The Young Lady Only Wants to Cultivate Immortality Chapter 117

Extra 5

A’Ling felt a genuine urge to laugh and cry at the same time. She thought that this bizarre situation of mistaking someone was entirely not her fault.
In fact, if she thought about it, it wasn’t really mistaking someone.
Wasn’t that person also Shi Qingqian?
It was just not this lifetime’s Shi Qingqian.
A’Ling had figured out the situation when two Shi Qingqians appeared, but she didn’t know how the Shi Qingqian from the previous life had ended up in this one.
A’Ling felt that this couldn’t be blamed on her either. Even with eight more brains, she wouldn’t have imagined such a thing happening.
But seeing Shi Qingqian walk towards her step by step with a straight face, A’Ling didn’t know why, but the closer she got, the more guilty A’Ling felt.
A’Ling tried to recall what she had done after mistaking the person.
Fortunately, she hadn’t done much. She had only kissed her eyes and nose and said some rather improper teasing words.
Oh no, A’Ling suddenly remembered that when Shi Qingqian returned, she seemed to have been about to kiss that other Shi Qingqian.
Even though they hadn’t kissed in the end, from Shi Qingqian’s perspective, she was unsure of the situation.
As Shi Qingqian approached, A’Ling forced a smile and deliberately waved her hand, saying, “You’re back.”
After saying that, A’Ling felt even more awkward, as if she had just said the same thing not long ago, and to another Shi Qingqian.
She lowered her hand and dropped the fake smile, looking at Shi Qingqian’s eyes, which seemed to have been rained upon, feeling her heart become mottled as well.
“Um, let me explain, I—”
Before A’Ling could finish speaking, Shi Qingqian pulled her into a tight embrace, interrupting A’Ling’s explanation and responding to A’Ling’s previous sentence.
She said, “I’m back.”
There was a complex mixture of emotions in Shi Qingqian’s voice, and A’Ling sensed a trace of fear.
Shi Qingqian was indeed afraid. She was afraid that if she had returned any later, she would have lost A’Ling.
When the other person disappeared, what she wanted most was not to keep them, but she rushed forward so quickly because she was worried that the other person would take A’Ling away.
Fortunately, only she had disappeared.
A’Ling patted Shi Qingqian’s tightly held back, feeling that this matter still needed to be explained, “Listen to me, that person just now—”
“No need.”
Shi Qingqian interrupted A’Ling’s explanation again, which reminded A’Ling of something else.
Before they were to become Dao companions, A’Ling had asked Gu Jingyang what a Dao companion should be like and how to get along well.
She was a little worried that their union with Shi Qingqian might have been too impulsive. It seemed they had always been in a situation where they had to fight for their lives, but now their situation would clearly not have so many dangerous moments.
A’Ling felt uncertain about how to get along in peaceful times.
Gu Jingyang naturally ridiculed her fiercely, saying she was “too used to hardship and afraid of good days.” While she teased, Gu Jingyang still came up with a solution.
She found a couple who had been married for over five hundred years in Mystic Crane Mountain and asked them to share their experiences with A’Ling.
Hearing that they would be imparting their wisdom to Venerable Yue Ling, the couple happily agreed.
When A’Ling saw them, the couple was smiling very happily and sweetly, holding hands as they went to the high platform to share their thoughts.
However, after a short while, they discovered that they had different opinions on the same matter.
As they talked, they began to argue in front of A’Ling.
“Let me explain” “I don’t want to listen,” and finally, they were at an impasse where one wanted to explain and the other refused to listen.
A’Ling was very embarrassed, but at the same time, she no longer felt that nervous anxiety. Arguing like this was also a way for Dao companions to get along; there was no single correct method.
A’Ling returned from her memories and broke free from Shi Qingqian’s embrace with some effort. She still felt that the matter needed to be resolved immediately, and the best way to clear up misunderstandings was communication.
However, before that, A’Ling had one more thing to do, according to protocol.
She raised her face, her soft breath warming Shi Qingqian’s face. Just as her lips were about to touch Shi Qingqian’s, she deliberately paused.
“I missed you.”
The last syllable was muffled as it was spoken, and A’Ling closed her eyes, hiding the smile in her eyes.
This was more like it. Of course, she had met the right person. She knew that the previous encounter was incredibly wrong. How could she have mistaken someone? It was truly inexcusable!
She tilted her head up and chased her lips with hers. Shi Qingqian lowered her head and playfully bit her lower lip’s bead, her hot, wet tongue tracing it slowly.
