Spectating the Angsty Romance of the Master and Disciple from the Sect Next Door Chapter 19

What if she finally understood?

Not just Li Jin’an, even Xie Huaixue stopped and looked at Jiang Fengmian.
Beside them were the three from Jijin Peak, silent but with a strong presence, and the three problematic beings from Qingxiao Peak, all looking at her in unison, following their respective Master and Immortal Venerable.
Jiang Fengmian inexplicably grew nervous again. She thought for a moment and answered seriously, “There’s no need to deliberately curry favor. Peaceful coexistence would suffice.”
Li Jin’an was not surprised by her answer.
Because Jiang Fengmian was just that kind of person: a truly good-natured person.
Unlike Xie Huaixue, who was overly cold, nor like Li Jin’an, who was so aggressive, even if she knew that someone who was her enemy would rise to power in the future, she wouldn’t actively move to eliminate the other party before they truly harmed her.
Striking first was not a principle Jiang Fengmian lived by.
Li Jin’an disapproved of this approach and felt that Jiang Fengmian was still as naive as when they first met, completely unchanged. However, she was reasonable enough not to directly call Jiang Fengmian a fool.
This was her Dao heart and persistence. It had nothing to do with right or wrong. If it changed easily, then the collapse of her Dao heart wouldn’t be far.
She didn’t speak, but Jiang Fengmian, instead, curiously asked, “Is there any meaning behind your question?”
Li Jin’an’s gaze swept over the four Qingxiao Peak master-disciple figures, then looked at her own three curious children. She shook her head nonchalantly, without showing any abnormality. “No special meaning, I just thought of it suddenly.”
Actually, there was. She planned to use Jiang Fengmian as a cautionary tale and resolutely take the opposite path from Jiang Fengmian.
Take it as a warning, then embark on a massacre!
She had a face that didn’t look like a good-natured person’s and was even less capable of being benevolent towards problematic beings. She definitely had to take advantage of the time when these small problematic beings hadn’t grown into big ones and beat them until they developed heart demons!
It didn’t matter if she couldn’t directly harm them; the cultivation world had plenty of ways to cause immense pain without physical injury. The problematic beings could even choose three different types of beatings over two days.
The four Qingxiao Peak master-disciple figures were all watching Li Jin’an and Jiang Fengmian, who were speaking in a familiar tone and chatting casually. The three disciples slightly lowered their guard against them.
Xie Huaixue cast a brief glance and then lowered her eyelids, no longer paying attention.
The people from the three peaks, belonging to different sects, parted ways here.
Jiang Fengmian hastily flew away on her flying sword. Having mediated various situations throughout the day, afraid that if she missed a single glance, it would either be the Dao Sect declaring war on the Sword Sect, or vice versa. Even a good-natured person couldn’t handle it!
The setting sun melted into gold, and the evening clouds merged like jade.
Li Jin’an looked up at the setting sun, frowning and muttering to herself, “I always feel like I forgot something. What could it be?”
The three from Jijin Peak looked at each other and immediately dispersed, running to the guest courtyard to rest. They certainly didn’t want to be caught by their Master and made to help her remember what she had forgotten.
On the other side, Xiaoxiang Sword Lord and Junxing Sword Lord, who were still engaging in verbal sparring with Elder Zhang of the Dao Sect, had numb expressions. They just wanted to take paper and glue Elder Zhang’s mouth shut.
They not only wanted to stab Elder Zhang, that smiling old man, with their swords; no wonder the Jijin Sword Sovereign only fought and didn’t like to talk when she visited the Dao Sect. It was truly because every sentence spoken by people from the Dao Sect had three meanings, and just listening made them restless. They even wanted to stab their sect leader; no wonder his expression was so subtle when he gave them the invitations earlier. It turned out he had anticipated it.
Next time there’s such a ‘good job’ as accompanying the Jijin Sword Sovereign out, make sure not to call them!
Li Jin’an, meditating and cultivating in the Qingxiao Peak guest courtyard in the middle of the night, got distracted. She suddenly remembered what she had forgotten: It was her Sword Sect colleagues!
So she opened her eyes and released a paper crane to tell Sword Lords Xiaoxiang and Junxing that their Jijin Peak would not be returning to the Sword Sect, and they were going to stay and eat Qingxiao Immortal Venerable out of house and home.
Very inconsiderately disturbing people’s sweet dreams in the middle of the night.

