I Find Her Disgusting Chapter 11

Chapter 11

Yan Huirou didn’t have many belongings, so it didn’t take long to pack.
She followed Wen Xianyin through the vast red maple forest. As they made their way to the main hall, the two of them did not speak again.
Yan Huirou let her gaze wander over the beautiful scenery around them.
Washed by the rain, the red maples appeared even more vibrant, their color as rich as the full-bodied kindness of autumn. They fanned out in the wind, each a five-lobed petal, every tip pointing proudly forward.
It was beautiful.
Yan Huirou unconsciously thought of that rainy day when she had walked this way and seen the red-robed beauty holding an umbrella in the forest.
The same captivating and deadly beauty. It suits her well.
“This is a place the Sect Master often visits.”
Wen Xianyin suddenly spoke.
Yan Huirou nodded, not understanding why she had brought it up. She said sincerely, “It’s very pretty.”
“But I’m very curious. The entire Shasheng Sect is clearly suspended in the air. How can there be enough soil here to nurture such a large grove of red maples?”
Wen Xianyin explained, “It is indeed suspended between two mountains. The soil beneath this maple forest was chosen for its fertility and moved here from afar. The difficulty was no less than splitting mountains and filling seas. An ordinary person certainly couldn’t do it, but for the Sect Master…”
As she spoke, a trace of reverence flashed in the senior disciple’s eyes. “She is already one of the top cultivators in the cultivation world. She roams the world, and no one dares to claim to be her equal. So, it was no great feat for her.”
Yan Huirou was lost in thought.
And the maple forest was far from the only expensive thing in the Shasheng Sect. On the entire immortal ship floating in the clouds, even the most remote corners were only slightly simpler. The closer one got to the main hall, the more exquisite and luxurious the surrounding scenery became.
As she rounded the small path behind the main hall, Yan Huirou looked down. The stone steps were no longer stone but made entirely of white jade, as fine as mutton fat, making one hesitate to step on them.
“Bright Moon Pavilion?”
“Yes, we’re here.”
Yan Huirou pushed the door open. The place was spacious, bright, and elegant. Like the area in front of the main hall, it was planted with osmanthus trees, their branches neatly trimmed. A gentle, delicate fragrance filled her nose. There even seemed to be a hot spring in the courtyard, with steam rising from it.
She stood stunned for a moment.
Wen Xianyin said, “I hope Miss Yan likes it. I’ve also assigned a miscellaneous disciple to take care of your daily needs. Bi Luo?”
A young girl in green robes walked out from the courtyard. She didn’t look very old, perhaps only fourteen or fifteen, with a round chin and eyes like watery apricots.
Upon seeing Yan Huirou, Bi Luo’s eyes crinkled into a smile. She called out obediently, “Hello, Miss Yan.”
Yan Huirou snapped back to reality, feeling that this whole scene was a bit strange. It was like… a concubine just released from the Cold Palace, soaring to the heavens after regaining the Emperor’s favor.
Wen Xianyin had followed the Sect Master’s orders and even arranged for someone to take care of her in advance. This didn’t seem like a whim of kindness.
So, my moving here—was it Jiang Xidai’s idea?
After Wen Xianyin left, Bi Luo came forward and untied the cloak draped over her shoulders. “I’ve long heard of Miss Yan’s great name. The Sect Master was angry today, yet she couldn’t bear to punish you severely. What a rare thing.”
Yan Huirou asked, “Where does your Sect Master live?”
“What a coincidence,” Bi Luo winked at her. “Not far from here. She’s usually in Qionghua Hall. If you look towards the back garden from there, you can see Bright Moon Pavilion at a glance.”
Just as Yan Huirou was about to speak, she stood in the courtyard and looked forward.
Her gaze passed through the sparse osmanthus branches in the courtyard, traveling far into the distance, right to the window of the vermilion main hall.
The window there was open, revealing a figure in profile. Black hair pressed against a red robe, a contrast that highlighted her beauty. A lock of dark hair was lifted, and the woman held a jade comb in her hand, smoothing it out.
