Why Aren’t You Cultivating Immortality? (GL) Chapter 33

Chapter 33

After saying she wanted to pursue someone, Bai Moqing stayed overnight at Xiao Xing’s home that very night.
The little orange cat tucked its paws under its chest and lay on the sofa watching television. Yun Su sat beside it. Yun Su had always lived in the abyss, so everything before her felt new and strange.
For example, the square board in front of them was playing a drama she half understood and half did not understand. She turned to look at the little orange cat. The little orange cat was watching with great interest.
The little orange cat noticed Yun Su looking at it from time to time and flicked its tail at her. “Yun Yun, are you hungry?”
Yun Su touched her stomach. She had not eaten anything for many years and had long forgotten what hunger felt like. Still, she nodded.
The little orange cat stretched out a paw and pointed at the bag of cat food on the coffee table. “If you are hungry, you can eat that. It smells good and tastes good. It is just a little dry.” After saying that, it tucked its paw back.
Yun Su glanced at the cat food, then looked back at the little orange cat. The little orange cat felt a chill in its heart, and its fur stood up. “You are not thinking of eating me, are you?” It quietly moved to the side.
It was truly too cute. Yun Su could not help reaching out to touch the little orange cat’s head. The little orange cat dodged with a guarded face, and Yun Su’s hand awkwardly touched empty air.
“Feiyue, I have never eaten little cat demons. Besides, it is you.” Unable to touch the fur, Yun Su felt a little unhappy.
The little orange cat remembered the scene in the Qiongcang Secret Realm when Yun Su, in flood dragon form, had opened her bloody mouth to swallow Bai Moqing. Its little face darkened, and it stood up with a whoosh. “Did you want to eat Qingqing?”
Looking at its protective appearance, Yun Su could tell Feiyue’s feelings for Bai Moqing were not ordinary. She froze for a moment, then shook her head. “Bai Moqing has the God-Slaying Cauldron in her. Other than the Heavenly Dao’s lightning tribulation, no one can hurt her. If I ate her, the next second, the God-Slaying Cauldron would refine me into a flood dragon pill.”
While the little orange cat listened seriously, Yun Su grabbed it and held it in her arms to stroke its fur. “Feiyue, you are the cutest little demon I have ever seen.”
The little orange cat sprang from Yun Su’s arms to the coffee table with a whoosh. Its fur puffed up all over as it said in a trembling baby voice, “You are not allowed to hug me! I belong to Qingqing!”
“Then where is your Qingqing?” Yun Su was both amused and annoyed.
The little orange cat turned its head, jumped down from the coffee table, and changed into human form. “She went to find that little vixen.” It collapsed onto the single sofa beside them, unhappy.
“But it does not matter. No matter how late it is, she will come home.” It glanced at the wall clock, grabbed the remote, changed the channel, and happily began watching the political palace drama it had been following lately.
Yun Su looked at Feiyue, crossed her legs, closed her eyes, focused her mind, and began cultivating.
Yun Su’s true form was a black-scaled flood dragon. When she cultivated, flood dragon light rose from her body and circled around her again and again.
Feiyue’s attention, which had been on the television, was gradually drawn to Yun Su. It stared at her and asked curiously, “Yun Yun, are you afraid others will not know you are a flood dragon?”
“You are not others.” The light around Yun Su gradually faded, then bloomed into white light. The white light expanded and became a barrier. A few seconds later, Yun Su disappeared before Feiyue’s eyes.
“Yun Su?” Feiyue stretched out one finger and poked the place where Yun Su had been sitting. There was nothing there, but Yun Su’s voice sounded from that spot. “I am still here.”
Compared with Yun Su, Feiyue felt it was truly lacking. Its cultivation was not as high as Yun Su’s, and it was not as diligent. Thinking of how the spiritual energy in this world was too thin to cultivate into an immortal, Feiyue leaned back and collapsed onto the sofa, continuing to watch television.
Bai Moqing sat uneasily on the sofa, watching Xiao Xing go in and out of the bedroom. Xiao Xing lifted her eyes and glanced at her. “Come here.”
Bai Moqing had entered Xiao Xing’s bedroom once before, but this time, her heart beat so fast it felt about to explode. When Xiao Xing stood at the bathroom door and said, “Come help me bathe,” Bai Moqing felt her heart burst into sparks. Her mind went blank with a boom and crashed.
The misty bathroom was connected to the bedroom, and the door was open. Xiao Xing had already walked inside. Bai Moqing peeked in. The bathroom was very large and even had a curved bath.
Through the mist, Xiao Xing removed her clothes one by one. Her fair, smooth back was shown completely before Bai Moqing. Bai Moqing swallowed, and heat rose in her lower belly.
Water splashed. Xiao Xing’s long legs stepped into the bath. The bath was not deep. After she sat down, her clear collarbones and round shoulders were above the water.
Xiao Xing sat with her back to the door. She turned to Bai Moqing, who stood at the doorway, and said, “Come here.” Bai Moqing’s face had already turned red as a raspberry. Xiao Xing turned back and secretly took a deep breath.
She had clearly wanted to tease Bai Moqing, but she herself had become aroused first. Hidden under the water, her body was almost the same temperature as the bath. Xiao Xing regretted it and said, “Forget it. I will wash myself.”
It was already too late.
Bai Moqing had already entered the bathroom. Click. She even locked the door.
The bath had three steps, paved with uneven anti-slip stone. Bai Moqing stood beside the bath. Perhaps because she had been affected by the steam, her eyes were not as clear as usual. She slowly crouched, knelt on one knee beside the bath, and placed a hand on Xiao Xing’s shoulder.
Light-yellow dry towels were neatly stacked on the edge of the bath. Soft and fluffy, they soaked full the instant they entered the water.
