The Young Lady Only Wants to Cultivate Immortality Chapter 61

Peril at Zhuoling Mountain

The next morning, a faint glimmer appeared in the gloomy sky.
A moderate sound, not quite enough to disturb a peaceful slumber, still woke A’Ling up instantly, as she hadn’t dared to fall into a deep sleep. Subconsciously, she gripped the Little Wandering on her wrist, ready to enter battle at any moment.
After a while, her somewhat hazy eyes gradually focused, allowing her to clearly see her surroundings. A’Ling’s drowsy consciousness slowly cleared.
A’Ling scratched her cheek, which felt a little warm from sleep. She was slightly annoyed, as she had actually slept straight until morning when she had planned to relieve Gu Jingyang for the latter half of the night watch.
Why hadn’t Gu Jingyang called her?
A’Ling quickly got dressed and walked out of the tent.
Not far from their tents, in a flat area, some clusters of firelight flickered in the misty air.
Above the fire, an iron pot was steaming vigorously, its ethereal vapor rising and mixing with the morning mist.
Lan Fushang was cutting vegetables, trying to keep her voice down, when she turned and saw A’Ling walking over.
“A’Ling, why are you awake so early? Did I wake you?” Lan Fushang asked apologetically.
A’Ling shook her head. “No, no, I usually wake up around this time anyway.”
A soft chuckle came from the mist.
A’Ling squinted. Gu Jingyang was setting up a table, and hearing A’Ling’s words, she couldn’t stop laughing.
Others might not know A’Ling, but how could Gu Jingyang not? Normally, at this hour, if nothing was happening, A’Ling would definitely still be sweetly asleep in bed.
She raised an eyebrow at A’Ling. “I didn’t realize A’Ling was so diligent in her daily life, getting up at this hour.”
A’Ling showed no embarrassment at being caught in a lie by Gu Jingyang. She looked Gu Jingyang up and down.
“Why didn’t you call me last night? Did you stand watch all night?” A’Ling asked. Gu Jingyang looked very clear-headed and spirited, not at all like someone who had been up all night.
To her surprise, Gu Jingyang nodded. “Anyway, I couldn’t sleep.”
A’Ling was astonished. “What, do you not need to sleep anymore?”
Gu Jingyang glanced at Lan Fushang, who had stopped her work and was looking over, seemingly very concerned, having overheard their conversation.
She thought for a moment and decided not to mention the crispy candy, lest Lan Fushang feel another layer of guilt and apology.
This person could find seventeen or eighteen things to feel sorry about throughout the day.
“Perhaps it’s because I just broke through and am still a bit excited,” Gu Jingyang said. Like A’Ling, she could lie with a straight face without batting an eye.
A’Ling raised her eyebrows. She hadn’t expected a breakthrough to have such an effect.
Lan Fushang looked at Gu Jingyang worriedly. Last night, she had woken up in the middle of the night and wanted to relieve Gu Jingyang, but Gu Jingyang said she wasn’t sleepy yet and would switch with A’Ling later.
When she woke up in the morning, she saw that Gu Jingyang’s tent curtains were already drawn. Seeing her look very spirited, Lan Fushang thought Gu Jingyang had rested well after being relieved.
She hadn’t expected her to have been awake all night.
Although it wasn’t a big deal for cultivators to stay up all night, the yin and yang of heaven and earth, and all things, emphasize balance. Just as there is day, there is night; people should still rest well when they need to.
Lan Fushang thought that she should wait a while and then concoct a medicinal pill that could help someone sleep peacefully.
Fortunately, Gu Jingyang couldn’t hear her thoughts. If she could, she would probably run thirty li away overnight.
After eating the refreshing crispy candy, she was already so excited it was as if she was going to quit sleeping. If she were to eat the sleep-inducing medicinal pill made by Lan Fushang, she probably wouldn’t wake up for ten to fifteen days.
Lan Fushang saw the water boiling and called for them to wash up. Although cultivators had spells for cleaning, Lan Fushang still preferred this primitive method, believing that only by washing up this way could one truly dispel fatigue and welcome the start of the day full of energy.
Gu Jingyang and A’Ling were more casual. It wasn’t that they disliked this primitive method; it was just that after entering the sect, with no one to care for them, they used spells for convenience.
Now that someone had thoughtfully arranged it, they naturally wouldn’t refuse.
