The Heroine Made a Pact With Senior Sister (GL) Chapter 16

Chapter 16

Liufei’s edge pressed against her throat. Mu Yinfeng tried to control herself and keep still, but she could not help leaning backward a little. She heard Huixue laugh coldly. Then her shoulder tightened, and her back quickly separated from the front of Huixue’s robe.
“I am Mu Yinfeng. Has Senior Sister not already asked me that?” Mu Yinfeng asked softly.
“You are not the Mu Yinfeng I know,” Huixue said coldly. “If you really were Mu Yinfeng, with Liufei held across your neck like this, you would rather throw yourself onto Liufei than shrink backward.”
“That is Senior Sister’s evidence?” Mu Yinfeng reached back and grasped Huixue’s wrist. Although Huixue’s hand moved slightly, the sword remained extremely steady. Mu Yinfeng’s movement did not make it waver at all.
In that case, Huixue probably did not truly intend to kill her. After testing this, Mu Yinfeng withdrew her hand so she would not further anger Huixue, and returned to a gentle tone.
“People can change. Besides, Senior Sister and Yinfeng were not very familiar in the past. Why insist that Yinfeng is not Yinfeng?”
“If people change, you have changed too much. But I believe you. Your change is not a bad thing.” Huixue’s voice was soft, but coldness threaded through it. Liufei’s blade suddenly turned and flicked upward. Then Huixue pushed Mu Yinfeng away with her other hand. Tianbing quickly shot out and formed a circle, protecting Mu Yinfeng inside.
Just then, the coiled vines on the ground broke through the soil one after another. The sound of them tearing through the air split the silence of the night. Mu Yinfeng had just steadied herself when she saw a half-transparent silver barrier rise around her. Outside the barrier, hundreds and thousands of vines surged toward Huixue at once. Liufei’s sword light was sharp, and in an instant, broken vine pieces filled the space around Huixue. Even after those vines had been cut to pieces, they still counterattacked her.
What exactly was going on?
And Tianbing’s attitude was no longer as relaxed as before. No matter how Mu Yinfeng tried to escape, Tianbing kept maintaining the silver barrier and refused to let her step even half a pace outside it.
“Senior Sister, let me out! Tianbing!” Mu Yinfeng slapped the barrier and shouted, “Senior Sister, be careful! The one outside might be… might be Yimu!”
“I will be careful. Mind yourself.” Amid the sounds of vines ripping through the air, Huixue’s tone remained calm and unhurried, as if the one before her was not a troublesome enemy but an ordinary trial.
But Huixue, you are wrong. The Yimu outside is not someone you can deal with. Mu Yinfeng stopped hitting the barrier and stared at that white figure inside the vortex of vines, her face pale. She knew very well that Yimu was not someone just anyone could handle.
Yimu was someone who appeared later in the plot. She should be the owner of the primordial yin-wood spiritual root Huixue and Bing Ling’er had mentioned earlier. No one knew her surname or given name, so people often used the term “Yimu” to refer to her. The world only knew that this person often wore black, wore a plain silver mask on her face, and held a blood vine. Wherever she passed, all plants fell under her control. The plants under her control all carried deadly poison, but looked no different from ordinary plants. Once they suddenly attacked, almost no one could escape her poisonous hand.
And this Yimu was the most terrifying person Mu Yinfeng would face. No one else came close.
What made Yimu frightening was that she had no flaws. When she attacked, her body was always hidden in darkness. Her aura was concealed extremely well. Even if someone brushed past her on the road, they might not notice she existed. In the future, Mu Yinfeng would fight Yimu many times. Each time, she relied on her own strength to clash with Yimu head-on. Although she could retreat safely, she had never once knocked off Yimu’s mask or seen her true face.
One had to know that by the late stage, Mu Yinfeng was already at the ceiling of combat power in the cultivation world. Even then, she could not harm Yimu in the slightest. How could the current Yimu be someone Huixue could deal with?
