Running Off With The Sect Senior Sister Chapter 41

Two Worlds

Just as Luo Tangtang was lost in thought, two slender, long tendrils suddenly shot out from the sides of the frozen white disc, like tentacles, wrapping around Luo Tangtang’s legs.
“Hmm?” Luo Tangtang felt a tightness around her calves. She looked down at the things coiled around her legs, then back at the frozen white disc. It blinked its eyes at her and let out a chirp, as if begging for mercy.
Even the ice couldn’t freeze its mouth. Luo Tangtang stared, dumbfounded, at the scene before her. She suddenly felt her knowledge was far too limited. The cultivation world truly held all sorts of wonders, ever-changing and diverse.
Even more astonishingly, the slender, cyan roots forming its body beneath the white disc also pierced through the ice. A dazzling light erupted from it, blindingly bright. At that moment, whether intentionally or not, it bumped Luo Tangtang quite fiercely. Then, with a flash before Luo Tangtang’s eyes, the white disc, its upper half still encased in ice, zipped away at a speed that blurred the vision.
Luo Tangtang: “…” That thing is really sneaky.
Yun Shayi watched quietly from the side. Initially, her expression seemed somewhat dazed. But after the light flashed, her eyes abruptly turned cold, as dark as if a thick layer of ink had been spilled, spreading out.
“Hmm?” Luo Tangtang stared ahead, somewhat stunned. It was as if two worlds had appeared, separated by an enormous screen that towered into the clouds. Beyond the screen lay one world where dark clouds blotted out the sun, and inky blackness churned, obscuring the sky.
Thunder rumbled in her ears, and a chilling wind swept past, making the grass and trees sway. A grim, murderous aura permeated the air.
Yet, where she stood was another world entirely: birds sang, emerald waters flowed, and mountains rose in layers, so beautiful it seemed unreal.
What was going on? Luo Tangtang blinked, wondering if her eyes were deceiving her.
Just as she was about to rub her eyes, a pair of cool hands gently touched her face.
“What’s wrong?” Yun Shayi tilted Luo Tangtang’s face up, her touch gentle yet firm, compelling Luo Tangtang to look at her.
“Se… Senior Sister, over there?” Luo Tangtang pointed ahead.
Hmm? Luo Tangtang’s eyes slowly widened. Her hand, which had been pointing, quickly retracted, and she vigorously rubbed her eyes.
It was gone!
How could it be gone?
Luo Tangtang stood frozen, her expression a mixture of dazed disbelief. How could this be? I clearly saw it just now.
“There’s nothing there. Perhaps you saw wrong,” Yun Shayi said, gently taking Luo Tangtang’s hands away from her temples. Her fingertips seemed to unconsciously brush against Luo Tangtang’s long eyelashes.
“Don’t rub your eyes so hard. They’re already red.”
“Mhm,” Luo Tangtang mumbled, turning to look at Yun Shayi again.
Maybe I really did see it wrong, Luo Tangtang thought. Her gaze shifted to the front—just a stretch of green grass, nothing out of the ordinary. Yet, a doubt had sprouted in her heart and refused to disappear.
“Senior Sister, did you really not see it? The two worlds?” After a moment, Luo Tangtang asked again, still unconvinced. She felt something was amiss.
“Really, there was nothing.” Yun Shayi’s gaze flickered, darkening for an instant before softening again, becoming gentler than ever before.
So gentle, in fact, that Luo Tangtang found it a little unsettling.
“Senior Sister, what’s wrong?” Luo Tangtang swallowed, a sudden unease creeping into her heart.
“Nothing,” Yun Shayi said, withdrawing her hand and lowering her gaze. “Let’s go look elsewhere.”
“O…Okay.” Luo Tangtang forced down the sudden unease in her heart, nodded, and followed Yun Shayi.
She didn’t notice that Yun Shayi, walking beside her, had slowed her pace slightly. Yun Shayi glanced back coldly, her eyes, fixed on a certain spot, filled with a hint of killing intent and a clear warning.
The white disc, which had been hiding behind a brown rock, trembled instantly. Its two tendrils shot out, and it buried its ‘face’ with them.
Heavens, that was terrifying! What did I just see? I just want to go home!
“Senior Sister, slow down!” After just a few steps, Luo Tangtang felt something was off. Yun Shayi had started slowly, but her pace quickened until Luo Tangtang had to jog to keep up.
