After The Rebirth Of The White Moonlight Of The Immortal Venerable Chapter 14

Past Events (14)

With Wen Qiwu’s arrival, the young girl from Qian Yue Sword Sect dared not continue their previous conversation. Before Yun Heng could speak, she blushed and took her leave.

“What were you and that young Daoist talking about?” Wen Qiwu lowered her eyes slightly, regretful that Yun Heng couldn’t grasp the deeper meaning in her junior sister’s words.

Yun Heng frowned slightly and replied truthfully, “She seemed to want to inquire about someone in Qian Yue Sword Sect. She didn’t get to finish the name, but I only know that the person’s surname is Lin.”

Lin? The Lin from Lin Shu?

Wen Qiwu felt a mix of amusement and exasperation. She understood the girl’s intentions, as she herself had once tried to probe her senior sister in a similar way. Unfortunately, when faced with a block of wood, indirect approaches were utterly useless.

“I suspect that young Daoist wasn’t asking you about a person, Senior Sister,” Wen Qiwu said, her words trailing off.

“Then what did she want to ask?”

Yun Heng waited for her junior sister’s answer, but Wen Qiwu simply curved her lips, a mysterious glint in her eyes that Yun Heng couldn’t decipher. “You wouldn’t understand even if I told you, Senior Sister, so I won’t.”

After walking a few steps forward, Wen Qiwu realized her senior sister hadn’t followed. She turned to see Yun Heng still standing there with a hint of confusion, giving the impression that everyone else understood while she was left out.

The smile in Wen Qiwu’s eyes deepened. She walked back to Yun Heng’s side and linked her arm with hers. “Was my timing bad just now? Did I interrupt your conversation?”

“Not at all,” Yun Heng’s body stiffened for a moment when her arm was linked, but she quickly regained her composure.

“It’s good that I didn’t interrupt you.” Wen Qiwu gently swayed her arm and asked softly, “Senior Sister, you seem very busy these past few days. You haven’t visited Myriad Elixir Mountain for several days. Tonight… you should have time, right?”

Normally, it wouldn’t matter if her senior sister was away for a few days, but Wen Qiwu felt uneasy until the group from Qian Yue Sword Sect departed.

“Tonight…” Yun Heng hesitated. “The elders are hosting the Qingluan Queen and the Sect Leader of Qian Yue Sword Sect tonight. I’ll try to return as early as possible.”

Truthfully, she hadn’t been so busy that she couldn’t spare time to visit Myriad Elixir Mountain. However, whenever she looked towards Myriad Elixir Mountain, her heart felt unsettled. She felt she might be subconsciously avoiding her junior sister, which was why she showed a flicker of guilt when the person she’d been avoiding suddenly appeared beside her.

Seeing her junior sister’s crestfallen expression, Yun Heng’s hardened heart softened once more. “Or… perhaps you’d like to come, Qiwu?”

While it was a banquet, the elders would inevitably discuss tedious cooperation matters with the other two factions. Eating at such a feast was less enjoyable than dining at home.

Wen Qiwu had never been fond of such gatherings, but upon hearing her senior sister’s suggestion, she immediately agreed, “Okay.”

Qian Yue Sword Sect and Wen Shen Sect had a close relationship from a long time ago. The Sect Leader of Qian Yue Sword Sect knew Wen Qiwu, but the Qingluan Queen was meeting her for the first time.

As a truly senior figure among the demon race, the Qingluan Queen had lived for tens of thousands of years. She had witnessed the peak of the demon race’s prosperity, fought alongside the Demon Emperor to conquer lands, and experienced the later decline of the demon race after the Demon Emperor’s fall, with the Primordial Spirit Domain being fractured.

Having weathered so many storms, she thought nothing could faze her. Yet, when the Qingluan Queen saw the female cultivator behind Venerable Yun Heng, she forgot she was pouring wine. The spiritual wine from the wine pot overflowed the cup. No one around the Qingluan Queen reminded her, as even her attendants instinctively looked towards Wen Qiwu.

The gazes of the Feather Clan were too intense. Not only Wen Qiwu, the person in question, but even Yun Heng noticed the commotion from the Qingluan Queen’s side. The Qingluan Queen’s demeanor was not only flustered but also extremely impolite.