As the warm cloths soaked in hot water were placed on their faces, A’Ling sighed comfortably. Gu Jingyang was a bit more reserved, but she couldn’t help but slightly tilt her head back, allowing the warm towel to adhere better to her face.
After they finished washing up, Lan Fushang’s breakfast was also ready.
Gu Jingyang helped scoop out the food and placed it on the table, while A’Ling finished setting up the chairs.
The three comfortably ate the steaming sweet pumpkin porridge, watching the sky gradually turn a faint white.
A’Ling felt a moment of trance. This really felt like they were out playing; the nervous mood from before their departure was completely gone. All that remained in her mind was what Fushang would cook for their next meal.
She had experienced such days before. When she was recovering from injuries at the Tranquil Shade Herb Hut, she also looked forward to each meal. For no other reason than that, although she didn’t like Shi Qingqian, Shi Qingqian’s cooking was truly delicious.
Huh, why did I think of her again? A’Ling quickly shook her head, stopping these inexplicable memories from surfacing.
After the three finished breakfast, the light in the sky was still just a tiny bit; the sun seemed unable to break free from the thick clouds.
After they finished packing their things, the gloom in the sky became even darker. The vast gray sky looked like it was about to snow.
A’Ling accompanied Lan Fushang in packing, while Gu Jingyang went to check on Xing Yanchu and Zhao Shan, who hadn’t woken up yet.
In the simple shelter built with Dhara leaves, Zhao Shan also had a piece of Dhara leaf draped over him. His breathing was rapid and heavy, and his eyes were tightly shut.
Gu Jingyang felt relieved after examining him; he was just asleep, not unconscious.
She woke up Xing Yanchu, who was also sleeping soundly nearby.
Xing Yanchu had flown with Zhao Shan for half a day yesterday and was utterly exhausted. When woken by Gu Jingyang, his limbs were still so sore he didn’t want to move.
When he heard Gu Jingyang say they were about to set off, he truly didn’t want to move a single finger.
Seeing him not move for a long time, Gu Jingyang didn’t press him. “If that’s the case, you can stay here with Zhao Shan, wait for him to recover from his injuries, and then you two can return to the sect together.”
After saying that, she turned and left.
Xing Yanchu immediately panicked. Gu Jingyang and the others were going to abandon them!
He quickly got up and chased after her. “Gu Jingyang, wait! What do you mean? Are you going to leave Elder Zhao here?”
Gu Jingyang stopped, lowered her gaze, and glanced at Xing Yanchu, refuting his claim.
“It’s to settle him here to recover from his injuries. Zhuoling Mountain is dangerous; wouldn’t he be courting death if he went in this state?”
Xing Yanchu couldn’t help but look back. Zhao Shan had been beaten so miserably by A’Ling, his limbs all broken. In this state, if he encountered any demon beasts, he would likely end up as food.
A’Ling’s actions were too ruthless. He had already heard from Zhao Shan last night about the animosity between them.
Wasn’t it just Zhao Shan’s younger brother who bullied Lan Fushang? It wasn’t A’Ling who was bullied, yet her actions were too vicious.
He wondered how she had become like this now. Xing Yanchu couldn’t figure it out no matter how hard he tried.
Gu Jingyang saw him standing there in a daze, wondering what he was thinking. She was in a hurry and didn’t have time to waste on him.
“As for you, you can choose freely. If you stay here to accompany Zhao Shan while he recovers, you can return to the sect together once he’s healed.”
“Of course, if you don’t want to take care of him and still want to go to Zhuoling Mountain, that’s up to you.”
“It’s just that time is tight now; we’re about to set off. If you want to go, hurry up.”
“Also, Zhuoling Mountain is dangerous, so I suggest you stay here instead. You two can look out for each other. If something dangerous happens on Zhuoling Mountain, I cannot guarantee your safety, and don’t say we didn’t warn you beforehand.”
Gu Jingyang said everything she needed to say in one breath; the rest was up to Xing Yanchu to choose.
Xing Yanchu wasn’t completely brainless. Staying here with Zhao Shan, not only would he suffer hardships and exhaustion, but Zhao Shan might not even remember his kindness. He knew people like them very well; perhaps Zhao Shan would even feel later that he had seen his pathetic state and would wish to get rid of him quickly.
The reason he was so clear about this was because he himself was this kind of person.
