After Feigning Amnesia, My Sworn Enemy Takes Revenge Chapter 51

Tomorrow's Ceremony, Today is Better

When Fu Lingyi found Yue Jin, she only saw her standing in the crowd, spacing out.
As night fell, the crowd thinned. Lin’an City lost its daytime bustle; the usual throngs of people had long since faded, leaving only Yue Jin standing alone in the center.
Fu Lingyi smiled and went up to her. Seeing her always lifted her spirits, not to mention the flutter she felt from the meaningful kiss before they parted.
“Ah Jin, why didn’t you come find me?” She reached out and took her hand. Her face was flushed, the lingering sunset clouds in the sky mirroring the blush on her cheeks. “I’ve been waiting for you for ages. We’ve been apart for several hours; didn’t you miss me?”
Her tone was full of playful pouting, hinting at a subtle dependence.
Yue Jin didn’t move, letting herself be pulled.
“What’s wrong? Why aren’t you talking?” Only then did Fu Lingyi notice something was off. She leaned closer and pressed her forehead against hers.
“Nothing.”
Yue Jin seemed to suddenly wake up. She shook her head, pulled her forehead back slightly, and stepped back half a step.
“Really, it’s nothing. Let’s, let’s go back.”
Fu Lingyi worriedly stroked her cheek: “You look pale. Are you sick?”
“Stop worrying, I’m really fine,” Yue Jin smiled a little bitterly. She squeezed her hand back and blinked lightly. “Let’s go back. It’s getting a bit cold tonight.”
Fu Lingyi’s worry wasn’t unfounded.
The entire next day, Yue Jin was nowhere to be seen.
While there was no sign of her leaving the mountain, perhaps she was just doing what she sometimes did when bored: wandering around the mountain peaks and forests, getting caught up in having fun and forgetting to return.
In any case, she hadn’t left Chongxiang Sword Sect , so it wasn’t a big problem.
But Fu Lingyi was still very anxious. She was worried about Yue Jin’s state, and even more so, she thought about how the day after tomorrow was the wedding ceremony, fearing she might back out at the last minute.
Though she knew that was unlikely.
There were many things to busy herself with for the dao companion ceremony; she was spread thin and didn’t have time to go look for her all day.
Yun Lingyue said that if she had something on her mind, it might be best to let her be. Yue Jin might be experiencing what people often called ‘pre-wedding jitters’.
But as night fell, the room was still cold and empty.
Fu Lingyi couldn’t sit still and went out to look for her all night.
Unexpectedly, at dawn, the person she had been worrying about was already sitting in the bamboo house, waiting for her.
“Where did you go?” Fu Lingyi’s voice couldn’t help but carry a hint of blame. The bamboo house was enclosed and dim, flecks of faint light dotted the ground and fell upon the face of the person sitting there, creating sharp contrasts of light and shadow.
“You were gone all day. No matter where you go, you should at least tell me.”
That was the extent of her reproach. Fu Lingyi actually didn’t have the heart to scold her too harshly, even though she had spent the entire night shouting her name on the side peak, searching for her, with no response.
Yue Jin lowered her head, looking a little pitiful: “I’m sorry.”
At that single word, Fu Lingyi couldn’t bring herself to say anything more. She walked over, sat beside her, and gently took her hand: “I’m not blaming you. I was just scared. You don’t have any spiritual energy right now. What if you encountered a demonic beast?”
“I brought your Red Spirit Jade. If something happened, I would find Yun Lingyue.”
She had taken Fu Lingyi’s Red Spirit Jade last time, and after sending a message to Yun Lingyue, she had casually put it in her pocket and forgotten to return it.
Her mentioning it now made Fu Lingyi pause.
“The Red Spirit Jade…” She remembered the magic artifact and smiled, feeling relieved. “Keep it then, but you’re not allowed to find Lingyue. I’ll go get hers later; you can only find me.”
“Okay.” Yue Jin was incredibly obedient at this moment, agreeing to everything.
Seeing her obedience, Fu Lingyi felt the urge to touch her again and pinched her cheek: “Don’t do that again.”
“There won’t be a next time,” Yue Jin looked up, her eyes flowing with expression, and gazed into her eyes. “I won’t ever do it again.”
Something about that didn’t sound quite right.
Fu Lingyi wanted to ask more, but Yue Jin suddenly stood up. She walked to the door and locked it.
After thinking for a moment, she seemed to feel it wasn’t enough. She turned back to look at her: “Lingyi, could you set a barrier for me?”
“What kind of barrier?”
“A barrier that prevents anyone from coming in.”
At these words, Fu Lingyi’s throat tightened.
She formed hand seals and chanted a spell, sealing the entire room and simultaneously blocking out the sound from within.
She didn’t know why, but she just did it instinctively.
Seeing her finish, Yue Jin’s expression seemed to relax considerably. She walked back and sat on the edge of the bed.
The bamboo house windows weren’t open, and the door was tightly shut, so very little light seeped in. Even though it was daytime, the room felt as dark as twilight.
Yue Jin simply sat on the edge of the bed; she didn’t lie down. Her left hand slowly stroked the edge of the blanket. Under her eyes, lack of rest showed a hint of weariness.
She stroked it again and again, as if determined to smooth the blanket completely flat across the entire bamboo bed.
Fu Lingyi didn’t understand what she was doing at this moment and asked tentatively: “Ah Jin, you…”
“When you sleep every night, you like to press down on me, do you know that?” Yue Jin interrupted her and started speaking on her own.