A tingling sensation quickly spread throughout her body from her burning lips. A’Ling’s hands, which were around Shi Qingqian’s neck, tightened sharply, like a general’s premonition before an attack.
And the other party received this signal and directly chose to surrender.
Effortlessly, A’Ling’s tongue easily pried open the other person’s delicate teeth, delving deep and entangling with the soft tongue within.
The scorching breath mingled indistinguishably, noses brushed, teeth clashed, and tongues moved back and forth hotly, stirring up a pond of spring water, shimmering with rippling waves.
When A’Ling heard the sudden rustling of fabric in the quiet room, she regained a sliver of her senses. She hadn’t finished speaking yet.
A’Ling, panting and flushed, tried to pull her tongue away from Shi Qingqian’s mouth, but as soon as she showed signs of retreat, her head was pushed back.
The hands that were restraining her were no longer soft like they had been when they touched her back, but were strong as steel, allowing her no escape.
Shi Qingqian held A’Ling’s lips, breathing hot, heavy breaths, and said hoarsely, “Don’t go.”
A’Ling’s heart was deeply tickled by those lingering, affectionate words. The rising affection felt like hundreds of fluffy kittens in her heart, each one extending its paws to scratch her.
This ticklish feeling made her completely abandon her earlier plan for a heart-to-heart talk. She could only continue to entangle herself to relieve the itch. Their soft hair intertwined, creating an indescribable sensation.
As the sound of rustling fabric began, A’Ling swallowed forcefully, unwilling to be outdone. She also reached out to untie the other’s annoying sash, lifting layers of clothing and caressing Shi Qingqian’s waist.
The delicate, smooth skin felt hot in her palm. A’Ling’s heart felt like it would leap out of her chest. She caressed everywhere, setting fires everywhere, trying to alleviate this addictive tingling.
But she wasn’t the only one setting fires. Feeling the hands on her body doing the same scorching things, A’Ling’s slender, fair collarbone began to bead with sweat. It was too hot.
She retreated slightly, wanting to move further away from the source of the fire. Shi Qingqian was also hot, but she wanted to be even hotter.
She reached out and wiped away the tiny teardrops from the corner of A’Ling’s eyes with her thumb. Panting, she bit A’Ling’s already flushed, almost bleeding earlobe, and in A’Ling’s muffled groan, she tightly grasped their collars and quickly removed the obstacles.
Breathing rapidly, her knuckles turning white, A’Ling was suffocated by the kiss. Shi Qingqian’s momentum this time was too fierce, and she was actually a little overwhelmed, constantly retreating.
The sky, not yet completely dark, the quiet room, the faint breeze unable to lift the edges of fallen clothes, piled up, scattered wantonly, unnoticed.
After an unknown amount of time, the chaotic sounds, which one dared not listen to closely, gradually subsided.
When the sky had completely darkened, a sliver of moonlight shone through the glazed window above, flowing onto the bed and landing precisely on the slightly undulating thin quilt.
A’Ling lay stiffly, breathing in great gulps. Her unfocused gaze gradually gathered light.
Dual cultivation could be like this. A’Ling learned something new again. As her flushed face regained some sense, she turned her head to look at the person beside her.
Shi Qingqian lay on her side, looking at her, her eyes wet. Her thin eyelids had a blush as pink as peach blossoms in March. Her usually pale lips were now rosy and moist.
As she lay there on her side, a seductive shadow appeared between their exposed bodies. A’Ling’s trembling eyes gradually focused. Her burning gaze continued downwards along that shadow, and she saw the skin that had been rubbed red, causing her whole body to burn fiercely again.
She quickly averted her gaze, pulled the quilt over, and wrapped the person beside her tightly, leaving only her head exposed.
Shi Qingqian opened her eyes, still breathing heavily, and met A’Ling’s misty eyes. As the light gradually gathered, Shi Qingqian slightly moved her head and nuzzled against A’Ling’s pillow.
She kissed A’Ling’s flushed cheek and then rested her head in the crook of A’Ling’s neck, wrapping her arms around A’Ling’s waist, who hadn’t had time to get dressed.
She looked purely adoring, slightly wronged, and a little sad.
A’Ling was shocked. This person had been so domineering just moments ago, as if she wanted to devour her whole, and now she had become so fragile.
However, perhaps it was because she liked Shi Qingqian so much now, but no matter what posture Shi Qingqian took, A’Ling found it quite cute.