He glanced at Gu Jingyang. He knew that Gu Jingyang was an upright and magnanimous person in her conduct. Even if her relationship with A’Ling now seemed very close, she wouldn’t inexplicably take her anger out on him because of A’Ling.
Following Gu Jingyang was certainly better than following Zhao Shan. As for A’Ling, who always wanted to beat him whenever she saw him, he just needed to avoid her.
After Xing Yanchu thought it through, he immediately picked up his Riftsplitter Sword and chose to leave with Gu Jingyang and the others.
Gu Jingyang had already guessed the outcome. She squeezed the Sound-Recording Pearl in her palm; she had recorded their conversation just now.
After returning to the sect in the future, she wouldn’t worry about these two claiming she used her position for personal revenge or intentionally abandoned them.
After Lan Fushang and the others finished packing, Gu Jingyang symbolically informed everyone about Zhao Shan staying behind.
Lan Fushang and A’Ling also symbolically expressed their support for Gu Jingyang’s decision.
Gu Jingyang also had Lan Fushang leave behind some wound medicine. She then placed a barrier around Zhao Shan before leading everyone towards Zhuoling Mountain.
After flying on swords for five days, as fine snowflakes finally began to fall from the sky, everyone arrived beside Wuying Pool, which was only one li from the foot of Zhuoling Mountain.
Xing Yanchu dismounted from his Riftsplitter Sword and plopped down onto the ground. Completely disregarding the damp ground, he immediately lay down flat on his back.
“Too tired, truly too tired,” he thought. “No wonder this mission fell to a newcomer like me. I’ve really had my eyes opened. I’ve always known Mystic Crane Mountain is vast, but this time, I’ve truly experienced it firsthand.”
After Lan Fushang dismounted from her iron sword, she immediately took out three reclining chairs from her Universe pouch, and then a huge oil-paper umbrella.
It was so large that when she first took it out and revealed its handle, A’Ling thought she was holding a pillar.
Only when she saw the umbrella canopy did she realize her mistake.
Gu Jingyang was the last to land after checking the surroundings for anything unusual. The moment she landed, she was startled by the umbrella Lan Fushang had opened.
“This is… an umbrella?”
If she hadn’t seen Lan Fushang open the umbrella, she probably would have thought this ‘umbrella’ standing there was a simple pavilion.
Gu Jingyang quickly went forward to help Lan Fushang embed the pillar-like umbrella handle into the ground to secure it.
Only after seeing the umbrella was stable did Lan Fushang explain to Gu Jingyang: “Yes, it’s an umbrella. I had it custom-made when I was in the Outer Sect. It’s bigger so more people can shelter from the rain together.”
She used to practice medicine in the countryside. When caught in heavy rain with no village or inn nearby, this umbrella made things much more convenient; she could also shelter fellow villagers caught in the rain on the road.
Gu Jingyang’s expression subtly shifted. How is it that whatever this person does, she always thinks of others?
A’Ling had already unfolded the reclining chairs and laid out the flannel blankets Lan Fushang provided. Lying comfortably in the reclining chair, she glanced at the huge umbrella above and exclaimed admiringly: “Fushang, from now on, even if I don’t bring my brain when I go out, I must bring you.”
Gu Jingyang smiled faintly. “You don’t have much of a brain to bring anyway.”
A’Ling laughed along, completely unbothered by the teasing. “Bringing your brain is the same! Come and lie down for a bit; flying on swords is truly exhausting.”
After Lan Fushang and Gu Jingyang lay down, they both exhaled in unison; it was indeed exhausting.
They had been flying against the wind all this way. The wind on a winter’s gloomy day was piercingly cold. Their spiritual energy not only needed to power the barriers around them but also had to be partly used for sword flight, which was truly strenuous.
Xing Yanchu, lying on the ground, glanced at the three’s reclining chairs and the large umbrella that blocked snow and rain. His heart was filled with indignation.
“How dare these three complain about being tired?” he thought. “All this way, they’ve been eating delicious and spicy meals every day; every meal was hot and comforting. Unlike me, who only ate dry rations every meal, only occasionally would they give me a bowl of soup and rice or something. Like sending off a beggar.”
“And at night, their tents were so comfortable. Unlike me, huddled in a corner, laying down some weeds as a bed.”
The more he thought, the more uncomfortable he felt. His gaze towards Lan Fushang among the three was sharp enough to kill. He could tell that Lan Fushang was the one who had arranged all these things. If this person were in the Outer Sect, he would definitely seize her and bring her back to the Xing family to be a maid!