The next day, early in the morning.
Ning Zhufeng, who had just joined the ranks of early risers to greet her Master, was quietly waiting in front of the cave dwelling. Cold winds howled on Qingxiao Peak’s summit, but couldn’t extinguish the fervent warmth in her heart. She looked up at the cave dwelling with an almost naked sincerity, her expression full of longing.
Senior Sister Lan Ci and Second Senior Sister Zhong Fei both noted her reaction and silently increased their vigilance towards Ning Zhufeng.
Compared to Jiang Fengmian, with whom they rarely interacted, and Li Jin’an, the outer sect peak master, Ning Zhufeng in front of them was still a greater threat.
Regardless of whether Ning Zhufeng was purely overly reverent towards their Master or something else, she was simply too much of an eyesore.
Qingxiao Immortal Venerable would only be hers, and hers alone.
Just thinking about it, her incomplete soul vibrated with joy.
Although the three didn’t say a single word, their eyes had already exchanged countless blows in private, with one person isolating the other two.
In such a strange atmosphere, chirping and chattering noises came from down the mountain, growing clearer as they approached.
This was a situation that couldn’t possibly have happened on Qingxiao Peak in the past. Xie Huaixue preferred quiet, and besides the master and her two disciples, there were no others. Even Lan Ci and Zhong Fei weren’t talkative by nature; even if they wanted to get closer to Master, they didn’t dare to show it too obviously, and they usually exchanged very few words.
And this commotion was too noisy and too ostentatious, exuding vibrant life, and completely out of place with Qingxiao Peak.
The three followed the source of the sound and looked over. Although they already had a bad premonition in their hearts, their eyelids still twitched the moment they saw the arrivals.
The four master and disciples from Jijin Peak acted as if they owned the place, walking towards the summit through the dew.
A quarter of an hour earlier.
Ling Qiu pulled Qi Lingzi and complained about Second Senior Sister, saying she owed money and refused to pay, and attempted to use storybooks to pay off the debt.
Qi Lingzi silently took out ten mid-grade spiritual stones and handed them to Ling Qiu, softly appeasing her, “Little Junior Sister, don’t be angry. I’ll give you ten mid-grade spiritual stones, and only give her three.”
It was mid-month. Tan Yanyi and Ling Qiu were both big spenders, one more extravagant than the other. Every time this happened, Qi Lingzi had to spend money and settle their disputes.
Sometimes Li Jin’an genuinely suspected these two were colluding to trick Qi Lingzi out of spiritual stones. Qi Lingzi retorted that even if they asked her directly, she would still give her junior sisters spiritual stones. Li Jin’an was speechless and could only, in front of the other two covetous disciples, give Qi Lingzi some extra spiritual stones.
Tan Yanyi was loudly munching on a hot steamed bun, pretending not to hear Ling Qiu’s accusation against her. She curiously asked Li Jin’an, “Master, where did you get such delicious steamed buns? They smell so good!”
Li Jin’an held a paper bag in each hand, each filled with steaming, fragrant steamed buns. She was staring at the buns, contemplating something very serious. Hearing this, she glanced at her second disciple askance and grumbled, “You know where I got them? Are you going to go find a master to learn how to make them, then come back and set up a stall in the Sword Sect selling steamed buns?”
Of course, it was her who couldn’t sleep on Qingxiao Peak and sneaked down the mountain in the dark, waiting in front of the steamed bun shop for the first batch of freshly baked steamed buns to come out.
“If Master doesn’t mind me having another master, then I can!” Tan Yanyi said, captivated. “These steamed buns are too delicious! They’re the best steamed buns I’ve ever eaten!”
“This Master minds. Scram!”
Li Jin’an minded greatly, whether Tan Yanyi went to learn how to make steamed buns or wanted to know where the steamed bun shop was.