A’Ling suppressed the smile on her face, remembering the misunderstanding that had yet to be resolved before this intimacy. She reached out and placed her hand on Shi Qingqian’s arm that was around her.
There was still a damp warmth on it. A’Ling had to force herself to not recall the scorching scene from just now.
“That person just now—”
A’Ling didn’t know how to start. If she revealed the identity of the person from just now, it would inevitably expose another secret, a secret she still hadn’t told Shi Qingqian.
She had died once…
A’Ling didn’t know what was difficult about this matter, but because there had never been an opportunity, she had never mentioned it.
Perhaps she was also worried that if Shi Qingqian knew about this, she would feel that she had been deceived.
As A’Ling was struggling with how to begin, Shi Qingqian spoke, and what she said made A’Ling’s watery eyes widen in surprise.
“I know who she is.”
Shi Qingqian gave a wry smile and said with difficulty, “I know everything. She is the Shi Qingqian you knew in your previous life.”
A’Ling’s mouth fell open slightly in surprise, but she didn’t know what to say. Shi Qingqian actually knew everything.
“I also know something you don’t know, something I’ve never told you because I was too selfish and didn’t want you to know.”
A’Ling was very confused: “Ah?”
How had it become Shi Qingqian’s selfishness? She thought she was the selfish one. She had come back to life and knew many things in advance, but she had never told Shi Qingqian.
Shi Qingqian let out a long sigh. Since she had decided to speak, she had nothing more to hide. Besides, she also had a question that had been buried in her heart for a long, long time.
“I’ve seen things before, and I originally thought they were just dreams. Later, when the things I saw all came true, I realized they were all real.”
“I saw the life of the Shi Qingqian in your previous life, the misunderstandings between you, what she did for you, and finally, how she died for you.”
A’Ling tightened her grip on Shi Qingqian’s arm and repeated, “Died for me?”
Shi Qingqian nodded, “I saw her self-destruct just to gain divine power, to resurrect you.”
She continued, “It’s just that perhaps, death and rebirth goes against the Heavenly Dao. You didn’t live in her time, but instead, you returned to the past.”
A’Ling fell silent. So that was how it was. Her rebirth was exchanged with divine power by Shi Qingqian.
“You knew all this long ago, why didn’t you tell me?” A’Ling tilted her head to look at Shi Qingqian in confusion.
Shi Qingqian scoffed at herself, “It’s quite despicable, isn’t it? I didn’t want you to know that someone lost their life for you.”
A’Ling’s brow furrowed, “But, that’s you.”
Shi Qingqian heard this, tightened her hand on A’Ling’s waist, and clenched it into a fist, “That’s not me.”
A’Ling looked at Shi Qingqian’s pained expression and understood everything. Shi Qingqian didn’t think that she and the Shi Qingqian from her previous life were the same person.
She reached out and placed her hand on Shi Qingqian’s cheek. Their faces were identical, which was why, after the other Shi Qingqian appeared, A’Ling hadn’t recognized the difference at all.
But just now, when she was having dual cultivation with Shi Qingqian, she had seen the soul imprint of their Dao companion bond. The other person likely did not have it.
The person she chose to be her Dao companion was the Shi Qingqian in front of her.
They were indeed different!
A’Ling tightly hugged Shi Qingqian back, “You’re right, they are not one person. It’s my fault. I actually mistook someone.”
Shi Qingqian’s heart ached faintly. She asked the question that had been hidden in her heart for a long time, “Do you like me because of her?”
A’Ling’s heart skipped a beat. Where did this come from?
She quickly withdrew from Shi Qingqian’s embrace, “How could you think that? Of course not. Since you said you are two different people, you are you, and she is her, why would I like you because of her? If I liked her, why wouldn’t I just like her?”
Shi Qingqian was stumped by A’Ling’s rhetorical question. She opened her mouth, not knowing what to say.
Seeing Shi Qingqian’s inability to turn her thoughts around, A’Ling finally understood what she was sad about. She thought of herself as a replacement!
Was A’Ling someone who needed a replacement?
A’Ling felt a little displeased and got up to put on her clothes, not bothering to pick out which clothes were hers, just grabbing whatever she found.
“I don’t know if you’re looking down on yourself or looking down on me. Perhaps you think that because the other person died for me, I should like her.”
“No, that’s not it.” Shi Qingqian heard this and snapped out of her previous daze. How could she think that?
She could also risk her life for A’Ling, but she would never demand A’Ling’s affection because of it.