“I… I haven’t slept with anyone else, so I’m not really sure…”
“Now you know,” she continued, speaking in a casual, natural tone. “Also, you like to hold me tightly, and with the weather changing, I always wake up hot in the middle of the night because of you.”
Fu Lingyi thought Yue Jin was complaining and quickly explained: “I didn’t mean to. Next time, I’ll pay attention.”
“Also,” she finished stroking the blanket and leaned her body to the side, resting against the bed frame. “Your cooking is good, yes, but the variety is too messy. You try every type; I don’t like it. I only want to eat one flavor every day.”
This struck Fu Lingyi a little hard: “But, but I was afraid of not doing one kind well, I…”
She “I-I-I’d” for a long time, unable to say anything, finally just sighing, a sense of grievance swirling in her heart: “I understand.”
She kept listing criticisms, and towards the end, Yue Jin was just grasping for things to say. She even brought up the management of Chongxiang Sword Sect , telling her to play less and handle more matters, and not always leave Yun Lingyue to do everything alone.
It sounded quite similar to Master Yi Qing’s daily lectures. Fu Lingyi secretly thought, Is this what mortals call a necessary step before getting married?
Finally, Yue Jin truly had nothing left to say. Talking so much had made her mouth dry. She drank a little tea and sat back on the bed.
“Lingyi.”
“Hmm?”
“Come here.”
Yue Jin completely changed her tone from before. Her collar was slightly open, and she leaned against the side of the bed, revealing her delicate jawline. She turned her head to call her, patting the spot beside her.
“Come here,” she said again, her voice soft and melodious, carrying a hint of alluring emotion.
It was as if the person sitting on the bed wasn’t the pure and elegant beauty, but that seductive demoness in red from the past.
Fu Lingyi couldn’t control herself. It was as if she was enchanted by a siren. She walked over step by step and sat down beside her, causing the bed to dip slightly.
She turned sideways, licked her lower lip, and looked at Yue Jin.
Their gazes locked, the affection between them like silken threads pulling, clinging without breaking, stretching out unbound.
“You called me over, for what?” Fu Lingyi asked, her voice inexplicably hoarse, carrying a husky tone.
“Lingyi…” Yue Jin’s call was intimate. For a while before, she had always deliberately called Fu Lingyi by her full name, but now, she seemed to savor the last two syllables before letting them out.
“What?”
Yue Jin didn’t answer her soft-as-a-thread question. She just shifted closer, her thigh lightly brushing against her silk outer robe.
Only then did Fu Lingyi realize Yue Jin was only wearing a single outer garment; everything underneath was gone. What touched her was a smooth leg.
Her thigh was exposed, her clothes half-removed. The tempting scenery beneath was hidden in the depths, visible only as a glimpse if she were to lift her leg slightly.
The sight made Fu Lingyi’s blood rush.
“Lingyi, we’re getting married tomorrow…” Yue Jin rested one hand on Fu Lingyi’s shoulder, leaned close, and blew a breath into her ear.
She was flustered, not knowing where to look.
“Yes, yes, getting married…”
“Then today.” Yue Jin turned her head, her face inches away from hers, close enough to feel each other’s breath.
“Today…” She didn’t continue speaking. But both of them understood perfectly.
Fu Lingyi’s heart pounded in her throat because she saw Yue Jin lean even closer and kiss her on the lips.
A brief touch and separation.
Yue Jin looked at her, the corners of her eyes curved in a smile, as if playfully stealing a kiss.
The next moment, the owner of those smiling eyes kissed her again.
This time, they didn’t part. Yue Jin lingered on Fu Lingyi’s lips, and seeing her frozen and unmoving, she wrapped both arms around her neck.
Deepening the kiss.
Fu Lingyi only froze for a moment before reacting. She untied the ties of her clothes, and with one hand, lifted the restless hand that was pressing against her waist.
It was Yue Jin’s first time experiencing this kind of thing; her heart pounded faster than raindrops falling during a downpour.
The daylight shone on the windows from outside, leaving a whole sheet of patterned light on them, obscuring the room’s intimate scene.
Outside, disciples passed by, bustling around busily. No one noticed anything in the courtyard, focused only on preparing for tomorrow’s dao companion ceremony.
Inside the bamboo house, sounds and movements continued, and even the tones of their voices became blurred.
The sun gradually climbed up, reached the middle of the sky, and then began to descend westward. Fu Lingyi went from being on top initially to lying flat, staring at the person on her, whose eyes held a hint of tears.
“You’re not allowed to look at me…” Seeing Fu Lingyi look at her, Yue Jin covered her eyes.
Fu Lingyi placed her hand over the hand covering her eyes, a smile playing on her lips: “If I don’t look at you, what else would i do?”
Yue Jin lowered herself and sensually rubbed against the most sensitive spot on her neck: “You can feel.”
A muffled groan. Whatever words Fu Lingyi wanted to say in protest were buried and drowned out within it.
“Do you feel it?” She couldn’t speak, allowing the person on her to do as they pleased.
Suddenly, the sight before her cleared, and the light returned. Fu Lingyi grabbed Yue Jin, who was restlessly crawling lower. Now, her face was truly bright red: “What are you doing?”
Yue Jin pushed her hand away, licked her lips, and looked up at her with a sly smile.
“Don’t move around recklessly, or you can’t blame me if it hurts.”
“Don’t…” The latter half of Fu Lingyi’s words were swallowed back, not a single syllable escaping.
The sun couldn’t hang onto the sky and could only head west again, descending bit by bit, slowly dropping towards the ground.
Whether from shyness or timidity, it was hard to say. In any case, it let the moon shine brightly in the sky in its place.