Jiang Xidai combed her hair with concentration, her eyelashes slightly curled, making her appear less imposing and more endearingly earnest.
It really isn’t far.
“This is the first time Bi Luo has been to such a grand place… Miss Yan, do you like it here? Shall I help you take your luggage inside?” The young girl’s voice couldn’t hide her excitement. Without Wen Xianyin to keep her in check, she was about to fly off the handle.
Yan Huirou smiled faintly, her gaze not moving from the red-robed beauty in the pavilion window.
She actually quite liked this courtyard.
She raised a finger to her lips. “Shh.” If they were any louder, their Sect Master might notice.
Bi Luo looked at her quizzically, then followed her gaze. She searched for a moment, and her eyes finally landed on a certain spot. She jumped in surprise and quickly covered her mouth.
“You really can see the Sect Master right away—”
A gasp of amazement escaped through her fingers, her voice changing pitch.
With a clang, something heavy fell onto the floor.
Yan Huirou watched as the comb in Jiang Xidai’s hand dropped. Her arm was resting on the windowsill, and when she turned her head, her gaze met hers.
The beautiful woman’s brow furrowed slightly as she scanned her up and down.
Her upward glance was proud, her downward glance was cold, as if she were wondering why Yan Huirou was here.
Yan Huirou calmly accepted her scrutiny and offered a friendly, curved-eye smile.
Jiang Xidai released the lock of hair wrapped around her fingers and shut the window with a snap.
Yan Huirou raised an eyebrow, her expression slightly innocent.
“Phew.” Bi Luo shivered beside her. “Why do I feel like the Sect Master’s gaze is so chilly?”
“It’s surprisingly kind of cute.”
Bi Luo was startled.
She saw Miss Yan cover her lips, her eyes crinkling in a smile. “Sorry. I just think your Sect Master is like a little cat whose grooming has been disturbed.”
“…Huh?” Bi Luo was utterly astonished.
She understood every word Miss Yan said, but when put together, they sounded rather terrifying.
Bi Luo glanced at the window, thinking worriedly, The Sect Master didn’t hear that, did she?
Jiang Xidai closed the window. She figured Wen Xianyin had been meddling again. She must have misunderstood something to have moved Yan Huirou so close.
Her knees were still aching faintly, like an old ailment from the cold that had accumulated for eight hundred years. She didn’t know if the bruises would heal on their own, or if they would only get better when Yan Huirou’s did.
But Sect Master Jiang had no one to blame for her resentment; she could only swallow it and digest it herself.
After all, she was the one who had punished Yan Huirou.
The only good thing that had happened these days was that the bottleneck that had held her back for years had loosened—thanks to the system.
Jiang Xidai leaned against the window and began to ponder the chattering thing in her mind.
The system.
Its origins were unknown. She couldn’t get rid of it, so she could only try to follow its words to verify them. But the system’s power seemed unfathomable.
Cultivation was an act of defying the heavens, yet the system could bypass the eyes of the Heavenly Dao and openly transfer cultivation power to her, allowing her to easily overcome her bottleneck.
This meant its status was above the Heavenly Dao. It was something Jiang Xidai could not interfere with.
As for all its nonsense, constantly rambling about “female lead” and “novel,” Jiang Xidai had struggled to understand it these past few days. She roughly understood it to be something like the legendary “Celestial Book,” which allowed one to see the end of everyone’s destiny through the system’s eyes.
Jiang Xidai took note of this revelation, but she didn’t find it particularly hard to accept or fear.
She had faced countless threats in her life; this was just one more.
Now that she knew of the threat, it also signaled the beginning of an opportunity. Who would be the final winner was not yet certain.
For example—
Jiang Xidai held the string of the Universe Pouch in her hand, silently pulling it into her palm.
This magic artifact had been washed and even re-tempered by the disciples below.
But even with some of the dust washed away, it still looked ordinary. The effects mentioned by the “system” had not manifested.
“How do I use it?”
A buzzing sound came from the voice in her head.
