An Encounter with the Tsundere Immortal Lady Chapter 53

The History of the Immortal Realm

The gate in the void had completely disappeared. The Immortal Realm returned to its millennia-unchanging azure sky. A gentle breeze blew, and the air was still as fresh as ever. But the state of mind of everyone present was no longer the same.
The gate’s closure signified that Yu Huang’s repair of the Xuantian Secret Realm had entered its final stage. Once the forty-eight unique treasures and the Qingluan sword were embedded into the forty-nine pillars of the formation, the formation would fully activate. At that time, Yu Huang, sitting on the platform in the very center, would offer all her true energy, spirit, and even her life to the formation as its power source. Only then could the shattered spatial laws be mended. The passage between the Immortal Realm and the Cultivation Realm would reopen, the space of the Immortal Realm would also return to normal, and cultivators who had already achieved abstinence from grains would no longer be able to consume them.
And the price to restore all this was everything Yu Huang had, including her cultivation and her very life.
Fortune and misfortune are intertwined. Since childhood, Yu Huang possessed heaven-defying luck, extraordinary talent, and everything that everyone in the Immortal and Cultivation Realms could only dream of, even if they gave their all. She seemed like a favored child of destiny, a darling of the heavens. Indeed, she was truly the one chosen by the heavens. But the price she had to pay for it was something no one could ever imagine.
Being alive, the greatest happiness is not knowing when one will die. So one can enjoy life to the fullest, and strive with all one’s might. But if someone knew from birth where they would die, why they would die, and when they would die, and if even their entire purpose in living was for that death, how cruel a fate would that be?
Yu Huang was the luckiest chosen of the heavens, but also the most unfortunate person under them.
But there are always exceptions to every rule. Even the seemingly all-powerful heavens have exceptions, and Lin Wuxi was this exception. Lin Wuxi was supposed to die. It’s unknown whether this was her original destiny, or if the heavens, sensing her danger, deliberately arranged it. In short, since Lin Wuxi’s birth, her fate was described by two words: “should die.”
But fortunately, she luckily survived her infancy. I want to live, she thought. When she was very, very young, she vaguely sensed the thread called ‘death’ that constantly coiled around her. That’s why she wanted to live, desperately to live. She endured suffering unimaginable to ordinary people, battling the god of death countless times. Only then, finally, did she survive. She, who should have long turned into a pile of bones, was able to stand here, alive and well.
For Lin Wuxi to meet Yu Huang, it had to be said it was her good fortune. It was because of that encounter when she was still an infant that she could cultivate techniques and step into the Cultivation Realm. It was also because of Yu Huang that she had the chance to obtain the Purple Lotus that shouldn’t have been hers, thereby suppressing the increasingly ferocious inner demon that could instantly claim her life. Lin Wuxi being alive was truly all thanks to her Senior Sister.
And for Yu Huang to meet Lin Wuxi, it was undoubtedly even greater fortune for her. In her smooth, predetermined destiny, a wonderful accident like Lin Wuxi appeared. This allowed her life to have precious memories that truly belonged to her. For her, who had been forced to calmly walk towards death since birth, this was undoubtedly more precious than all the treasures she had obtained in her entire life. Lin Wuxi, for her, was truly the most beautiful encounter.
But Yu Huang’s fortune in meeting Lin Wuxi did not end there. When the gate in the sky opened once more, when that figure reappeared in mid-air, when the figure in mid-air fell straight down from the sky, when a figure in green caught the falling her—when all this happened, even heaven and earth trembled for it. This represented that one of the toughest threads of fate between heaven and earth had snapped.
The surrounding crowd immediately erupted; they cheered. They didn’t care what this represented; they only knew that their Immortal Emperor Siyin, the one they had always respected, had returned.
When Yu Huang embedded the forty-eight unique treasures and the Qingluan sword into the pillars, when she sat on the central platform, when she offered all her cultivation to operate the formation in the Xuantian Secret Realm, Yu Huang did not submit to her predetermined destiny; she did not sacrifice her life to the formation. She preserved her own life, and also preserved the Immortal Realm’s final, flawed spatial law. Food would not disappear from the Immortal Realm.
“Wuxi, I can finally see you again. This is wonderful.” Her weakened Senior Sister lay in Lin Wuxi’s arms, looking at the tear-streaked, joyous face before her. Feeling the warmth transmitted from that embrace, the corners of her lips curved into a slight smile. “This time,” she truly admitted, “I am lucky.”
“Senior Sister, being able to see you… it’s wonderful for me too.” Lin Wuxi hugged the person in her arms tightly, feeling the real warmth from her body. It doesn’t matter how, she thought, as long as Senior Sister is still by my side.
After several thousand years, the Xuantian Secret Realm opened once more. The connection between the Immortal Realm and the Cultivation Realm was re-established. However, the shattered spatial laws were not completely mended. Immortals still needed to consume grains to live. In exchange for this outcome, Yu Huang’s life was spared.
Several years later, Immortal Emperor Siyin led the Nine Heavens Immortal Palace to modify the sealing method for the ‘Demon’ that was sealed in the sea of the Cultivation Realm. Although its physical body was still sealed, it could now travel freely to the Immortal Realm. After this, Immortal Emperor Siyin established the ‘Purple Pavilion’ within the Immortal Palace. The ‘Purple Pavilion’ consisted of thirty members selected from within the Nine Heavens Immortal Palace to manage the various minor affairs of the Immortal Realm through the Immortal Palace. The ‘Purple Pavilion’ was supervised by an organization called the ‘Ancestor Yuan Court’. The two would check and balance each other, and promote mutual progress, thereby managing the entire Immortal Realm.
Following this, Immortal Emperor Siyin, despite everyone’s opposition, insisted on resigning from the position of Immortal Emperor. She left with a woman in green, and no one could ever find a trace of them again.
To commemorate Immortal Emperor Siyin’s contributions, a giant statue was erected in the center of the Nine Heavens Immortal Palace’s plaza in memory of this brilliantly talented young Immortal Emperor.
Meanwhile, Yu Huang, after resigning as Immortal Emperor, took Lin Wuxi’s hand and left the Nine Heavens Immortal Palace. Along the way, Yu Huang smiled and asked: “Now I am just a mere mortal. I wonder if this immortal lady is willing to protect me thoroughly, use her immortal arts, and take me to eat all the delicacies of the Immortal Realm?”
“Okay.” Lin Wuxi replied with only one word, but her eyes curved as she smiled.
(The End)
Author’s note: As of today, this novel is finally, officially finished. From when I first opened a Word document until now, although it’s only a novel of a hundred thousand or so characters, as my first full-length novel, I truly poured a lot of heart and effort into it. Before writing it, I really couldn’t believe I would actually be able to finish such a long novel. But thankfully, I persisted, and the story in my heart has been told. Looking back, I truly feel a great sense of accomplishment. These words I’m writing today, if I read them again in ten years, I’ll probably be able to recall my current state of mind. What a wonderful thing that is. Here, I also want to thank everyone who accompanied me through this journey, thank you for your support, and thank you for liking my story. I’m truly grateful. If there’s a chance, let’s meet again in the next story.

Good chapter 😌

I honestly didn’t think this story was bad. I however, did feel that it was exceptionally rushed. It had not nearly enough exposition about the world building. Especially when considering the exceptionally rushed romance of the MC and FL.

All in all, I found it rather lovely albeit super rushed and confusing. 5.3/10