If A’Ling knew his thoughts, she would definitely beat him to death instantly. How dare he even think such a thing?
Lying in the reclining chair, she looked at the increasingly abundant and dense snowflakes in the sky. She thought, luckily, their destination was close. Flying on swords in such weather would double the effort.
Thinking of this, A’Ling turned her head to look at Gu Jingyang.
“Gu Jingyang, haven’t you already reached the Nascent Soul realm? Why haven’t you studied spatial teleportation spells?” If Gu Jingyang knew this spell, wouldn’t they avoid all this trouble?
Gu Jingyang glared at A’Ling exasperatedly. “Do you think this spell can be used whenever one wishes?”
A’Ling raised an eyebrow. “Can’t it?”
Lan Fushang also looked at Gu Jingyang curiously. She knew about this spell, but she had never seen anyone use it.
Gu Jingyang sighed and began to explain the characteristics of spatial teleportation spells.
“Such high-level spells consume a great deal of spiritual energy and internal force,” Gu Jingyang explained. “The longer the teleportation distance, the more spiritual energy consumed. Also, the destination cannot have a barrier or boundary, or one might be teleported to the wrong place.”
A’Ling thought about the distance they had flown this trip and asked, “To teleport from the sect to Zhuoling Mountain, a distance like this, can anyone from the Three Peaks and Twelve Caves do it?”
She guessed it was probably because very few people could teleport such a long distance, which was why no one from the sect came to investigate, and they had to travel such a long distance.
Gu Jingyang thought for a moment. “The sect masters of the Twelve Caves are all at the Core Formation or Nascent Soul realm of cultivation. Regardless of whether they are in the early, middle, or late stages of Core Formation or Nascent Soul, they should not be able to cover such a long distance.”
A’Ling understood. If even the sect masters couldn’t reach, then the disciples wouldn’t need to even consider it.
Gu Jingyang continued, “As for the three Peak Masters, they are all experts at the Soul Transformation realm. Perhaps they could barely succeed in teleporting. Additionally, there are several senior elders of Mystic Crane Mountain who are also at the Soul Transformation realm, and they might also have this possibility.”
However, Gu Jingyang thought the possibility was small. Moreover, even if the Peak Masters could barely teleport here from within the sect, they would likely exhaust all their internal force and spiritual energy. If that were the case, even if they arrived, they wouldn’t be of much use.
“Alright,” A’Ling said regretfully, but she didn’t forget to encourage Gu Jingyang. “Keep it up! Once you reach the Soul Transformation realm, we won’t have to suffer like this when we go out.”
At least they could teleport directly to closer places.
She still remembered when she was in the Outer Sect, that time she encountered danger in Kaiyao Mountain, Shi Qingqian used spatial teleportation spells to bring her back to Apothecary Yang Xia.
At that time, her vision went black. In just a blink of an eye, the darkness receded, and she had been brought to the Tranquil Shade Herb Hut.
It was so fast that she didn’t even have time to refuse.
It wasn’t the first time Gu Jingyang heard A’Ling confidently declare she could reach the Soul Transformation realm, but each time she heard it, there would still be an unusual stirring in her heart.
Lan Fushang smiled as she listened to their conversation. She didn’t feel tired at all; she even hoped that in the future, she would have more opportunities to go on missions with A’Ling and the others.
She gazed at Zhuoling Mountain in the distance. In the past few days, Gu Jingyang had repeatedly warned them that this mission was dangerous, but looking at it now, the mountain didn’t seem particularly special.
After resting for a little over half an hour, seeing that the snow was about to fall heavily, Gu Jingyang glanced at the increasingly gloomy sky, thinking it would be better to enter the mountain and investigate early.
After all, it would be more dangerous after dark.
A’Ling and Lan Fushang had no objections. Only Xing Yanchu was somewhat displeased; he was still very tired and didn’t want to move.
Conveniently, Gu Jingyang didn’t care if he went or not; she was only going to check the situation first.
“You wait for us here first. We’ll go check the situation. The weather isn’t good today, and it’s getting late. For specific actions, we’ll wait until we finish our investigation and return, then we’ll work out a plan and act on it tomorrow.”
After Xing Yanchu heard this, he sprang up from the ground. “I’m staying here alone?”