Host, this is the male lead’s special advantage.
Still not quite understanding what a “special advantage” was, Jiang Xidai pondered for a moment. Then she got up and descended from the loft of Qionghua Hall.
The underside of the Shasheng Sect was not hollow, nor was it entirely solid.
In a stone chamber, the dim candlelight elongated the visitor’s shadow.
The disciples guarding on both sides bowed slightly. “Sect Master.”
“How is that boy? Still alive?”
Jiang Xidai stood with her hands behind her back, her fingertips toying with the string of the Universe Pouch.
“Reporting to the Sect Master, he is still alive,” a disciple answered. “Senior Sister Wen imprisoned him here and gave no further instructions.”
Is that so?
It would be so much better if he were dead, but I’d probably just have to go back in time again.
Jiang Xidai said nothing and walked deeper into the stone chamber.
After all, she had already tried the method of ordering others to kill on Yan Huirou, and it hadn’t worked.
Besides, there was a system holding her back.
Her footsteps echoed in the cold, underground stone chamber, empty and adding to the chilly, grim atmosphere.
In a cell, in a corner, Li Xinghe was curled up in a ball. The excessive blood loss had made his face pale. It was quiet all around; he could only hear footsteps approaching, along with his own weak breathing.
The footsteps were unhurried, getting closer and closer, then stopping at a certain distance.
“Your Lanyue Pavilion’s lord really does pick up any kind of trash.”
The voice was faint.
Li Xinghe’s heart jolted. He became a little more alert and looked up abruptly.
A dark red figure stood silently in the darkness.
The woman watched his jumpy reaction and smiled faintly. This smile made Li Xinghe’s blood run cold. He unconsciously thought of his ordeal during the day, and his whole body began to tremble uncontrollably again.
“Alright. Boy.”
Jiang Xidai raised her hand. Her palm loosened slightly, and the Universe Pouch fell, landing right in front of Li Xinghe’s eyes.
“What is the use of this magic artifact? Tell me, every last detail.”
“…” Li Xinghe gritted his teeth, his gaze fixed on the treasure his benefactor had left him—so easily taken by another. But what could he do? The most he could do was remain silent.
“Can’t speak?”
“Men.”
“Yes, Sect Master.” A few disciples gathered around.
“Pull out his tongue.” Jiang Xidai lowered her head to carefully examine the Universe Pouch in her hand, speaking as if it were nothing. “Then feed it to him. It’ll be nutritious.”
The disciples exchanged a look, answered “Yes,” and one of them respectfully walked around the Sect Master to open the cell door.
Li Xinghe sprang up, crashing against the cell door, only to be pressed to the ground by the disciples who followed.
“…I’ll talk, I…”
Jiang Xidai’s gaze moved from her hand, lazily sweeping over his terrified face. She waved a hand. “Wait.”
The disciples froze.
“Speak.”
“My master said—my master said,” Li Xinghe forced himself to say through his hatred, word by word, “the Universe Pouch is nourished with heart’s blood. It contains all things and is a secret, separate world.”
“Is that true?”
“It is.” Li Xinghe swallowed. “But it has already accepted my blood, so it can no longer be used by you… You might as well, you might as well give it back to me…”
“Is that so.”
Jiang Xidai was noncommittal. She casually tossed the pouch to the ground.
A flicker of joy sparked in Li Xinghe’s heart.
He never expected that in the next moment, she would step on the “Universe Pouch,” grinding it under the sole of her shoe.
The Universe Pouch was, after all, just an object. Under Jiang Xidai’s exceptionally powerful and terrifying cultivation, it shattered, turning into a pile of fine dust.
The woman withdrew her foot without a trace of sentimentality. “It’s mine now, and in any case, not yours.”
“If I can’t use it, I might as well destroy it.”
After confirming that the thing had truly turned into a pile of dust, Jiang Xidai’s expression improved slightly. This time, there was a hint of sincerity in her smile.
At least from this step, the path of fate has already begun to change.
Which means, nothing is unchangeable.
