The Heroine Made a Pact With Senior Sister (GL) Chapter 81

Chapter 81

Seeing Xirui kneel, Huixue immediately turned her gaze toward Mu Yinfeng.
Mu Yinfeng was staring at Xirui. Points of light flickered deep in her eyes. Huixue sighed and gently placed a hand on Mu Yinfeng’s shoulder.
“Did you not promise me you would not use the Spirit Gu Control Curse?” Huixue asked in a low voice.
Mu Yinfeng turned her head. “But she spoke of Senior Sister that way. I…”
To Mu Yinfeng, it did not matter what others said about her. But when they spoke of Huixue that way, a resistance rose in her by instinct. She did not want to hear anyone say such things about Huixue.
“It is fine.” Huixue placed one hand in front of Mu Yinfeng’s eyes and held Mu Yinfeng tightly at the same time. Mu Yinfeng felt a vast mental power surge into her sea of consciousness. In an instant, it seized her control over Xirui’s sea of consciousness.
Xirui looked around blankly. When she realized she was kneeling on the ground, she flushed with shame and anger. She jumped up and raised her hand to strike Si Yan.
At the same time, a snow-white length of silk shot out and wrapped around her wrist, forcefully pulling her hand back.
Huixue stepped forward.
Thinking of what she had just said, Xirui trembled all over with fear. Her legs were so weak she could barely stand. She wanted to retreat, but Tianbing pulled her in place, leaving her unable to move.
“Although this year’s Immortal Sects Assembly is hosted by Mirror Flower Hall, that does not mean Mirror Flower Hall alone decides everything.” Huixue drew Tianbing in and pulled Xirui straight in front of her. “Miss Xirui insulted Hanyou Valley disciples. How should that be counted in Mirror Flower Hall?”
Xirui looked at Huixue, then at Abi beside her. At last, her gaze landed on Mu Yinfeng. As if she had remembered something, she pointed at Mu Yinfeng and screamed, “You, you demoness! Hanyou Valley is sheltering a demoness. How will Guiyuan Tower count that?”
Mu Yinfeng was startled. From Xirui’s tone, Shanglin Sect had already spread the matter to Mirror Flower Hall. Perhaps it had already spread through most of the sects at the Immortal Sects Assembly.
But this was within her expectations too. It was very obvious she had not killed anyone. If the rumor spread further and forced Guiyuan Tower to investigate, then she might be able to use Guiyuan Tower’s power to find the true culprit who had framed her.
The witch clan?
Mu Yinfeng narrowed her eyes. A strange smile curved her lips for an instant, vanishing as quickly as it came. It was extremely cold.
“She is not a demoness.” Huixue argued, pulling Mu Yinfeng closer into her arms.
“How could she be? Are you foolish? Why would you say that about Yinfeng?” Seeing that the situation had turned, Abi also moved in front of Mu Yinfeng to protect her.
“She clearly killed so many Shanglin Sect disciples, and she killed Shanglin Sect’s Second Elder too. You are still protecting her. Are you not afraid she will kill you one day?” Xirui shouted.
She was the youngest daughter of Mirror Flower Hall’s master and did have some strength. She had cultivated eye arts since she was young. Her eyes could see through a person’s aura. When she looked at Mu Yinfeng, she clearly felt a strong aura of slaughter. Before that aura, she could barely maintain her eye art.
How could a teenager carry such a heavy aura of slaughter? Because of that, she believed the rumor even more. Mu Yinfeng was the murderer who had killed Shanglin Sect’s disciples and elder.
“I said it was not me.” Mu Yinfeng rested her chin on one hand and studied Xirui carefully. “Miss Xirui’s eyes are not bad.”
“Before these eyes of mine, there is no way for you to hide what kind of person you are!” Xirui said proudly. “If you go to Guiyuan Tower and confess, then our Mirror Flower Hall might even speak a few good words for Hanyou Valley. Otherwise, you know very well what will happen!”
Mu Yinfeng found it funny. She stared into Xirui’s eyes. The Linglong Heart Method turned silently, and she smiled faintly. “Is that so? What if I do not go?”
The moment she said this, she belatedly realized Huixue was still beside her. Acting like this in front of Huixue was really not a good thing. She blinked, squeezed out a few tears, turned, and threw herself into Huixue’s arms.
“Senior Sister, she is slandering me like this. Will Senior Sister not do anything?”
“You!” Xirui was left at a loss by this change. She had not expected one person to have two faces in the space of a single breath.
Huixue held Mu Yinfeng like a mother hen protecting a chick and lifted her eyes toward Xirui. Xirui felt cold all over, as if she had fallen into an endless ice pit.
“I believe her,” Huixue said coldly. “Miss Xirui should not hear only one side and make a firm conclusion.”
“I did not! Shanglin Sect is a whole sect. If word spread that they slandered another sect’s disciple, how could they stand in the cultivation world? I still choose to believe Shanglin Sect!”
“Since Miss Xirui chooses to believe Shanglin Sect, I have the right to believe Yinfeng. She did not do it,” Huixue said, word by word. “If Miss Xirui insists that Hanyou Valley’s Mu Yinfeng is the culprit, then you had better produce evidence. Empty words are not proof.”
“Mirror Flower Hall’s young lady is famous across the world for making trouble without reason. Why waste words with her?” A cold, gloomy voice came over. It was Ming Ziyou.
Xirui was already full of anger with nowhere to vent it. Now Ming Ziyou happened to crash straight into that anger. Furious, she cursed, “You dead evil cultivator. I truly do not know where Mingxin Sect gets the face to attend the Immortal Sects Assembly. Everyone in the cultivation world shouts for your deaths. If you did not borrow power from that old demoness, do you think Mingxin Sect could have survived this long?”