Her left hand touched Xiao Xing’s shoulder, and her right hand held the towel, wiping gently. Bai Moqing leaned close to Xiao Xing and asked by her ear, “President Xiao, is this pressure all right?”
Xiao Xing moved her lips but made no sound.
This was what it meant to suffer from one’s own actions. Bai Moqing’s touch made desire rise inside her, hard to restrain. But Xiao Xing had to endure it. Bai Moqing had only just said she wanted to pursue her. Xiao Xing could not surrender on the very first night.
Bai Moqing’s hand slid along Xiao Xing’s shoulder to her collarbone. Xiao Xing’s skin was very sensitive. She could feel every line in Bai Moqing’s palm, crossing and weaving, bringing an itchy, tingling feeling that poured into her heart wave after wave.
“Stop.” Xiao Xing pressed Bai Moqing’s hand. “I will do it myself. Go out.”
The hand left her body, and the water temperature suddenly felt cool. Xiao Xing watched Bai Moqing pass through the door and walk outside, then secretly breathed in relief.
Bai Moqing leaned against the wall, clutching her chest and gasping.
Her skin was like smooth cream, warm like fine white jade. While touching Xiao Xing’s body, Bai Moqing had almost, almost been unable to stop herself from taking off her clothes, jumping into the bath, and offering herself to Xiao Xing.
While restraining herself and wiping Xiao Xing’s body, Bai Moqing had imagined countless happy positions in the bath. Every one was wildly improper.
It did not fit her personality at all.
Bai Moqing suddenly wanted to ask Xiao Xing whether they had ever done those things before.
They probably had, right?
Probably not.
Sleeping with her, taking away her memories, and then abandoning her? Xiao Xing should not be that much of a scoundrel.
Her mood rose and fell like a roller coaster. Bai Moqing knocked on the door. “Xiao Xing, why did you abandon me before?”
Wrapped in a bathrobe, Xiao Xing opened the door while drying her hair and walked out. “Did you not say it did not matter what happened in the past?”
Her hair was still dripping. Xiao Xing stopped and stood before Bai Moqing. Her eyes focused on Bai Moqing. “Now you want to bring up old matters again?”
Bai Moqing raised her hand and took away the towel, moving behind Xiao Xing to dry her hair. “I am only curious.”
“I never abandoned you.” Xiao Xing turned her head and glanced at Bai Moqing. “Never.”
She had only erased the memories of their meeting and knowing each other while they loved each other.
“Actually, I do have a little memory.” After drying Xiao Xing’s hair, Bai Moqing gently massaged her. She had learned this from the little orange cat.
“Last time, when I went to the branch company, after drinking a whole bottle of white liquor, I remembered that I had liked someone. I just could not remember her face or her name.” Bai Moqing hugged Xiao Xing. “Was that person you?”
Xiao Xing pried Bai Moqing’s hands away and walked toward the bed. “Who knows whether it was me? It is not impossible that you fell for someone else.”
The bed was very soft. Xiao Xing got onto it and leaned back. Her eyes, carrying a gentle smile, looked at Bai Moqing, inviting her to share the bed.
That gaze was hard to refuse, and Bai Moqing did not want to refuse.
Just as she was about to get onto the bed, a meowing cry sounded in her mind. The little orange cat was calling her.
The voice sounded urgent. Bai Moqing remembered that the flood dragon was at home and feared something had happened to the little orange cat, so she hurriedly said goodbye.
Watching Bai Moqing disappear in front of her, Xiao Xing felt a little unhappy. Compared with that little cat demon, was she actually less important?
“Feiyue, what is wrong?” Bai Moqing returned home and did not see a terrible fight. One dragon and one cat were quite harmonious, crouched on the coffee table, eating cat food from bowls.
Wait. A dragon… eating cat food?
“Qingqing!” The little orange cat had just swallowed cat food when it realized Bai Moqing was back. It lifted a paw, patted the little flood dragon’s face with its soft pad, jumped down from the coffee table, and ran to Bai Moqing’s shoulder. It rubbed her affectionately. “You finally came back.”
The flood dragon lifted its head, leaped off the coffee table, and changed into human form.
“You called me back because Yun Su stole your cat food?”
Yun Su looked at the little orange cat with helpless eyes and said, “I did not steal her cat food. She forced me to eat it.”
The little orange cat rubbed Bai Moqing’s cheek again, looking innocent and simple, without any schemes. “You went out for so long. I was afraid you forgot to come home, so I reminded you.”
Bai Moqing wanted to throw the cat.
Throw it out after throwing it.
And throw that little flood dragon out with it.
Bai Moqing grabbed the little orange cat down from her shoulder, glanced at Yun Su, and stuffed the little orange cat into Yun Su’s arms. Pointing at the little orange cat’s room, she said, “You two sleep in that room. Unless it is a life-or-death matter, do not call me.”
She turned into her bedroom. In the next instant, she returned to Xiao Xing’s home.
“Why are you back again?” Xiao Xing was reading. Feeling the air shift, she lifted her head from behind the book. Bai Moqing stood before her, smiling honestly.
“I promised to stay overnight, so I cannot break my word.” Bai Moqing got onto the bed and lay on her side beside Xiao Xing. Her clothes had already changed into pajamas, a navy silk nightdress that revealed a large area of snowy-white skin, tempting without knowing it.
Xiao Xing’s gaze drifted. With an unnatural expression, she turned her eyes back to the book. “I changed my mind. I am not keeping you tonight.”
“Really?” Bai Moqing looked at Xiao Xing. Her face was serious, as if she truly did not want to keep her.
“Mm.” Xiao Xing nodded. The bed moved. The dip beside her recovered. Bai Moqing had left again.
Why did she not insist a little longer?
Looking at the spot where Bai Moqing had just lain, Xiao Xing lost all interest in reading.