He was a bit flustered. If something happened, who would he call for help?
Gu Jingyang raised an eyebrow. “Is there a problem?”
Of course, Xing Yanchu couldn’t say he was afraid. He stiffened his neck. “Are you trying to ditch me, which is why you’re deliberately tricking me into staying here? Are you trying to go to the great demon’s cave yourselves and monopolize all the good stuff?!”
Gu Jingyang let out a ‘tsk’, very annoyed by his noisy demeanor.
She had only been making a suggestion, a kind one given because Xing Yanchu looked like he didn’t want to move.
“Since you don’t want to stay here, then follow along,” she said. “Remember, if something happens later, don’t say I didn’t find you a safe place.”
After Gu Jingyang finished speaking, she rose on her sword. A’Ling and Lan Fushang followed closely. Xing Yanchu was half a beat slow, and without time to think, he also followed.
The four arrived at the foot of Zhuoling Mountain one after another, landing beside a stone tablet inscribed with the three characters “Zhuoling Mountain.”
Gu Jingyang was the first to land this time. The moment she landed, she felt a tremor in her heart; a bad feeling lingered in her mind.
Her gaze stopped halfway up the mountain, on a section of mountain forest that felt very unusual to her.
A’Ling immediately noticed her expression was off. She walked to Gu Jingyang’s side and asked in a low voice, “What’s wrong?”
Lan Fushang also looked vigilant. While the two were talking, she held her sword and scanned their surroundings.
Gu Jingyang held her breath and carefully observed the forest for a while. But among the tall trees, apart from a few leaves rustling in the mountain wind, there was no other movement, not like demon beasts were lurking.
Moreover, trees in winter naturally didn’t have many dense leaves; most trees were bare, with only an occasional few having some leaves.
Looking like this, the situation in that forest was still relatively clear; it couldn’t hide any slightly larger demon beasts.
But Gu Jingyang just inexplicably felt that the forest was a bit strange.
“Hard to say,” Gu Jingyang murmured. “A’Ling, do you feel anything wrong?”
A’Ling raised her eyebrows. She glanced around; the surroundings were quiet, with nothing out of place.
“No, I don’t feel anything wrong,” A’Ling said curiously. “Did you find something?”
Gu Jingyang then looked at Lan Fushang. Lan Fushang also shook her head with a puzzled expression and said no.
Apart from some withered trees, there was nothing around, but the snow seemed to be falling more heavily.
They didn’t feel it much due to their protective barriers, but the spherical bushes in front of them were already covered with a thick layer of snow, to the point where it was hard to tell what kind of plants they originally were.
After hearing what they said, Gu Jingyang didn’t feel relieved. Instead, the bad feeling in her heart grew even stronger.
“Step back a little,” Gu Jingyang instructed.
Gu Jingyang looked up at the distant mountaintop. The snow there seemed even thicker; the entire upper half of the mountain seemed to be covered by the thick snow, making it impossible to see its original state clearly.
A’Ling, hearing the command, pulled Lan Fushang back and conveniently kicked away Xing Yanchu, who was standing in the way like a wooden post.
Xing Yanchu had landed later and hadn’t heard their previous conversation. Seeing the three of them not going up the mountain after reaching its foot, and now all retreating, he didn’t know what was happening for a moment. And after being kicked away by A’Ling, he felt even more indignant.
But before he could say anything, a golden light suddenly flashed before his eyes, startling him into hastily retreating a few steps.
Gu Jingyang used a spell to melt away the accumulated snow on the ground around her feet, revealing a clean, circular patch of ground.
She gathered the true energy within her body to the pad of her index finger. With her other hand, she picked up a talisman, swiftly drew a beast-repelling talisman on the blank paper, lit the talisman, and threw it into the center of the cleared circular ground.
Rays of light surged from the talisman, spreading in all directions. The light swirled, and the entire circular ground suddenly shone like a full moon.
Gu Jingyang stepped into it, stopped at the very center, and half-squatted, propping herself on her knees. Using herself as the core of the formation, she pressed her spiritual energy onto the glowing talisman with one hand.
In an instant, dust within the circular formation suddenly rose, emitting colorful shimmering light. At first glance, the dust and grime seemed to transform into flowing ice crystals.
As Gu Jingyang’s internal force poured in, a strong gust of wind suddenly appeared from nowhere, sweeping the dust and grime, which looked like flowing ice crystals, into the air. The talisman also shattered in her hand at that moment.