Ming Ziyou turned his head away and ignored Xirui, as if treating her like empty air.
“This place is not good for talking. Miss Mu, I have something to ask you.” Ming Ziyou spoke calmly. At the same time, his gaze swept briefly over Huixue, and he added, “Miss Huixue may come as well. I will not harm Miss Mu.”
“Can you not say it here?” Mu Yinfeng asked in confusion.
“It is private.” Ming Ziyou’s gaze shifted. “There are too many people here, and some mouths are loose. It is inconvenient.”
Hearing this, Xirui’s temper was lit again like a powder keg. She had just been about to flare up when someone grabbed her wrist. Her body went numb, and she was fixed in place.
“Senior Sister, Junior Sister Yinfeng, go ahead. I will watch things here.” Abi turned a needle in her hand and smiled slightly.
At that moment, Si Yan and Sanqi also came over to join them. With Si Yan there, Mu Yinfeng relaxed a little, then followed Ming Ziyou to the waterfall with Huixue.
The waterfall thundered, splashing countless white beads of water. It flowed into a clear pool, and water vapor rose all around them in a mist. If one stood here for even a little while, one’s clothes would feel soaked by the moisture.
Ming Ziyou stopped only when he reached a stone beside the pool. He turned his head, and his gaze fell on Mu Yinfeng. More precisely, it fell on Mu Yinfeng’s left wrist.
“What is your relationship with Lord Yimu?” Ming Ziyou stared at the blood vine hidden by Mu Yinfeng’s sleeve. “Why do you have Lord Yimu’s blood vine?”
When he spoke of Yimu, Ming Ziyou’s attitude was very respectful. But no one found it strange that he respected a demoness hunted by the entire cultivation world, because that demoness hunted by the whole cultivation world had protected Mingxin Sect for so many years.
“She gave it to me.” Mu Yinfeng felt that if she said it so directly, Ming Ziyou definitely would not believe her. But it was the truth, and she could not use anything else to brush him off.
To her surprise, Ming Ziyou listened seriously. He nodded. “What is Miss Mu to Lord Yimu? Why would Lord Yimu give the blood vine to Miss Mu?”
Now he did not seem like the icy boy from before. His tone was full of the joy of meeting an old friend.
“I do not know either.” Mu Yinfeng shook her head, then asked, “Why is Young Master Ming asking this?”
“Lord Yimu is Mingxin Sect’s benefactor. Although Mingxin Sect consists of evil cultivators, we still understand that kindness must be repaid. But Lord Yimu’s whereabouts are hard to predict. If Miss Mu has some relationship with Lord Yimu, Mingxin Sect will treat Miss Mu the same way we treat Lord Yimu.” As he spoke, Ming Ziyou glanced at Huixue.
“She does not have the kind of relationship with Yimu that you are imagining, and she never will.” Huixue met his gaze and firmly refuted him.
Ming Ziyou thoughtfully shifted his gaze to Mu Yinfeng and tested, “Would Miss Mu be willing to let Ziyou see the blood vine?”
Mu Yinfeng nodded. The blood vine received her thought and changed from a bracelet into a whip. A dazzling red light flashed, and the blood vine lay quietly in her hand.
Ming Ziyou wanted to take the blood vine, but as soon as his hand approached it, red light repelled him. He tried several times, and the result was the same. It seemed that when the blood vine was in its true form, it would not allow anyone except Mu Yinfeng to approach it.
“The blood vine has acknowledged a master?” A little surprise appeared in Ming Ziyou’s indifferent tone. Spiritual energy formed in his palm, and he sent it straight toward Mu Yinfeng’s hand holding the blood vine. Very soon, he paid the price for that test. Red and blue light flared in turn, joining forces to knock Ming Ziyou into the pool.
Before Ming Ziyou could climb out of the pool, the waterfall stopped flowing and the pool froze over. Snowflakes large as mats fell. They directly froze Ming Ziyou, who had surfaced halfway, into the ice.
Although firelight rose around Ming Ziyou, it only shone for one breath before the snowflakes extinguished it. Ming Ziyou was shocked to discover that the snowflakes also had the added effect of absorbing spiritual energy. His spiritual energy was being eaten away bit by bit.
Huixue slowly walked toward Ming Ziyou. Tianbing leaped out from her palm and rushed straight toward his neck. With one order from Huixue, Ming Ziyou’s neck would be snapped by force.
Seeing a Bing Fire divine envoy about to fall in Huixue’s hands, Mu Yinfeng hurriedly called out to stop her. “Senior Sister, do not. He had no ill intent. He only wanted to test how fully the blood vine had acknowledged me as master. He did not mean to hurt me!”
“Miss Mu?”
“Yinfeng!”
Mu Yinfeng hurried onto the ice and stood between Huixue and Ming Ziyou. “Young Master Ming only wanted to test the blood vine just now. He would not hurt me, because I have the blood vine. Right, Young Master Ming?”
Ming Ziyou nodded. “Exactly.”
“Then what if the blood vine had not fully acknowledged you as master, and he really had hurt you?” Huixue stared at Mu Yinfeng and asked. “Could you still protect him like this then?”
“He would not hurt me.” Mu Yinfeng smiled lightly. “I believe Young Master Ming would have stopped in time. Even I cannot match Young Master Ming’s control over spiritual energy.”
“Truly?” Huixue looked at Mu Yinfeng doubtfully. The girl before her smiled and spoke as usual, as if she were only stating facts.
In her previous life, Huixue had not had any dealings with Ming Ziyou, so she did not understand his control over spiritual energy very well. But how did Mu Yinfeng know? Doubt rose in Huixue’s heart.
Even so, Huixue still sighed. “Since you say so, then we will do as you wish.”