Thinking of this, Mu Yinfeng’s voice turned a little sharp. “Senior Sister, let me out. That is not someone you can handle! Only if we join hands is there a chance!”
Huixue raised her eyes and looked at Mu Yinfeng, her gaze cold. Then she quickly turned away, cleanly cutting down a vine that lunged at her face. She flashed backward, and another attacking vine did not even touch her clothes.
She was using action to prove to Mu Yinfeng that these things were nothing.
Seeing that Huixue ignored her, Mu Yinfeng could only place hope in Tianbing. “Tianbing, trust me. Let me out. I can help Senior Sister drive this person back. Senior Sister cannot do it alone, truly…”
Tianbing seemed moved. The silver light dimmed slightly. But at that moment, both person and silk felt a cold gaze sweep over them. The light instantly became much stronger than before, even shattering a vine that had been sneaking toward Mu Yinfeng into powder.
Since that was the case, then she could only apologize to Tianbing. Mu Yinfeng made up her mind. The necklace at her neck was untied again. All the anxious, worried emotions in her eyes vanished, replaced by endless coldness.
Mu Yinfeng recited the true formula, and Changyin jumped into her arms. Changyin’s strings trembled softly, as if something had struck the center of the barrier. Silver light shook across the barrier like a huge stone thrown into water.
“I do not want to hurt you, Tianbing. Let me out.” Mu Yinfeng held Changyin. “You are very smart. You should know how to seek benefit and avoid harm.”
The silver barrier trembled. Its light gradually faded into nothing. In the end, there was only a strip of brocade silk lying motionless on the ground, looking pitiful and wronged.
“Thank you.” Mu Yinfeng quickly jumped out of the circle Tianbing had formed, dodged a surprise attack from above, and moved her fingers. Clear pipa notes rang out, turning into ten thousand blades of light that rushed toward the vines and shredded the vines surging toward Huixue.
Yin energy spread around Mu Yinfeng, merging with the night. From a distance, her figure appeared and disappeared inside the yin energy, like a demon woman standing in the darkness. Merely standing there holding the pipa was enough to make one’s heart tremble.
As the pipa melody sounded, the vines quickly changed targets and rushed toward Mu Yinfeng. Huixue recovered from her initial shock. Wherever her sword light passed, vines were cut at the root. At the same time, the frost-snow mark on her forehead suddenly flashed bright. An icy blue halo spread from beneath her feet, and drifting snowflakes fell from the sky, forcibly freezing the vines in place.
“This was not the time for you to come out.” A withered leaf stuck to Huixue’s Liufei. A drop of striking blood clung to the leaf. Mu Yinfeng’s gaze moved to Huixue and saw that the Snow Silk Robe on Huixue’s left shoulder had been torn open, revealing a scrape. The bleeding had already stopped, but the edge of the wound was faintly black.
Mu Yinfeng rushed over in three steps and pushed aside the torn cloth around the wound. “You were poisoned?”
“No.” Huixue denied it flatly. “We need to go down quickly. If I activate my ice-snow domain on Yongmu Peak, someone will definitely discover it.”
“But…” Mu Yinfeng’s gaze did not leave Huixue’s shoulder. The black energy at the wound was growing stronger and stronger. “All the vines here were poisoned by Yimu. Senior Sister, do not move. I will suck the poison out for you.”
Mu Yinfeng had just lowered her head, preparing to suck out the poisoned blood, when Huixue’s spiritual energy knocked her away.
“Do not touch me. I am fine!” Huixue pulled her clothes closed, withdrew her ice-snow domain, and ran down the mountain in a huff, not even taking Tianbing back.
“Senior Sister!” Mu Yinfeng wanted to chase after her, but suddenly felt a hand firmly grip her shoulder. The owner of that hand was so close, yet Mu Yinfeng had not sensed her at all.
“Are you that unwilling to part with her, Yinfeng?”
