn’t been resolved yet. Don’t cause me any more problems.”
“I didn’t! This was all ordered by the Main God. I didn’t act on my own.” The little girl pouted. Why was she being blamed for everything? She was just following orders.
She felt Luo Yi was just too soft-hearted, just as the Main God said – overly emotional, unable to be ruthless to anyone. How could she complete her tasks and maintain this world’s stability like this?
“Just behave yourself.” Luo Yi seemed too lazy to say more, instructing her with a cold face.
“Oh,” the little girl answered reluctantly. “Then what about her?”
“Her?” Luo Yi looked at the person on the ground, her face thoughtful. “Let her stay. She’d die if she went out like this anyway. Besides, the matter of the torrents of time hasn’t been investigated yet.”
When Luo Tangtang woke up, her hand touched hard rock. She opened her eyes in confusion. Before her was pitch darkness. Her heart felt as if a cold wind from an empty valley was whistling through it, terrifyingly hollow and lonely.
“I can’t see.” Luo Tangtang bit her lip, her hand trembling as she wanted to touch her eyes.
Never mind.
System, are you there?
Complete silence.
The system is gone too? Luo Tangtang’s heart instantly sank to the bottom of a lake.
“You’re awake?” Suddenly, the sound of a door being pushed open was heard, followed by approaching footsteps and a somewhat sweet, girly voice.
“Did you save me?” Luo Tangtang stiffly raised her head, stunned.
“Not really. You were lucky to survive. I just picked you up.” The coldness in her tone didn’t match her sweet voice.
“Either way, thank you.”
The little girl seemed to snort coldly.
Luo Tangtang lowered her head. She couldn’t see now. “Then, do you know someone named Yun Shayi?”
“Why do you have so many questions?” The little girl rolled her eyes, but then, remembering the other person couldn’t see, she snorted coldly again, heavily this time.
“This is very important to me!” Luo Tangtang suddenly clenched her fists. The wounds on them tore open from the sudden force, and blood immediately flowed out.
“I said, why do you have so many questions?” The little girl seemed to grow impatient, her tone icy.
“I—!” Luo Tangtang bit her lower lip, and the taste of blood filled her mouth.
Seeing her like this, the little girl’s expression wasn’t good. “I don’t know anyone named Yun Shayi. But there’s a Yun family in the Central Continent. I don’t know if the person you’re looking for is there.”
“The Yun family?” Luo Tangtang’s previously dejected mood instantly vanished, her hoarse voice tinged with joy.
That should be where Senior Sister is. She remembered. She had returned to the original world; nothing had happened yet.
“What are you so happy about? In your current state, what can you even do?” the little girl said again.
Luo Tangtang froze instantly. Her hand went to her eyes again. Her fingertips unintentionally brushed against some skin, shocking her deeply.
It wasn’t smooth and delicate like before. The touch was dry and withered, like that of an old person on their deathbed.
How could this be? Luo Tangtang’s movements were almost frantic as she touched her face, arms, and neck with both hands. It was all the same.
“Stop moving. Your body is covered in scars from the torrents of time. Your life force has faded, so of course you’ve aged.” The little girl’s voice held a hint of wariness and an almost imperceptible pity.
Luo Tangtang was silent. She suddenly felt lost. What… what should she do? How could she find Senior Sister like this?
“You should focus on recovering now. Otherwise, you might not even keep your life.” The little girl seemed to sigh.
Luo Tangtang suddenly gave a scornful laugh. She wouldn’t die. Her soul was with the Main God. The time tunnel was the only possible way to kill her, something she had thought about for a long time. But since she didn’t die now, then she wouldn’t die.
She couldn’t even die!
Luo Tangtang tightly gripped the pendant around her neck. That was the small space the system had given her. Senior Sister was there.