“You!” Li Xinghe glared at her angrily.
“You few, hmm?” Jiang Xidai glanced at the disciples. “I’m done here. Continue with him—”
The young man pinned to the ground struggled, but he was no match for the agile disciples of the Shasheng Sect. When the cold tip of the blade was about to touch his mouth again, Li Xinghe could no longer bear it and cried out in despair, “…Help!”
Suddenly, there was a sound, and a disciple ran over to report, “Sect Master, Miss Yan is here.”
Before she could react, Yan Huirou had already walked in, bathed in light. She looked around, her gaze lingering on the neatly repaired stone walls of the Shasheng Sect’s dungeon. She even reached out to touch the cold, hard wall.
She sensed a cold, dark gaze on her from the side.
Miss Yan’s attention finally left the wall. She subconsciously turned her head and saw Jiang Xidai at a glance.
She seemed completely oblivious to how strange Jiang Xidai’s expression was. She smiled apologetically, even with a hint of surprise. “Sect Master Jiang? To think I’d run into you just by wandering around.”
Host’s emotional fluctuation detected.
“…Wandering around?”
Jiang Xidai smiled faintly.
What kind of place is the Shasheng Sect? The greatest den of demons in the world. Ordinary people, when captured and brought here, are mostly like dying fish struggling on the shore, scared out of their wits in no time.
Yet this little girl before me seems to be treating this place like her own backyard, having eaten and drunk well enough to put on some weight.
And now she even has the guts to stroll into my dungeon.
Yan Huirou’s apology deepened. She gently twisted her sleeve. “Um… sorry, I’m not very familiar with the layout of the Shasheng Sect.”
As she spoke, she raised her sleeve again and discreetly rubbed her chin, as if she were a little embarrassed. “I was afraid of getting lost. So I was following you. In that sense, it wasn’t entirely just wandering, was it?”
Jiang Xidai had just been thinking that she was so naive she was simple-minded. But her gaze fell on Li Xinghe, who was pressed to the ground. The boy was trembling slightly and gave Yan Huirou a grateful look.
Jiang Xidai thought carefully about what the “system” had said and connected it with Yan Huirou’s previous actions. She finally had some ideas.
How could it be such a coincidence? The moment Yan Huirou arrived, she just happened to distract me, saving that boy from the fire. Could it have been intentional?
Having figured it out, Sect Master Jiang suddenly felt enlightened, though she inwardly sneered at the thought. So there really is true love in this world. What a pair of ill-fated lovers.
Some people are just like that. Clearly mediocre, but inexplicably favored by the heavens. In her opinion, that boy named Li Xinghe was just like that. Born with a loving benefactor, he came with a Universe Pouch; he was the sole survivor of his sect’s massacre, then luckily entered Lanyue Pavilion to cultivate. And the kind and beautiful woman he met was so caring from their very first few meetings.
But now that she knew the path ahead, one day, she would circumvent fate and eliminate both Yan Huirou and Li Xinghe, ending this problem for good.
Jiang Xidai found Li Xinghe more and more displeasing to the eye, and by extension, she found Yan Huirou more displeasing as well. They were like two poisonous tumors, utterly revolting. Her gaze lingered on the “female lead’s” face, staying there for a long time.
“Sect Master… why are you staring at me?” Yan Huirou met her gaze gently for a moment before quickly lowering her head.
So she really does have a guilty conscience.
How boring.
Jiang Xidai’s eyelashes drooped slightly as she sneered inwardly.
“Trespassing in a forbidden area. Go back to the front of the hall and kneel.”
Beep! Female Lead Favorability +1
The sharp sound rang out abruptly in her mind. Jiang Xidai, who had just started to walk, paused. She glanced at Yan Huirou in surprise.
Yan Huirou lowered her head even further and said softly, “I was wrong.”
Looking closely, Yan Huirou’s cheeks were, for some reason, slightly flushed. Jiang Xidai suspected she was seeing things, but soon, the girl turned and walked out, her steps seeming a bit rushed.
