An Encounter with the Tsundere Immortal Lady Chapter 27

Chapter 27: Stirring Waves

The three of them traveled swiftly. Before long, they had flown past the coastline and were heading directly out over the South Sea.
Seeing that Chen Yuan showed no intention of returning to the Haoyue Sect, Yu Huang casually asked, “Sect Master Chen, aren’t you bringing more disciples to the secret realm in the sea?”
Chen Yuan chuckled. “No need. They are already waiting there. If you’ll just follow me, Fairy.”
Lin Wuxi discreetly sent a voice transmission to Yu Huang: “I don’t know why, but I have a rather uneasy feeling. Don’t stray too far from me later.”
“It’s alright.” Yu Huang gave Lin Wuxi a reassuring glance, her gaze fixed ahead as if she were observing something.
The three of them flew out over the sea. After flying over the waters for a short period, Chen Yuan finally said, “Alright, this is the place. Let’s head down.”
Lin Wuxi nodded, took out the water-repelling beads they had prepared earlier, put away her Qingyu Brush, and, bringing Yu Huang along, dived into the depths of the sea.
Chen Yuan watched the two descend. After a moment, he followed them down, leading the way in front.
They dived continuously. The sea changed from light blue to deep blue, and finally became as dark as ink. Ordinary people would have long since perished from the sea’s crushing pressure, but cultivators would not. With their spiritual energy flowing, they could naturally offset this immense force.
Lin Wuxi had already quietly taken Yu Huang’s hand, transferring her spiritual energy to help her resist the sea’s pressure.
Chen Yuan took out a night-luminous pearl. In this deep sea, there was no outside light, and one’s eyes could no longer see anything. Although cultivators had spiritual sense to clearly perceive their surroundings, many still preferred to use night-luminous pearls for light in the sea. It seemed Chen Yuan also had this habit.
“Alright, we’re almost there. Follow me closely.” Chen Yuan seemed a bit excited and sped up.
Lin Wuxi had already sensed the auras of cultivators ahead with her spiritual sense. Dozens of Haoyue Sect members were gathered there, as if waiting for something.
When Lin Wuxi arrived, she was stunned by a very grand gate in the deep sea. In the dark ocean, a huge, ancient gate stood tall. It seemed to separate the mortal world from the cultivation world, as if it had nothing to do with the fights and noise of the outside world. It was so quiet and special.
“Everyone’s here. Let’s go in,” Chen Yuan said.
This was just a small secret realm, not at all comparable to the Xuantian Secret Realm. Entering it was like any other small secret realm; although there were no amazing sights, there were many precious materials that were usually hard to find.
Easily getting past the restrictions and traps in the secret realm, Lin Wuxi discovered that there really were blue pearls here. After telling Sect Master Chen, Lin Wuxi collected the blue pearls. She then followed the other Haoyue Sect members deeper in, but she didn’t take anything else from the secret realm. She had come just for these blue pearls; everything else, by right and reason, should belong to the Haoyue Sect.
But as they walked, Lin Wuxi noticed that the Haoyue Sect members had unknowingly surrounded them. Stopping, Lin Wuxi asked Chen Yuan, “I wonder what Sect Master means by this?”
Chen Yuan raised his hand, signaling the Haoyue Sect members to stop. He looked at Yu Huang with a grin and asked, “I wonder how The Boundless Fairy’s injuries are now?”
“Why does Sect Master ask such a question?” Yu Huang didn’t answer directly but questioned him back.
“Ever since you arrived in Haoyue City, I’ve been watching you. Until now, you’ve never flown on your sword yourself. Even in this deep sea, you relied on this Fusion Realm junior next to you for help. In my opinion, could it be that The Boundless Fairy has a problem?” Chen Yuan said, looking quite pleased with himself.
“It seems Sect Master is quite concerned about me. This is my private matter; I wouldn’t want to trouble Sect Master with it,” Yu Huang replied coolly.
“Hmph!” Chen Yuan snorted angrily. “Things have come to this, and you still dare to say such things! Even if you were perfectly fine, don’t even think about leaving this sea today. Everyone, attack them!” Following Chen Yuan’s call, hundreds of cultivators appeared densely around the secret realm’s entrance, surrounding it completely.
“The Wan Hen Sect and the Haoyue Sect have never had any big grudges. Why do you insist on harming us?” Yu Huang truly didn’t understand. She had thought about it for a long time but still couldn’t figure out the Haoyue Sect’s reason for this.
“You should ask your Sect Master Song Qingde about that. But you won’t have the chance to know anymore.” After saying this, Chen Yuan raised his hand, and everyone in the secret realm rushed towards Yu Huang and Lin Wuxi.
“Wait a moment.” Danger was very near, but then a clear, cold voice sounded out. Along with the hum of the Qingluan sword’s scabbard, Yu Huang said, “I wonder if Sect Master Chen dares to have a match with me and my junior sister?”
“Oh?” Chen Yuan sneered. “Even if I know you’re stalling for time, I’d still like to see how a Golden Core cultivator who has lost her spiritual energy and a young girl who has just reached the early Fusion Realm plan to compete against a Sect Master like me, who entered the Aperture Opening Realm hundreds of years ago.”
Yu Huang secretly sent a voice message to Lin Wuxi: “Later, I’ll use the Qingluan sword to block his attacks. You try your best to lead him towards the secret realm’s entrance.”
“Okay,” Lin Wuxi replied. At the same time, she made her Qingyu Brush several times bigger so Yu Huang could move and dodge on it.