“Wait for me!” Luo Tangtang called out anxiously to the figure ahead.
Finally, when she really couldn’t keep up, she used a teleportation skill to appear directly in front of Yun Shayi, her arms spread wide, blocking her path.
“What did I do? Why are you suddenly angry with me?” A wave of grievance washed over Luo Tangtang, and her eyes reddened.
Yun Shayi’s gaze faltered for a moment, complex emotions swirling within, unreadable.
“You’ve changed so much,” she said, giving Luo Tangtang a profound look.
“Changed?” A flicker of bewilderment crossed Luo Tangtang’s face. What changed?
Yun Shayi didn’t answer. Her eyes merely grew deeper. She leaned in, her breath brushing Luo Tangtang’s neck, her voice laced with a mesmerizing quality, “This is a nice place, wouldn’t you say?”
“A nice place,” Luo Tangtang repeated, somewhat dazed. Her gaze swept stiffly around. It was a secluded, tranquil spot, with a clear spring flowing to one side.
“No, wait. What changed? Don’t change the subject,” Luo Tangtang snapped back to herself, her expression turning serious.
Yun Shayi seemed to falter for a second, then a slow smile spread across her lips. She laughed.
There was no trace of her usual coldness or aloofness; this was a genuine laugh, almost joyful. Her eyes sparkled, dazzlingly bright.
Luo Tangtang’s confusion, unease, and anxiety vanished in an instant. The world around them seemed to fall silent, as if they had entered an empty void, devoid of color and sound. Only the person before her remained.
Her smile was everything.
“Ahem.” Luo Tangtang brought a fist to her lips and coughed lightly a few times, her averted face flushing a pale pink.
Suddenly, Yun Shayi whispered something in Luo Tangtang’s ear.
“Ah?” Luo Tangtang froze for a moment, then it dawned on her. Her cheeks flushed crimson, and even her earlobes felt hot. She was shy, but she still nodded decisively.
For some reason, a restless heat had begun to spread through her from her core, making her feel agitated.
“Oh?” Yun Shayi seemed a little surprised by Luo Tangtang’s decisive agreement, and the smile on her face deepened.
She gently pulled Luo Tangtang into her embrace. Out of Luo Tangtang’s sight, Yun Shayi’s hand trembled, veins standing out starkly, looking somewhat fierce, somewhat terrifying.
Tangtang can’t see this, Yun Shayi thought, and her eyes darkened further.
Slowly, her trembling hand clenched into a fist. She wrapped her arms around Luo Tangtang’s waist, resting her chin on top of Luo Tangtang’s head.
Perhaps due to her ice spiritual root, Yun Shayi’s body temperature was always cool, like cold jade, even now that spring had arrived. Her skin was fair and lustrous, and she carried a faint, cool fragrance that was uniquely refreshing.
Luo Tangtang especially loved to bury her face in Yun Shayi’s neck, inhaling deeply.
Before long, their clothes were in disarray, scattered on the ground. Luo Tangtang’s lips were red and swollen from being bitten.
“Hiss.” Luo Tangtang suddenly blushed even deeper.
Yun Shayi’s hand slipped under the hem of her robes and then paused.
“Why don’t you try it yourself?” Yun Shayi’s voice sounded a moment later, laced with amusement.
But Luo Tangtang felt a hint of teasing malice in her tone, which made her flustered.
She turned her face away, refusing to look at Yun Shayi.
Then, Yun Shayi seemed to chuckle softly.
Luo Tangtang found herself flipped over, her body suspended in the air as Yun Shayi lifted her with a single arm.
Luo Tangtang instinctively wrapped her legs around Yun Shayi’s waist. Her body suddenly tensed, and her pupils contracted.
“Se… Senior Sister,” her voice cracked.
Yun Shayi’s hand didn’t move away, causing Luo Tangtang to curl up, her fingers clenching tightly as her body trembled minutely.
Yun Shayi slowly carried her into the spring pool. The water was so clear that Luo Tangtang could see her own submerged clothes when she looked down.
“If you don’t move, then I won’t either.”
“You—!” Luo Tangtang’s eyes were red. Helplessly, she wrapped her arms around Yun Shayi’s neck, gritting her teeth.
Yun Shayi’s eyes darkened. She pressed the back of Luo Tangtang’s head and kissed her fiercely.
Small cuts had appeared on Luo Tangtang’s already swollen lips from Yun Shayi’s bites.