A thread of cold immortal energy swept past. The Qingluan Queen, meeting Yun Heng’s icy gaze, instantly regained her senses.

The Qingluan Queen, now aware of her lapse, even broke out in a cold sweat. Compared to other inexperienced young birds who gravitated towards Wen Qiwu, the Qingluan Queen was more rational and considered things more deeply.

Who was the divine being behind Venerable Yun Heng? From her aura, she seemed to be merely human, with no Feather Clan bloodline. Her strength should be at the Void Refinement stage, yet the Qingluan Queen, already at the Golden Immortal realm, couldn’t resist that strange attraction?

Could the other party possess a special physique? The Qingluan Queen frowned, no longer openly staring at Wen Qiwu, as Venerable Yun Heng’s expression already hinted at displeasure. However, she still found an opportunity to steal a glance at the seemingly frail and gentle young woman in green.

Every single one of her Feather Clan attendants was warned with a look by Venerable Yun Heng. The Qingluan Queen noticed that Venerable Yun Heng’s gaze lingered on her daughter for a moment longer, and seeing her daughter’s guilty look, she realized why she hadn’t been able to find her daughter these past few days.

“That is Venerable Yun Heng’s junior sister. Don’t let her sickly appearance fool you, but I feel that even the two of us combined might not be a match for her.”

The Qingluan Queen heard her daughter’s new friend discussing the young woman in green. So, she was Venerable Yun Heng’s junior sister; no wonder she came with the Venerable.

“Hmm, is this wine perhaps the Immortal Brew from Senior Brother Wang’s treasury?” an elder from Wen Shen Sect exclaimed in surprise after taking a sip.

The elder addressed as Senior Brother Wang scowled, humming unhappily.

“It is indeed the Immortal Brew. Junior Brother Wang lost a bet with me last time, so he took this out. He’s been heartbroken for days. Everyone, please try some.”

As the elders bantered, the atmosphere at the banquet grew more relaxed. Wen Qiwu knew that Elder Wang had a fondness for wine and his treasury was filled with fine liquors from various places, the Immortal Brew being the most famous. No wonder Elder Wang was so heartbroken.

Wen Qiwu was curious about the taste of the Immortal Brew. She secretly poured herself a small amount, intending to take a tentative sip.

[Qiwu.]

Suddenly, Wen Qiwu heard her senior sister’s somewhat exasperated telepathic message.

[The Immortal Brew has a strong kick; even a Celestial Immortal could get drunk. If you really want to drink, try the jar of Drunken Phoenix wine that the Qingluan Queen brought.] Junior Sister had a low alcohol tolerance and couldn’t handle the Immortal Brew. Thus, Yun Heng spoke up to stop her after seeing her sneaky actions.

Getting drunk was a minor issue. However, after getting drunk, her junior sister became exceptionally clingy and pampered. With so many outsiders present, and her junior sister being shy, Yun Heng feared Qiwu would be unwilling to go out again after sobering up.

Little did Yun Heng know, making Wen Qiwu drunk on Drunken Phoenix wine was still preferable to her drinking the Immortal Brew directly.

[Understood.] Wen Qiwu could only obediently withdraw her hand and replace the Immortal Brew in her cup with Drunken Phoenix.

As the aroma of Drunken Phoenix wine wafted out, Wen Qiwu felt her face growing warm again. Because she was farther from the Qingluan Queen’s side, and after pouring a small cup, she immediately resealed the wine jar and put it in her storage bag, the aroma did not affect the Feather Clan members in the distance.

Wen Qiwu rubbed her flushed face. This time, she was sure the aroma of this wine was unusual. It gave her a dizzying sensation, as if she were already drunk.

Perhaps it was the wine’s characteristic – intoxicating aroma but not intoxicating taste?

She still remembered her senior sister saying it wasn’t intoxicating.

Before Wen Qiwu could figure anything out, she suddenly heard a “bang” from not far away. She looked up to see the daughter of the Sect Leader of Qian Yue Sword Sect. Her face was flushed red, her expression hazy, clearly drunk. Even in her drunken state, she was staring intently at the Venerable on the main seat.

As the saying goes, alcohol emboldens the timid. Someone who wouldn’t dare to utter a word when sober was now openly expressing their feelings.

Wen Qiwu’s fingertips, gripping her cup, turned slightly pale. The unfortunate cup let out a mournful creak.