Lin Wuxi flew on her brush towards Chen Yuan, while secretly preparing a few talisman papers in her palm. They weren’t very powerful, but their strength was in being unexpected, and they might be useful.
Chen Yuan arrived in an instant. He didn’t summon a weapon but instead chopped down with his palm towards Lin Wuxi, who was focused on controlling her brush. He wasn’t entirely sure about Yu Huang’s condition, but attacking Lin Wuxi, who was carrying Yu Huang, first couldn’t be wrong.
Lin Wuxi made a sharp turn but still couldn’t completely avoid Chen Yuan’s palm strike. A palm attack from an Aperture Opening Realm cultivator, carrying powerful spiritual energy, flew towards Lin Wuxi. If Lin Wuxi was even touched by it, she would die on the spot!
But Lin Wuxi didn’t even glance at Chen Yuan attacking her. Instead, she was busy in her mind, calculating her flight path and figuring out how to lead Chen Yuan towards the secret realm’s entrance.
Just as Chen Yuan was about to hit Lin Wuxi, his attack was blocked by a shining sword – it was Yu Huang’s Qingluan sword.
Although she blocked the blow, Yu Huang was pushed back several steps, spitting blood.
Chen Yuan sneered, “Is this all you can do? Be careful, or I might accidentally kill you with my attacks.” As he spoke, his attacks didn’t stop; instead, he moved closer and closer to Lin Wuxi.
Activating the Qingyu Brush’s defensive formation, Lin Wuxi focused even more on dealing with Chen Yuan. She was flying on her artifact in mid-air while also using a defensive formation that used up a lot of spiritual energy. If she couldn’t lead Chen Yuan to the secret realm’s entrance soon, she and her senior sister might truly die under Chen Yuan’s palm with one careless mistake.
Dodging Chen Yuan’s palm strike, Lin Wuxi slapped an explosive talisman on him. Chen Yuan hadn’t expected Lin Wuxi to have such a trick and was hit right on. A burst of explosion followed, leaving him covered in dust and dirt in mid-air.
“Sect Master has such great cultivation!” Lin Wuxi said sarcastically.
“You brat!” Being mocked by Lin Wuxi in front of so many subordinates, and feeling embarrassed from before, Chen Yuan could no longer care about anything else. He summoned his flying sword – the Black Spring Sword – put his spiritual energy into it, and charged fiercely towards Lin Wuxi and Yu Huang.
The Black Spring Sword was an immortal sword, almost as good as the Qingluan sword. Now, used with full power by an Aperture Opening Realm cultivator, it was clear Chen Yuan was determined to capture them.
The Black Spring Sword shone with a bright light, mixed with a cold feeling from its sword power, as it shot straight towards Lin Wuxi.
‘It’s coming!’ Lin Wuxi thought. She gathered all her spiritual energy, took Yu Huang, and flew straight towards the distant secret realm entrance. The Black Spring Sword followed closely, chasing Lin Wuxi at a speed you could see.
Three meters, two meters, one meter! Just as they were about to reach the gate in the sea, Lin Wuxi quickly flew her brush upwards. The Qingyu Brush was going so fast that it scraped against the secret realm gate, making sparks fly. And the pursuing Black Spring Sword crashed hard into the secret realm gate.
Protecting Yu Huang from the force of the impact, Lin Wuxi stared without blinking at the secret realm gate. If she and her senior sister were not mistaken, this secret realm was not as simple as it looked. Just the special understanding they felt they could get from the gate made them both believe it was no ordinary gate.
A full-powered attack from an Aperture Opening Realm cultivator, as they had guessed, should be able to cause some changes to it.
With the secret realm gate as the center, the entire seabed began to shake hard. Along with the shaking, an old, rough voice echoed in everyone’s ears: “Who has disturbed my slumber?”
When the voice sounded, everyone, including Lin Wuxi and Yu Huang, stood still, unable to move.
There was actually someone alive here! This was something Lin Wuxi and Yu Huang could never have imagined. Most secret realms in the cultivation world were things left over from long ago, and no one knew who their masters were. But this secret realm actually had a living master!
A cultivator who had existed for as long as the secret realm itself – what a very scary being that must be.
They had first thought they might be able to use the secret realm’s triggered defensive formations to deal with Chen Yuan and those surrounding them. This could both buy time and allow them to find a chance to escape in the confusion. Even with an Aperture Opening Realm expert like Chen Yuan present, Yu Huang had countless treasures, and if they tried to flee, they had a sixty to seventy percent chance of success. But now, facing such a scary and powerful being, even if they had more treasures, it would be no use.
Yu Huang quietly put away the jade slip she held in her palm. In this situation, nothing more she prepared would help.
“Hmm?” The ancient voice sounded quite surprised. “Why is an Immortal here?”
Not knowing who the voice was talking to, no one dared to make a sound.
“Never mind. Since we’ve met, I’ll help you this once.” As the voice faded, Lin Wuxi, Yu Huang, and Chen Yuan suddenly vanished from the deep sea.
“Sect Master!” All the Haoyue Sect members cried out in alarm, but they couldn’t find their Sect Master no matter how hard they searched. After a long search with no results, the several hundred of them could only retreat as a large group back to Haoyue City.
It was a very carefully planned ambush – who could have known it would end up like this.
But what they didn’t know was still to come. When they returned to Haoyue City, what awaited them would be an earth-shattering change.