Lan Fushang gazed in surprise at Gu Jingyang within the golden light formation. She had never seen Gu Jingyang like this before.
From her perspective, Gu Jingyang’s face at this moment was like a bright moon bathed in clear light. Her long eyebrows were slightly raised, her expression stern, her jawline taut, and under her long eyelashes, her focused eyes gleamed with increasingly dazzling golden light.
Amidst the desolate mountain scenery, under the gloomy sky, her entire being glowed with golden light. The moon-white Daoist robe with gold trim, unique to spiritual arts cultivators, was worn by her with an ethereal aura, like a deity descending.
The wind howled, and her white robe flapped loudly in the strong wind.
Gu Jingyang gave a loud shout: “Manifest!”
Streaks of golden light surged upwards dazzlingly. The dust and grime swept up by the wind glowed with golden sparks. After the wind stopped and they suddenly halted in the air, the next instant they drifted down like snowflakes.
Gu Jingyang, in her spotless white robes, stood up and looked towards the sky. Her awe-inspiring face made Lan Fushang’s heart tremble fiercely; her sharp aura made her feel flustered and want to retreat three feet.
A’Ling had also never seen Gu Jingyang like this. Normally, she always had a spring-like smile and an indifferent demeanor towards everything. A’Ling always remembered that Gu Jingyang would be very powerful in the future, but she often forgot that Gu Jingyang was also a genius who had broken through to the Nascent Soul realm at a young age.
Looking at the person before her, who, with pursed lips and furrowed brows, exuded a soul-stirring presence in the biting mountain wind, A’Ling felt for the first time that the calm and imposing Gu Jingyang before her was no longer a child pampered by Gu Hongjue, but a truly reliable fellow disciple, teammate, and friend!
Golden light, falling like snowflakes, scattered and enveloped the entire Zhuoling Mountain. As far as the eye could see, everything was a brilliant golden.
Gu Jingyang lowered her gaze and looked at Zhuoling Mountain, covered in golden light, waiting for the golden light to recede and white smoke to rise.
She had improved this spell based on her mother’s spells. This was her first time using it today, and she didn’t know how effective it would be.
She kept her face taut, her expression solemn, not daring to show an ounce of nervousness, nor daring to turn back to see A’Ling and their reactions. In her heart, she silently prayed: Please, it must work.
If it failed, that would truly be a great embarrassment.
Gu Jingyang waited for a long time with a taut face. The white smoke that should have appeared in her imagination was nowhere to be seen. This was bad. Gu Jingyang was using this formation to scout for a great demon’s cave. Generally, when the formation dissipated, white smoke would rise from the location of the great demon’s cave.
Just as she was thinking, perhaps she should just say this formation was a performance for everyone to enjoy the sound, suddenly, rustling sounds echoed all around.
Soon, these rustling sounds grew louder and louder and echoed from all directions simultaneously. Gu Jingyang casually looked towards one source of sound; it was a snow-covered bush.
“Watch out!”
Gu Jingyang hastily retreated to stand in front of A’Ling, reaching out to shield the person behind her.
That ‘bush’ actually seemed to be rapidly growing, getting taller and taller. And more and more bushes like it were growing taller all around!
As these ‘bushes’ moved, the snow on top of them was shaken off onto the ground, and they gradually revealed their true forms.
“What the hell is this?!”
A’Ling’s eyes widened, staring at the ‘bushes’ in front of her. “No, not bushes!”
They were mutated demon beasts!
It was her first time seeing demon beasts with plants growing on their backs. Her scalp instantly tingled, so much that her limbs trembled slightly.
As far as the eye could see, all the bushes they had previously thought were plants now revealed pairs of eerie blue eyes, staring directly at them.
Gu Jingyang finally understood her previous strange feeling. Earlier, she had noticed these bushes subtly moving, regularly like an animal’s breathing.
“Quick, leave here first!” Gu Jingyang hastily activated her Moonfall Sword, pulled A’Ling onto it, and shouted to Lan Fushang: “Quick, leave here!”
Unfortunately, it was still a step too late.
The moment Gu Jingyang rose on her sword, the tall trees all around them suddenly shot upwards rapidly. Their canopies merged above them, forming an airtight barrier.
A’Ling looked down. Those ‘trees’ weren’t rapidly growing.
They had simply stood up!