Feelings should not be an exchange.
Seeing A’Ling put on her clothes and about to leave, Shi Qingqian quickly moved to stop her. She was wrong. Her previous worries were all wrong.
Just as A’Ling had opened the door a crack, she felt a hot body press against her back. Looking down at the bare arms holding her, her eyes twitched sharply.
With a ‘clang,’ A’Ling heavily closed the door and turned around, only to see that this person was indeed not wearing any clothes…
A’Ling flusteredly embraced her. Although she knew there was no one else on the platform, it wasn’t absolute. Wasn’t the Shi Qingqian from before suddenly appearing on the platform?
“Quick, quick, put on your clothes first.” A’Ling fumbled to reach for the clothes on the ground, but Shi Qingqian held her tightly.
“A’Ling, I was wrong. I shouldn’t have thought that.”
A’Ling thought to herself, your mistake is not wearing clothes. She wasn’t really angry just now.
She just couldn’t figure out this complicated question: whether the Shi Qingqian in front of her and the Shi Qingqian from the previous life counted as one person, and whether her feelings for the Shi Qingqian of this life were influenced by the Shi Qingqian of the previous life.
How could she possibly figure these things out? She always disliked dwelling on things that had no clear answers.
She remembered the secret trick taught to her by one of the loving couples that Gu Jingyang had found for her – strike first.
She was only pretending to be angry to end the topic, and she didn’t expect Shi Qingqian to become so anxious.
A’Ling fumbled to tie Shi Qingqian’s sash and let out a sigh of relief. Although she had seen it before, with Shi Qingqian dressed so neatly and herself bare-chested, her mood was still hard to calm.
Shi Qingqian let A’Ling dress her haphazardly, her gaze nervously fixed on A’Ling, worried that she was still angry.
Seeing her nervous look, A’Ling’s heart tightened a little, feeling that she had made a mistake.
The way that couple interacted might not be suitable for her and Shi Qingqian. At least now, because of her preemptive strike, she felt very guilty.
“I’m not angry, I just, don’t know how to tell you.”
Shi Qingqian shook her head and hugged A’Ling tightly, “You don’t need to say it. I just need to know that you love me.”
As for why she loved her, it no longer mattered. As long as A’Ling’s person from now on was her.
A’Ling rested her chin on Shi Qingqian’s shoulder and looked at the night sky outside the glazed window, somewhat stunned. She thought that perhaps she had not expressed her love enough, which made Shi Qingqian so fearful.
She tilted her head slightly and kissed Shi Qingqian’s ear. After thinking for a moment, she whispered in her ear, “I love you.”
“You are like the stars in the dark night, like the bright moon in the night sky.”
“You are my eternal joy.”
Shi Qingqian listened to the sudden, soft voice and heard the content of her words. A warmth gradually rose in her heart, continuously gathering in her chest as if it were about to overflow.
She dazedly pulled back slightly and looked at the bright, lively eyes in front of her.
What she said was so beautiful. She was the star in the dark night, illuminating the grayness in her heart.
Shi Qingqian lowered her head and kissed the lips that seemed coated in honey and exuded sweetness, smiling and asking, “Anything else?”
She wanted to hear more, very much.
A’Ling tapped her on the head. Just as she was about to say this person was greedy, but seeing her expectant, sparkling eyes, she immediately found her eager appearance to be extremely charming.
She probably really liked this person, which was why she found everything about her to be good.
“Yes, just wait. After I find a school and study for a few years, I might be able to write you a collection of poems.”
Shi Qingqian pursed her lips and smiled sweetly, regardless of whether A’Ling was telling the truth or not, and leaned forward to kiss the sparkling corners of A’Ling’s eyes.
“Okay, I’ll wait. No matter how long it takes, I’ll wait.”
Shi Qingqian thought, at least now she was the one by A’Ling’s side, so what else was there to be conflicted about?
There was something, though. Shi Qingqian furrowed her brow slightly. Should she also find a school and study diligently for a few years?
After all, she couldn’t have A’Ling say such beautiful things while she could only say the simplest sentence.
Thinking of what she hadn’t had a chance to say upon her return.
She leaned close to A’Ling’s ear and spoke with utmost sincerity and deep affection of her irrepressible love.
“I love you, A’Ling.”

Agreed on the beautiful, dunno about rereading. It was really rough having to read all the way to chapter 70 before A’Ling even realized that Qingqian wasn’t out to get her.