No need to say more about the former; if Tan Yanyi really succeeded, the Jijin Sword Sovereign’s reputation would be ruined, thrown from the human realm to the demon realm and then around a corner to the monster realm. As for the latter, it was Li Jin’an’s own reason: she was just being stingy, not wanting others to know the address of the steamed bun shop.
Tan Yanyi shrieked rambunctiously, trying to trick her senior and junior sisters out of their steamed buns. She surrounded Li Jin’an, looking at her expectantly, hoping steamed buns would miraculously appear in her mouth.
This was the source of the noisy commotion that Lan Ci and the other two heard.
Upon arriving at the cave dwelling’s entrance, Ling Qiu shivered from the cold wind and leaned closer to Qi Lingzi. “Master, why did we wake up so early to find the Immortal Venerable?”
Li Jin’an slung two bags of steamed buns behind her back. “Everyone says the Qingxiao Immortal Venerable is skilled at teaching disciples. It’s rare for us to visit the Dao Sect, so you might as well soak in some of her influence. What if you suddenly gain enlightenment? Your master has high expectations for you.” Surely, the Qingxiao Immortal Venerable, who harbors great righteousness in her heart, will be more than happy to take on other people’s unlucky disciples.
Tan Yanyi was dumbfounded and sneezed. “We don’t have to just stand here waiting at the entrance, do we? It’s not like we’ve done something wrong and are waiting to confess to the Immortal Venerable. Aren’t there chairs in the main hall? Or has the Immortal Venerable set a rule?”
Li Jin’an snorted a laugh. “Qingxiao doesn’t like crowds. If you truly want to show filial piety, being on time is enough. There’s absolutely no need to go through such extra trouble to try and guess Qingxiao’s thoughts. You’ll only waste your own time and trouble Qingxiao.”
Qi Lingzi and Ling Qiu also looked strangely at the three from Qingxiao Peak. They thought they looked a bit… off in the head, especially Ning Zhufeng, who was already short and frail. The cold wind made her seem like she might float away at any moment.
Lan Ci said with a dark expression, “Master has no such rule. It’s just that we didn’t want to disturb Master’s peace, so we specifically waited here.”
If not for the four interlopers, they would have waited until dawn fully broke to show their sincerity, believing they had formed a small tacit understanding with Xie Huaixue, their master. But after Tan Yanyi and Li Jin’an’s remarks, not only did their sincerity disappear, but it also made them seem cunning and as if they were pressuring their Master.
To make matters worse, they were juniors, so it was difficult for them to retort.
Lan Ci swallowed her anger. She cupped her hands towards Li Jin’an. “Thank you for your guidance, Sword Sovereign.”
The three from Jijin Peak shook their heads in confusion and disapproval. They followed Li Jin’an into the main hall and each found a chair to sit on.
Compared to the three idiots still freezing outside, their vanity was greatly satisfied.
Li Jin’an had just accused other disciples of disturbing the Immortal Venerable, yet she herself, with her hands behind her back, leisurely strolled into the bedroom. She seemed even more familiar with it than her own bedroom on Jijin Peak.
Seeing her enter, Xie Huaixue flipped her wrist, covering the book in her hand on the table. Only then did she look up at Li Jin’an.
“Can I even snatch your book?” Li Jin’an rolled her eyes and sat down huffily opposite Xie Huaixue. She looked at the sky and then at the ground, but not at the person opposite her. After dawdling for a while, she fake coughed twice, her expression extremely unnatural, as she glanced at the other person out of the corner of her eye. “Um, do you eat steamed buns from Granny Wang’s Steamed Bun Shop?”

Good chapter

Oh good lord, Li Jin’an has to be the most backwards speaking woman I’ve ever read about. She acts like she doesn’t care yet every action contradicted her thoughts. Sigh….
