Running Off With The Sect Senior Sister Chapter 12

Vine Monster

“What are you doing? Hurry up and put your tail away!” The system’s slightly frantic crackling electric voice echoed on the quiet, deserted path.

“Has spring arrived that you’re going into heat too?!” The system rambled incoherently, terrified that it was about to witness a Luo Tangtang who had completely lost reason.

Luo Tangtang’s appearance had changed drastically. Her originally jet-black hair had turned silver, her round pupils were now a light gold, and even stranger were the pair of small, pointed cat ears standing upright on her head.

“This… what do I do?!” Luo Tangtang was on the verge of collapse too. Had she become a spirit beast and still couldn’t escape biological instinct?

She clutched at her ears, her tail flicking back and forth unconsciously. Luo Tangtang reached out to grab her tail.

System: “…” I feel like everything should be fine.

“Are you feeling hot all over right now?” the system asked.

Luo Tangtang shook her head honestly. “Not hot!”

“Is your face red, and your heart beating faster?”

Luo Tangtang shook her head again, but her hands weren’t idle, continuing to play with her tail.

“Stop playing!” The system was speechless. It felt like Luo Tangtang wasn’t in heat; she was just acting stupid.

“Try to change back. We’re currently in the territory of the Supreme Immortal Sect. If someone discovers you like this, it won’t be good.”

“Okay, okay!” Luo Tangtang stopped playing immediately, closed her eyes in a panic, wanting to return to her original body.

A moment later.

“This won’t do!” Luo Tangtang was truly panicked now. She looked at her fingers, which had grown pointed nails, and felt a little flustered.

“Uh, how many days does a feline heat cycle last?”

“I’m all alone, why must I endure this?”

“Life is unfair!”

The system watched Luo Tangtang’s tragic expression, muttering curses, when it suddenly felt a chilling presence approach. It instantly sensed something was wrong and was just about to speak a warning when a long, black shape attacked.

“Ah—!” The scream caught in her throat. Luo Tangtang felt something wrap around her ankle. A wave of weightlessness hit her, and she was brutally dragged down.

“Mmph! Mmph!” Luo Tangtang struggled fiercely. Unknown vines were wrapped tightly around her body, preventing her from breaking free in the slightest. She whimpered.

“System, why can’t I speak? What are you doing?” Luo Tangtang rushed into her sea of consciousness, furious, to question the system.

The system’s voice carried a hint of helplessness. “If you made a sound looking like this, and it really attracted people, who knows who they’d come to eliminate.”

“Relax!” The system continued to comfort her. “With me here, you won’t lose your life. If the mission fails, then I can’t protect you.”

“No!” Luo Tangtang had a bitter expression. “I just wanted to ask why this vine has to drag me on the ground.”

Luo Tangtang felt like a rag, the kind used for wiping the floor.

The vine was wrapped with skill. Luo Tangtang was sideways, her back facing it, so she couldn’t see what the other party looked like, and one side of her head was still scraping the ground.

Occasionally, there was a stone or uneven ground, and she would get bumped and scraped. By the time they were done, her head couldn’t avoid being injured.

She couldn’t rely on others; she could only save herself.

Luo Tangtang’s round eyes darted around. There were many unknown small mountains near the Supreme Immortal Sect. This was clearly one of them.

The ground was covered in a thick layer of fallen leaves, a sign that few people ever came here. Luo Tangtang kept observing as she was dragged along.

After who knows how long, a cold wind struck from behind. Luo Tangtang was violently flung onto a rock at the side.

Luo Tangtang’s vision almost went black. The pain stimulated her divine sense, making it tremble.

“Heh heh heh!” A strange, eerie laugh sounded. Luo Tangtang didn’t know why, but she could hear schadenfreude within it.

Luo Tangtang stared blankly, then with difficulty, patted her own face. Wake up, you transmigrated into a book. At most, you count as an animal, not a plant.

In front of her was a large, dark mass like seaweed, writhing chaotically. Extended tentacles periodically touched Luo Tangtang.

The slimy, damp touch instantly gave Luo Tangtang goosebumps. She recoiled with some disgust.

“Woo woo woo!” The vine monster let out a roaring sound.

“Are you angry?” Luo Tangtang looked in disbelief at the vine monster with its flying tentacles before her.

“?” Luo Tangtang was slightly surprised. I can talk!

Swish!

Hearing Luo Tangtang’s words, several tentacles attacked rapidly. Seeing this, Luo Tangtang immediately turned decisively and took to her heels.

Alas, she was a step too slow. The dark tentacles wrapped around her quickly, soon completely enveloping Luo Tangtang.

As if to vent its anger, Luo Tangtang watched helplessly as the octopus-like thing just like that—smeared itself all over her face.

“Heh heh heh heh!” Luo Tangtang’s expression, as if struck by lightning, seemed to please the vine monster, so it smeared harder.

“System, quickly help!”

The words in her mind had just fallen when a tentacle was severed. A long sword appeared in Luo Tangtang’s hand.

“Solve it yourself!” The system was extremely concise this time.

Luo Tangtang clenched her teeth and turned her sword towards the attacking tentacles.

Black liquid instantly sprayed from its wounds. The seaweed monster seemed even angrier, revealing a pair of scarlet eyes hidden beneath its skin, filled with undisguised killing intent and greed.

Luo Tangtang frowned. The way this monster looked at her was like it had seen delicious food, ready to be torn apart and devoured.

“Tangtang, be careful. Its killing intent is very heavy.”

“Got it,” Luo Tangtang said, dodging the opponent’s attack with great agility in her movement technique.

“I… I want to eat you!”

The vine monster made a gurgling sound. Its attacks became more frantic. The surroundings were originally a vast empty land, so she did have space to move, but it was the vine monster’s territory after all, and Luo Tangtang didn’t really have the advantage.

How could there be a demon beast with such high cultivation in the heartland of an immortal sect? Luo Tangtang felt like she was about to vomit blood.

As if guessing Luo Tangtang’s thoughts, the system said coldly and mercilessly, “There’s also you, a demon race spy, in the heartland of an immortal sect!”

Luo Tangtang: “…”

“If you’re not helping, shut up.”

The system immediately fell silent.

Swish! A sound cutting through the air came. Red, bloody mist filled her vision. She could only hear rustling sounds.

She immediately pricked up her ears. That’s it!

Luo Tangtang leaped up, raised the sword in her hand, and decisively stabbed forward into the space in front of her.

Splash! The mist dispersed, and an awful smell assaulted her. Luo Tangtang frowned, looking at a pool of black water on the ground, with some animal hair and bones inside.

“System, what is this?”

“Not clear. But the system detected that this vine monster and this vicinity both seem to have things similar to the original host’s origin.”

Hearing this, Luo Tangtang frowned even harder. She raised her gaze to look at the completely black valley ahead, her fingers gradually tightening.