She was like an insatiable beast, desperately clinging to the prey she had finally caught, refusing to let go.
“Mmph… Mmm…” Luo Tangtang couldn’t catch her breath and tried to push Yun Shayi away. But before she could do anything more, Yun Shayi had stripped her clothes completely.
Large expanses of her skin were exposed to the air, then enveloped by the water, making her shiver.
Suddenly, Yun Shayi moved. Luo Tangtang’s cat-like eyes instantly narrowed into slits. A tingling numbness spread from her tailbone, and the restless heat from before surged from her core throughout her entire body.
No… I can’t take it anymore. A flash of panic appeared in Luo Tangtang’s eyes.
Her tail… she couldn’t control it! It was about to pop out!
“No, stop!” Luo Tangtang shook her head desperately, trying to get Yun Shayi to stop. Her hands pushed uselessly against Yun Shayi, begging her to let go.
But Yun Shayi paid her no heed, her actions only growing more intense.
“Sob… please stop moving… my back hurts,” Luo Tangtang cried out, her voice choked with tears.
She stopped clinging to Yun Shayi’s neck and instead pressed her hands tightly against her rear, terrified her tail would pop out at any moment.
“[System, System, help me!]” Luo Tangtang wailed, pleading for the system.
But her mind remained silent. The system had long since gone offline.
It’s over. Luo Tangtang’s eyes widened. Pleasure mixed with the terror of imminent discovery, sending shockwaves through her mind.
Instantly, her body went limp. She lost consciousness and collapsed into Yun Shayi’s arms. A soft, fluffy tail emerged from behind her.
Yun Shayi huffed out a laugh. Her slender, fair fingers lightly pinched the tail. “So, it’s white fur.”
“You deserved a lesson.”
Then, as if remembering something, the look in Yun Shayi’s eyes as she gazed at the tail in her hand shifted.
“Ahhhhhhh!” A scream suddenly pierced the air.
Luo Tangtang shot upright.
“What’s wrong?” Someone pushed the door open and entered.
“I—!” Luo Tangtang quickly touched her face. Nothing wrong.
“Where’s Eldest Senior Sister?” Luo Tangtang looked around. It seemed she was inside a cloud-boat.
“Eldest Senior Sister went to settle the children,” replied the female disciple who had entered. She was also a direct disciple of an inner sect elder.
She walked to the table, poured Luo Tangtang a cup of warm tea, and handed it to her.
“Oh, I see.” Luo Tangtang breathed a sigh of relief. She probably didn’t find out. It’s fine, it’s fine.
“You and Eldest Senior Sister…” the female disciple said then, her tone somewhat suggestive.
Luo Tangtang snapped her head up to look at her.
The female cultivator quickly waved her hands, a shy expression on her face. “Eldest Senior Sister carried you back. You were wearing her clothes at the time.”
“Er…” Luo Tangtang felt awkward for a moment. Yun Shayi’s clothes were custom-made and very recognizable.
“And besides, both you and Eldest Senior Sister had… ” At this point, the female cultivator trailed off, embarrassed. Her eyes darted around, and her cheeks flushed red.
“I…”
“You don’t need to fool me; we all know,” the female cultivator said before Luo Tangtang could explain.
Her eyes sparkled. “Eldest Senior Sister is so cool and aloof, and you’re so sweet and adorable. You two are a perfect match!”
“Cough, cough!” Luo Tangtang, who had been about to take another sip of water to calm her nerves, was so startled by this that she nearly spat it out.
“I… listen to my explanation!”
Luo Tangtang reached out a hand, but the female cultivator just gave her an ‘I-know-everything’ look, shook her head, and left.
Leaving Luo Tangtang looking as if she’d been struck by lightning.
“[Heh, disgraceful,]” the system chimed in.
“[What good are you showing up now?]” Luo Tangtang instantly bristled, her embarrassment turning into anger.
“[Did you want me to watch a live broadcast of you and Yun Shayi?]” the system retorted sarcastically.
Luo Tangtang was speechless with anger.
“[Do you have any idea I almost couldn’t hide my tail?]”
After a long pause, she added, still feeling a lingering fear at the thought, “[What exactly happened back there?]”
“[A mating call, perhaps,]” the system stated coldly.
Then, its voice laced with a hint of gloating, it added, “[After all, winter is gone, and spring has arrived.]”
Luo Tangtang: “…”
Why did life suddenly feel so hopeless?
